What a wonderful Banksy dick-rider you have there
Sir we draw here
Street "art"
Atleast graffiti doesn't aim to push edgy and cool messages across, unlike street art (in most cases).
Scale model thred because im a fag. Revell star wars before.

Hey /ic/! How's everything going?
So... i wanna give a present to a great friend i have, he loves to draw monsters and is trying to make his own terror/horror comic, and i thought to myself: "I believe a book of terror/horror images references would be a great presente"
So this is what i am trying to find, i looked around but having no idea what to look for i am pretty lost, would you guys recomend me any book that fits what i am looking for?
Thank you very much for your time and attention!
Maybe the artbook from some horror videogame he likes or something?
>>2850554
i am not sure but i think there are some decent stuff in
"scary stories to read before sleep" i believe it is called like that, and there are three parts
i haven't read it myself but seen some pics and it has cool art also anons on /x/ always speak highly of the books
Whipped this up last night.
Who is it suppose to be?

lol gay
How does it feel to fail at tracing?
alright icicles, brushwork thread.
i tried pic related and am wondering if i'm just incompetent. i find them uncontrollable. you find tons of brushes like these that make sweet juicy strokes, but you can't use them for anything, except juicy strokes. no blending, let alone rendering, is possible. how do these guys paint with these monsters?
>>2848336
You can try painting with a less chaotic brush, and then once you have a shape how you want it go back over top with the artsy fartsy brushes. It's easier if you have a shape isolated, like on a separate layer with transparency lock turned on. Then you can go nuts on it with textured brushes.
also, can anyone explain to me how to get brushwoork like pic related? sung choi, apparently works at bungie. sp smooth and soft yet at the same time so defined. how?
>>2848336
i call it the /icup
If you don't know where to start, read the sticky.

Please refrain from making your threads if you only have a single question.
How would you rate drawing while being drunk?
>>2834550
I don't do it. Doesn't seem like it would be enjoyable.
Is there an equivalent to cgpeers that isn't cgpersia?
To be honest, if I want to be some kind of art scholar both in theory and practice, I need to go to college and universities or I can get around with "free courses" like Gnomon, FZD school, torrrents and libraries, youtube, etc..
Both.
Art degree is worthless on itself.
Art school will only be useful to you if you're not disciplined enough to learn by yourself or through online courses.
lmao his style regressed
he's 16
lmao let's mock a kid on youtube instead of drawing
what a loser lol
>better than the /beg/ thread
That makes him better than 75% of /ic/ (25% beginner, 50% don't draw)
How does one develop aesthetic sense? How does one look at a piece and not only know that it is cosmetically rad as fuck, but the aesthetic is solid?
>>2846130
By learning good design.
Same as before.
take long walks on scenic mountainside routes while musing over the writings of goethe and nietzsche until your spirit ascends from sub-man to the next physiological stage, the rest should follow
Does anyone know anything about this piece of art? Specifically who made it?
I've searched all around and I can't find any information.
>>2850685
It's by an American artist named Norman Mills Price. It's called death embrace of Romeo and Julie or something like that. I think he has an online gallery.
>>2850752
Thank you so much.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj
>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>2845985
I got Linux and looking for a program that's similar to SAI Paint, is there any program similar to that?
Kirita?
>>2849239
you literally only 2 (TWO) options:
>MyPaint
mypaint is very polished and novel but it is literally just a toy. Good for doodling and experimenting when you're feeling down.
>Krita
krita is not very polished but it works like most other drawing programs, like any other program it also has it's own quirks. also there's animation tools if you are into it.
The gimp is not worth mentioning.
>>2849247
Krita has come a long way, I'd put it above the vast majority of other drawing applications.
Main thing it's laking is vector drawing for lineart.
I noticed that a lot of (young) tartlets are making closed species which is usually some vaguely canine looking furry with a slightly exaggerated features and color palettes
Can they really "protect" their species, especially in age of Pokemon and mlp ocs? Could/would they actually take you to court over it?
case in point: http://lordmarlon.deviantart.com/
There is a part of me that wants to spite these tarlets and draw all of their closed species in one big glorious orgy
>>2847148
there are only so many ideas or combinations of vaguely mammal traits somebody can come up with, so it seems pretty dumb to me.
Unless published under a creative commons license, anything an artist designs is automatically legally their own intellectual property. In using their designs, you can be subject to legal punishment if the owner of the rights does decide to take action, or blacklisted from selling in the market by the community.
You can laugh, but these teens make up to $900 per design in even just one auction (http://nemcrsd.deviantart.com/journal/closedspcs-muzumimi-565753399) by properly marketing one simply creative idea with about 5 hours of illustration and making other artists want to pay for the rights to make one of their own.
Its more initiative in entrepreneurship I've seen from most adult artists like you, who sneer upon them when nothing is even stopping you from taking advantage of the adoptable market, too. You'd look like an idiot copying the designs and getting sued when you should be taking a note and learning from them as a businessman.
Related.
Personally, I think it's fucking stupid. If I want to draw one, I fucking can.
Does anyone know of a good life model book/website with good dynamic poses. Ryan Ottley is my hero but I don't like practicing from other drawings, I prefer real life models
You have a cgpeers acc? There's a torrent there with some dynamic poses. It's called "Comic & Fantasy Artists Photo Reference Colossal Collection of Action Poses"
If you don't have an account or can't find it anywhere else, lemme know, I'll reupload it for you once I get home (will take about 8h for me to get there, tho).
>>2849762
Oh wow! I don't but I would really appreciate it. I have to sleep anyway so that would be great.
>>2849760
Ah... Ryan "I do foreshortening by omitting the lower leg and just draw the thigh" Ottley.
