/ic/ I need your expert help. I'm doing a painting of an head from a photo and I've decided to put a crown on it. But the angle the head is at is confusing me as what angle the crown will sit on the head. As you can see in the sketch I'm not sure if the bottom rim of the crown should curve upwards or downwards or even be straight. The angle that the glass frames go back to the ears suggest we are looking slightly down on the head which means that the rim of the crown should curve upwards (line A)? I've tried it both ways and neither looks right.
What do you think /ic/, should it be like line A, B or straight?

If you study the skull, look at reference photos, you'll know the answer is B.

>lined paper
>painting
>symbol sketch
Have any of you guys stolen poses from Disney screencaps? Would it be morally wrong?
not really, as long as you dont trace its not stealing. referencing poses from other peoples art usually isnt as helpful for learning as real life is.
>stealing poses
Yeah because Disney has intellectual property rights to the human body in certain positions.
>>3112223
why do you even need to "steal" "poses"?
Fuck nazi mod edater kermit sold my data CX

fucing frogposter
Looks fine
What does /ic/ think of Sycra's fundamentals chart ? Would learning in this way be beneficial ?
It's neat, but vague.
Learning in what way? It just says to study everything anyways.
>>3111537
As in focusing more on the red spots and consciously doing less off the rest ? Or is that bad and should everyone put equal focus on all the different fundamentals regardless of their interests?
>>3111535
Why does a storyboard artist need more knowledge of perspective than an animator?
What have you drawn from imagination today?
Does memory count
>>3111534
No.

I can't even begin
I know this is an odd thread but I have been questioning myself a lot lately. Here is my backstory I was a full time freelance artist making around $900 a month not good money but not bad money. I was fine with the money I was being paid because I have disabilities and was unable to do anything else but freelance. After a while I started questioning the behavior some of these companies and people wanting to hire me would treat me, they treat me poorly and then say it was my own fault for being an artist. I started having people constantly trying to scam me I put steps in place in order to rid any people scamming me, then those people began to harass me because I learned how to protect myself I stopped giving them any reactions. Soon I had a famous artist start stealing my work and claiming it as their own and they could get away with it because my name is small.
I know that in our society and history that artists have been treated unfairly and expected to do their work regardless of their treatment while they are alive. I just feel burnt out and unable to draw well. I use to draw for the hope of making others smile with my work but now I do not want to draw for anyone but myself or share my work with anyone.
I want to know what the reason is you draw?
Are you already aware of how people treat artists?
How do you deal with the poor treatment and expectations of giving your all for nothing because you are an artist?
Paranoia is a personality defect, not a disability.
>>3111493
Paranoid schizophrenia is an actual disability.

So every digital art school ever?

I made this very short animation for one of my favorite Watts' speeches. I would appreciate some feedback, I'm quite a beginner and any advice or criticism is truly appreciated.
>>3109343
cool but it look like you can't draw very well. Very poor linework
>>3109355
I agree, my drawing skills have improved since I made this animation but I'm still quite bad. I had a particularly hard time adjusting to the drawing board, wasn't used to that at all
Not a great speech, is it? "at odds with God", because you've listened to Him, and recognized his Son? I don't have chronic guilt but I hate having manichaean notions of duality.
Post your fav artists works, let's get an inspo thread going.
I'll start.

What sort of art/aesthetic style is this?
Bad taste in color
the rushed render farm aesthetic? What a weird question
also fpbp

I think its beautiful
What is your biggest fear in drawing?
Mine is regression, I'm fucking stressed when I'm not drawing because I fear that I don't remember what I learned before.
At least it makes me draw a lot.
>>3112033
It's always starting a new drawing. Blank canvases scare me for whatever reason. I guess because it's perfect and my marks ruin it. But paper is meant to be used so. Yeah.
Why dont you blogging cunts fuck off back to tumblr with your bullshit? We don't need 20 metathreads ffs
doing comics , one time i was all ready to dive in and make one and got like 10 pages in and hated all of the art in it , now i am afraid to start one again because i want it to be right the first time i do it.
also committing to either traditional or digital. i draw best when i'm on traditional , but i paint a lot better in digital. and i have trouble shifting between the two, but i have a fair amount of money invested in both. i'm trying to find a way to hybridize this in a smooth way if anyone has a good method you would really be helping me out
What percentage of artists go through art school and still draw like absolute shit?
>>3109797
i have a cousin who went to art school and still draws like jack shit. talent is real famm
How could you possibly measure that? Just what is "absolute shit"? What is an "artist"?
>>3109806
dude theres some sort of objective standard
Does anyone still think that AI won't replace artists in the next few years?

cant wait for a hentai version of this
>>3103317
Why do you insist on making this kind of shitposting thread every day even after people have spent hours of their life explaining to you brainlets why that won't be the case?
>>3103317
This shit ain't fair, it's got perfect memory and it doesn't even draw nor do art, it just pumps out moeblobs.
Hello, pic related, does anyone know where it comes from?
Or knows a way to find out other than google reverse search image?
>>3111961
Found it : Assassin's Creed : Rising Sun.
And guess how I found out...
