Also, I haven't seen any new art from him since 2008, what happened? Did he die?

..does that guy go by another name? because my favorite hentai artist, Yukimi has an identical style.

Those 2 styles are clearly different...

Another retard that thinks his random doodling is art thanks to the prevalence of modern art, but is too insecure to proclaim it as such so instead pairs it with a nonsensical pseudo-DEEP message implying that the nature of the picture is indecipherable so he wouldn't get his feelings hurt when people inevitably call it trash.
It's trash, and he's a complete retard who should kill himself. sage
>>3102510
Harsh senpai, should take a look at the man in the mirror.
i dont do art often but does this look decent
No. If you don't know what it is how would we?
>>3101983
post this shit to /beg/. you are gonna clog up the catalog with your own threads.
>>3101991
We should because this is the "/ic/ - Artwork/Critique" board. You know, the one filled with artists.
>dont draw figures for 5 months while i grind other things
>now cant draw figures for shit
fucking hell, is this going to happen to everything else too? how do i avoid all this?
>>3101771
Don't completely drop other aspects of art as you improve on others. The problem is that you completely stopped, you didn't even draw figures every now and then to keep the skill in your hands.
>>3101774
but with all of the different things, wouldn't i spend the entire time just maintaining previously held skills without having room to learn anything new?
>>3101771
>>3101779
What are you trying to learn? What's your end goal? The problem might be that you're trying to master too many things. Just focus on one or two things that you really want to excel at, and do those all the time. Don't ever completely stop. Other things that you would like to be pretty good at but don't feel the need to master can be done on the side whenever you have the time.
Don't try to be a god at everything, because you never will be. Kim Jung Gi can't paint nearly as well as Sam Michlap, and Sam Michlap can't draw nearly as well as Kim Jung Gi. There's a reason for that.
Reminder that you dont need to be ruan jia in order to become a successful concept artists behind a sucessful videogame.
And even if you did, you can always kill him, eat his liver and take his place.

I was not expecting that image to be from an actual videogame, cool
Your art looks like shit
Dont shill your own thread faggot
A lazy hypocritical fothermucker Johannes Voss aka Appleflinger is closing his almost dead forum down.
http://forums.permanoobs.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3596
I am seeking for a good reliable place where i can post my stuff and get a useful feedback. Any suggestions?
I checked conceptart.org. It's alive and far more popular than permanoobs now. Why is this forum mostly considered as unacceptable? Algenpfleger said many unpleasant words about it, but I can't trust him after this anymore:
http://algenpfleger.tumblr.com/post/95847707615/your-work-has-kind-of-stagnated-over-the-years
>>3093461
People are passionate about conceptart.org because they remember it from its heydays, so they are probably more dramatic and negative about it than they should be. I mean, it IS a shadow of its former self, but what internet forum isn't these days?
CA used to be the biggest baddest art place online, it's painful for some people (including myself) because there likely will never be something like that again. There was a lot of drama some years back which is the main reason people stay off it, ranging from malware problems, spambots to shady business practices and hurt feelings. I wasn't around at the time so I don't know the details but none of the people involved are around and if you're refusing to use the site out of some misplaced fan loyalty to artists who got their fee-fees hurt, you're a cuck
It's not the most active place in the world, those good old forum days are gone on the internet, and the UI is clunky, but it's good enough and beats the alternatives (Levelup, DA etc). There's good community activities and plenty of crits to be had. A dude who posted in the draw thread here basically got called the next ruan jia, and got his ass handed to him posting the same work on CA

>Any suggestions?
Try 4chan, I heard they have an Artwork/Critique board.
This is my first drawing in years, as the sticky recommended. Do I have potential?

Go to the beginner thread and actually try learning something retard.
>>3102659
Thanks senpai
Okay this is seriously pissing me off. With all the special rulers in Clip Studio, there still seems to be no way to draw straight horizontal and vertical lines like you do with the ruler tool in Photoshop. The parallel line ruler seem to be only able be set to to draw either horizontally or vertically but not both. The so called ruler tool in CSP is actually a fucking LINE TOOL without pressure sensitivity and not a ruler at all. Yes, you can set up linear rulers that are both horizontal and vertical but that snaps the line to only the ruler which is completely impractical. Am I crazy or is there no way to do this?
pressure sensitivity works for me using that tool. are you grinding your stylus into the tablet or something? also i can change to angles that arent horizontal and vertical.
>>3101594
>Using a crutch to draw a straight line
Not gonna to make it.
>>3101594
an example of changing the direction of the tool. you can do this with the thing that looks like a arrow next to a box in the tools.
>>3101601
no rules just tools
even loomis says he cant draw a straight line without a ruler.
i know they are cheap but i just cant afford them right now (just college things). but i swear i'll support them after i graduate and get a job. Thanks in advance
Doesn't Jace post here?
He'll swarm your thread
I'm not a big fan of Kawacy's style. He seems to oversaturate his images with needless details so they end up having a weird flow.
Just look at this shit. Why is the strongest colour (bright orange) part of the background? You gotta make a conscious effort to figure out where the character ends and the background begins.
He's great on a technical level but it looks like he skipped Design Principles 101

Tips from a graphic designer I meet time ago
>Color theory it's useles for painting
>perspective it's a waste of time
>construction lines? what the hell you are talking about?
>custom brushes it's only for graphic designers
>copying from old masters it's tracing, and its cheating
Now I understand why this faggot never get hired.

nice
What's a good medium to use on top of colored pencils for details?
I tried using ink from a pentel brush pen and that took forever to dry. And I don't want to use my felt tip microns because they clog. I learned that the hard way. I was thinking maybe guache? Or acrylic? But I can never have a tiny enough line for detail. Even with tiny ass brushes.
Also colored pencil thread. Post color pencil drawings, either yours or other peoples.
And what colored pencils do you think are the best? I use prisms. It's what I've been using from my highschool days
Gouache* and primsacolor*
I made this icon for a game being developed but i dont think it looks good enough some critiques would be great
>>3102250
Why do you think it doesn't look good?
>>3102250
whats the playstile of this game? mining?
>>3102250
What size will is be in the game? The composition is not very good and the hammer is too small compared to the wall. The bricks of the wall are small too. I don't know the context, but it feels like it would be better if it showed a large hammer and like 3-4 large bricks. Also think about adding some more color.
Had no one else to show it to besides the cancerous deviant art community, mania hyype!
Heres the original link if you wanna see it in hd, just hit the gallery

Did anyone undergo training of this kind, be it with a teacher or alone? I am wondering if I can do it by myself with success comparable to one in that school.
Currently doing this.
It will be hard to do it on your own, imho. If you can, go to a school. ARC website has them. They're fairly affordable for what you get out of it. Plus the model drawing sessions that last for weeks are way better in these schools than elsewhere.
Your alternative is to look through Julie Aristides' books since she covers the atelier training methods.
If you do it by yourself don't discard your work. As you get better come back to old work with more insight and improve it. Your values on your Bargues will be too light or too dark. You can't tell if you are just starting out.
Learn both sight size and comparative measurement. Most schools do both, there's nothing special about either one.
You pay for someone to teach you the steps and critique your work. The work itself is the hardest part and that's all you.
>>3101215
I really can't go to school, I am poor as fuck but I figured that sticking to an atelier program might help with getting better in the way I want. I have been doing sight size but not comparative measurement, so I have to do that aswell. Thanks.
>>3101026
>Did anyone undergo training of this kind, be it with a teacher or alone?
What do you mean by this training alone? Just grinding life drawings everyday?
I'm sure people have done that but it's probably not as good if you don't have someone to point out your mistakes.
