I'm gonna get crucified for this but I love the aesthetic
>post images of your favorite art style so /ic/ can say it's less than shit
Don't ask to make me pick only one. My dream is one day my style become a mix of both.
Bit of an odd choice of image for Leyendecker considering how good/more famous some of his other work is. Also a mixture of Loomis and Leyendecker would probably be pretty dull. They both already have pretty sterile art, and mixing them would make it even more so. If you had to pick one pick JC since he's obviously superior in every way.
Only time can tell.
I could argue with you about that, but I'll just respect your opinion. Besides, the reason why I love leyendecker is his men in uniform, way better than his "fashion" illustrations for me. It's so hard to find interesting art with men in uniform, and leyendecker did it very well.
robert valley. love the way the guy stylizes things
I wish I could sketch like this. Not my favourite style, but for me looks gud.
Watercolor is breddy. Who dares not to agree?
Looks like shit. Shitty line work, with shitty ink blots, shitty random brush strokes all over the place and splattered watercolor paint everywhere all topped of with bird stencils. I can tell by the signature it was done by some dumb girl thinking this is all deep interpretation of herself but Jesus Christ. It's like she got one of those artist starter kits and decided to use everything in one go.
love this guy
kek/10 response. The other anon is right about a lot of things - but this kind of shit goes well with teenagers or anyone who doesn't know much about art in general. Great way to gain popularity if you don't mind what audience you get.
I'm guessing you're the teenage girl.
Koko the Gorilla could do about the same level as that picture. It's a mindless mess.
And I'm not going to lower myself in order to prove myself right. Try that with some other asshole. The picture is shit, deal with it.
made by a copycat i aspire to be one aswell
pls criticize him, i wanna stop liking his work
I know this is such an uncultured, typical /ic/ response, but I love this guy's traditional media works.
Yeah his trad stuff is good but I prefer his digi
I really like Yusuke Murata's art.
Guy called Seeker on pixiv. Really good with colors but unfortunately he doesn't work with his old style anymore.
Why? He's the Rene Grau of the 80s. Stylish and influential.
Is that Lora Zombie? Not all her stuff is terrible, but this one is particularly bad.
I kind of liked the style of the monsters in YYH manga, too.
They always creeped the shit out of me when I was younger, though.
Have you read Hunter x Hunter? same artist, there's not always monsters but when there are you can get some unique creature design in that same style (because same artist, duh).
Specially during the Chimera Ant arc.
his faces sometimes looks weird, and his anatomy is iffy a lot of the time, but damn if this isnt one of the most aesthetically pleasing styles ive ever seen.
Not my favorite but I like this guy's style. Perhaps it's also because of the subject matter.
>I'm not going to lower myself in order to reach less than shit
anyone seen a cat in paris?
I don't know how much hate i'll get for this, but i adore the style used for the Zelda mangas, especially the ones with Toon Link.
I just think it's such a perfect style of detail and cartoon.
Juanjo Guarnido's attention to detail, lighting and tone paired with his blend of expressive, gestural cartooning and realism, none of which ever gets in the way of his storytelling
this mother fucker here has been my favorite for a long long time.
the crazy thing about miura's work was his fuckin progress, man. from when berserk started to where it is now fucks me up
i like takehiko inoue's work a lot
Man, where do I even start.
First image is my favorite style of all time, the one I try to achieve.
The second and third images are the artists I take a lot of inspiration from.
Here's the opening to an anime with my favorite style.
I really dig this guy's porn, but a lot of it isn't scanned. Still, his faces are so expressive and he really knows how to draw meat, background, figures, and so on.
Guy's name is mado
Pixiv id: 15033
The style of Ren and Stimpy. It is what inspires me to draw. I find it genius, and seeing how it influenced so many cartoons, many other artists must agree.
I have an entire ren and stimpy folder if anyone wants me to spam it.
I really love early Dragonball/Dr. Slump.fw
>tfw i got a dragonball artwork for christmas
Also, I meant to say art book instead of artwork.
