Anyone who bought "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain", do you feel like it was worth it?
>>
no read "keys to drawing" instead.

The first chapter is one of the best introductions to observational drawing that I know. Unfortunately a couple of editions ago she decided to add a host of ridiculous tools into the book's curriculum and it's simply not worth it in my opinion.

I actually bought that one and it seems more of a "feel good when drawing" book.

Makes sense. Overcomplicating stuff.

I have both and keys to drawing is a fucking better. Betty fills her book with completely useless information. Keys to drawing goes through most fundamentals and has actually useful information in the text instead of pseudoscience

Fuckton* posting from my phone.

I was wondering this. I can't finish the other side of my painting. Is it my brain?

every time I fail is another month of waiting , and mor paint gone.

I want to get it done so I can die in peace.

I was thinking to write a free version of a book for absolute beginners, getting rid of all the pseudoscience and unnecessary tools. But I first have to prove myself and get a drawing job.

It's because in between all the practical work she stuffs the rest of the book with some of the most inane bullshit I have ever read.
