Hello! I'm looking to get better at doing storyboards and planning comics panels, is there any books or anything -like certains artist's works, movies, comics, manga, etc. to use as a reference- to help? Thanks in advance!

Gekko not related.

Shot By Shot by Stephen Katz
Framed Ink by Marcos Mateu-Mestre (there should be a dl link in the artbook thread)

http://movie-screencaps.com/ has a lot of stuff captured frame by frame for reference.

And basically just studying the compositions of your favorite movies/cartoons/comics, etc.

Came here to suggest Shot by Shot as well, fantastic book.

I'm going through Lighting for Cinematography now, it's not related to storyboarding but to become a storyboard artist is very difficult. There's no course for it, you got to study film and you got to study art.

Absorb yourself in everything film related, especially cinematography, obviously.

there's a series on youtube called 'every frame a painting' that does pretty extensive breakdowns of successful film techniques done by acclaimed directors. the videos going over kurosawa's composition would probably help you most

desu it's a great series of film essays but not much regarding composition, at least not in the visual sense (e.g Rule of Thirds, Dynamic Perspective).

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