Are you seriously asking for examples of bad Marvel / DC comic art as if those would somehow be hard to find? Just lurk /co/ for 5 minutes for fuck's sake. They don't even have a Squirrel Girl thread up right now so you will be spared the horrors of truly terrible western comics.
>thinking with his dick: the post
You'd be fucking dumb to think those skills are the "average", too. Most doujins are not as well-drawn as that example, given the fact that it's amateur stuff for the very most part.
So much stuff to like i just scrolled my folder and picked something.
If you've actually ever seen "your average Japanese doujin" you'd change your mind quick.
Came to post him as well.Totally dig his work.
i love marek jarockis work
I'd sell my soul in a fucking heartbeat to draw like Phobs.
Ill post a few. I hope you aren't being ironic. I honestly find Ren and Stimpy genius material. John and the gang really had their style down pat in the 90s. Im not really sure what John is doing these days with his art.
No references, no guidelines. This dude motivates me to put pencil to paper.
A lot of my favorites are already in this thread, so I'll choose this to post.
Kaneoya Sachiko's stuff is the fuckin shit
Not favorite but its up there, scary as hell when I was a kid.
too bad he only draw shitty stuff nowadays, this guy was awesome
I don't know what it is about the colors on this one but they're just so damn hnnnnnggg.
I'm still sucking sinix' dick.
Shit I don't know how many times I've made posts about him now.
I can confidently say Hamada is the best manga artist out there in terms of style and skill (Ignoring Inou for a second in skill), Murata gets BTFO
plus he has a daily stream, I have nearly 100GB of him drawing
I think I put a bunch of them onto Google Drive already, most the videos are almost 7 hours long and I haven't cropped any breaks or once it ends (I stop recording as soon as I wake up, his stream starts at mid-night where I live)
they range from 1-9GB each but are recorded in 720p i believe
If anyone's interested I can link to it
That's what always surprises me in manga. Character are usually drawn so so or quite shitty, but monsters and environment (at least the one that isn't traced or exists at all) can be very, very good.
Thankfully there are some exceptions, but still.
>Tracing porn actresses and drawing square faces and horse cheekbones on every woman is so much better.
Look at someone like Hirohiko Araki and compare their work ethic to the average comic artist. The average artist working in comics can't even do more than one job at a time.
Passing from pencil artist to inking artist to color artist to editor hell, to photoshop to hell till the life is fucking sucked dry so that every comic page looks like every other page.
Thanks for showing me a new artist to learn from!
>Bengus or Daigo
>posts a Kinu Nishimura illustration
Get your shit together. Bengus is pretty based tho. Capcom had some of the best artistic talent in gaming during their golden years. Bengus and Kinu are my top two in terms of Capcom art talent.
I fucking love McBess.
Can't decide between a variety of styles I love, however.
And here's another style I like.
I'm a fan of hard black/white.
and here i thought dorohedoro wasnt gonna make it
>in weeb thread about drawing weeb things on weeb website created by a weeb but now owned by a nip
>complaining about weebs
Anybody here knows lenkobiscuit? He used to post a lot on newgrounds, definately one of the most memorable styles i saw, whatever happened to him?
Most high end mangaka have a few assistants, you'll notice in Stone Ocean the some of the background characters are in silhouettes, probably because assistants drawing would clash with Araki too much. The Japanese have an insane work-ethic, but sleeping 2 hours a day is a bit demanding though.
I would say that one thing the Japanese really nailed is guiding the eye in their comics. Taking HxH as a random example, the flow of dialogue and pictures is perfect. Compared this to any random western comic where the author and artist are separate people, so you have back-and-forth dialogue with multiple different expressions in the same damn panel.
im posting them from their image links
I'll not dump all of them
I love this drawing, cant get enough of it.
I don't know what is it about those smooth and colorful happy anime illustrations but damnit they're really pleasing to look at.
Yeeeeaaaah now go drink a glass of water and wash your face until you calm the fuck down. He's good on some illustrations, but definetly not better than murata, takeshi obata, Miura and the likes.
still interested though.
