Been slowly setting up my studio for the past few days. Lighting currently is shit, and I have a drafting table so keeping the light directly in the center of it is a bitch.
So looking for a lamp but .....is there any real difference in the lighting you use? I'm assaulted with so many different options. I've head that incandescent bulbs can distort the colors in whatever your painting.
Does anyone know if it makes any real difference? Aside from lighting up the place.
Never go for very strong light, or the glare will reflect off wet paint. The colour of the light should be white so that colours aren't lost. Colour light will mean that you won't be able to tell between different hues. Maybe look at lights that mimic daylight that let you change their brightness according to your needs. The best light to work in is diffused daylight from a window- not too bright or coloured.
