Perspective is fucking shit. I hate math and wanted to escape it with drawing but even now I can't rest in peace.
Do I have to be a character illustrator to escape this shit? I really don't want to deal with mathematic problems when I am fucking drawing. I am talking about measuring or determining the length or shit like that in space, that aspect of perspective. I am not going to do this even if it means my death.

Wanna start as an artist. I don't know how to call my self. Some ideas I have are "Jmos", "JVill", "JMV". I like "JMV" but I think using just consonants would be weird. Any piece of advice IC?

Nsfw artists how do you cope with shame.how are you so confident with drawing porn. Im extremely anxious about drawing nsfw. What if your friends find out what if you can't find a gf because she's digusted of that stuff. What if you get doxxed and everyone will know that you are one that drew that dick. And for the rest of your life you'll be lonely and with no friends because everyone thinks you're a pervert. And im torn a apart becaue i have a strong desire to draw sfw and nsfw. I want to have fun in discord groups and have artist friends like so many other artists i have seen. Would you show your face and what if you get so good that you can be a pro artist at company but they decline you cause they found your lewd stash. Many nsfw artists are getting hate

Mission: The purpose of this thread is to allow the community to learn together and provide accountability for interested Anons. We will go through lessons and books together to provide us with some structure. I know /ic/ h8z abstract art but, well I don't have a but and I don't know why I'm asking but, is there a way to 'get into' (as in become good at) abstract art.
By become good I mean be able to recognize what makes abstract art appealing to my eye when it is appealing to my eye as well as what makes abstract art appealing to my mind when it is appealing to mind as well as know how to recreate or create such pieces of work which my mind and my eye find appealing
I just find representational art so weird, like why am I trying to make a 3d mass of cells and atoms and shit into some graphite on a bit of paper? whats the deal
I'm practicing figure drawing and shit and I get how to improve and such but what about like abstract art, theres no perspective or form or whatever, do I just learn colour theory and composition? do I study other artists who do work I enjoy

yes, spend a lot of time on color theory and composition. study matisse, rothko, picasso. focus on decomposing everything that interests you into abstract concepts with visual forms. also realize most abstracts are clueless imitations from artists that knew what they were doing or retards slashing paint at a wall with no rhyme or reason. that should get you started but if not don't force yourself to learn something that isn't for you.

I'm actually confused why this is constantly being asked here. Is something not stated properly from the sticky? Have all these images posted from previous people who got gud, offering advice, not helping or reaching beginners?
What is it that causing people here to keep asking this question. It seems very obvious how to get good, but people still debate about it. Why?

I know this is board is traditionally for 2D stuff but /3/ is filled with people I'm certain have no idea what they're talking about. I took my work there and all I'm getting is "lol I think something is off but I don't know what". I have come to this board before and I have received some great criticism and helpful tips that were specific. I'm going to commence a dump of my sculpt ITT.
I'm mostly concerned about the proportions I have and if there is anything odd with the anatomy. Some of the odd lumps will the smoothed out with retopology.
One glaring issue I have with the face at least, is how the eyelid come out of the brow. I might have to round out the brow a little more towards the bottom to cover the eyelid or push the eyelid up towards it. The ears have sharp edges but that was deliberate to make it easier to retopologize. Also ignore the background that's for lighting.

Hey 4chan, just self tattoed my first tattoo, i had only laid down the lines so i still have the shading and color to go, do you have any advise, critique or suggestion? Even tho its a tattoo some mistakes may be fixed very easily in the future. Im mostly concerned about the leafs on top, been thinking about doing 1 more. Even tho i'm mostly happy with the outcome of the first session, be nice please.

Your lines are pretty decent, but I can see some wiggles, mostly around the leaves, and a few spots where the lines don't match up right. Also, the top teeth seem to be out of perspective with the bottom ones. Otherwise not too shabby, keep up the good work senpai.

You should have asked that before you put that drawing on your leg.
Roses are gay.
Drawing lines between front teeth is what only beginners do - it won't look well. And white ink goes much harder under skin than black ink, so you'll have a bad time fixing it.
Your leafs look ugly and unnatural - you didn't use enough reference.
Proportions look kinda weird - I can't recognize what kind of creature it was.
Perspective of upper jaw and lower jaw doesn't mach up.
Start saving up for a tattoo removal/10.
