Not sure if music works here. I've never been in this territory. Anyway, my first music composition.

Idk if it's good for /ic/ but I'm pretty sure /mu/ has self promo and prod threads.
>>2867902
yea i've posted there as well.
Hi, Who can give some ideas for tools or explain how this was made?
thanks!
>>2867768
It can be done in a variety of digital programs such as photoshop. It's just some simple shapes that have had some paper textures applied to them.
looks like watercolors
Digital art
Sketch to establish composition
Background of white
New Layer
Textured brush all over
Lock transparency and use dark blue at low opacity to adjust the color of sections of the wall
New Layer
Shift+click to get straight lines, draw windows
Paint shadows in layers with dark blue. One layer = light blue, two = medium, three = dark
Rotate canvas to angle
Erase out shine of glass
Paint in opaque details in blue and white, using Shift+Draw whenever necessary for straight lines
Done
Hey, does any of you know a good book on facial expression and body language?

I've listened to soundscapes a lot recently instead of music, this one is one of my favorites:

I love surreal art with complex and fun compositions. My favorite is Todd Schorr. Any other good artists like that? Dumping some of my favs.

What's /ic/ thoughts on photography? I find it really appealing but it's so easy compared to drawing that I find it difficult to take it serious.
I appreciate wildlife photography because it takes time and patience to photograph a subject you can't control
>>2866472
It's easy to get into and get good effects, true. It's not easy though to really get good photographs.
Visit /p/ sometime, you will see how much it depends on the proper choice of time of the release and other parameters. Ofc there's also shooting RAW, but then composition is everything and photographers go to great lengths to get good lighting and shots.
Lens change a lot too, not only in perspective distortion but also in things like bokeh.
And there's whole post-processing stage which is done to a fuckton of photographs and pretty extensively like for example in OP.
Idk, I thought first that photography is easy but expensive, though I'm not sure now about the first part. (second either to a degree)
>>2866684
Of course isn't easy, but it's surely easier than drawing. Mastering the technical aspects of photography can be done in weeks of you are talented.
I'm going to start college to study engineering.
I'm going to have some free hours where I have nothing to do.
What would be my best shot to improve?
Just do background drawings, life drawings?
I'm not a begginer, simply an amateur who enjoyed some years ago to draw.
Any advice to doing life studies?
What's the purpose of such studies (a little confused over why I should do them)?
How do I practice gesture and movement?
How do I learn to render textures?
So new on all of this, I've only done drawings from imagination.

STEMbro here.

Don't worry about it, you won't have any free time.

Oh boy. You're in for a nice ride son.
favorite painting thread? where is the good old oil or acrylic or gouache paintings? share 'em

How do people learn by themselves? Do they just draw everyday everything they see? How would that help you improve?
How do you improve by yourself, is that even possible? You can't possibly see all the mistakes in your drawing, how are you going to fix them? Even if you see them, how do you know how to fix?
How to self learn?
>>2859186
You draw something, it looks bad, you ask yourself why it looks bad, you fix that from now on. repeat
>>2859188
What if it just looks off? It's just plain bad and you don't know what the fuck to do.
>>2859190
Cry and understand that you're Not Gonna Make It.
Can you point me in the direction of how to make art like this?
Perspective and coloring are the only explicitly advanced techniques employed. Draw literally everything you do from here out in 3 point perspective. Stop crutching yourself with 2 point anime portraits.
>>2867600
I sorry but I didn't understand that last piece
>>2867600
also what is the best program to build art like this, I only currently have Photoshop
It helps my mind seeing rough sketch of good artists
What about you?
Seeing a sketch gives much more insight into how they think than a finished piece does.
>>2867598
A lot of Japanese artists seem to skip the construction phase for after a kind of developed rough that include gesture, figure, designing, and shit
I like that way more than heavy construction from the start, it helps the image in my mind go directly on the paper even if there are a few imperfections
Yo! I'm an artist looking to get involved in /ic/
The moniker I go by on insta is scriffty. I mostly doodle, but I currently go to school for art. Here's some junk i've done in the past. Hope ya'll enjoy.
and junk it is
stop using a name on an anonymity-centered website
why do you think you're higher than anybody else worth to use something to identify yourself

it's bretty cool, but use the self promotion thread
i just got done with pic related for someone for 10 bucks. beforehand i did the same character in a different outfit for free.
it just feels like someone who has a waifu, keeps requesting the same character, same shit, how could i not feel "guess they didn't like the first attempts :\"
I'm not doing this because i need the money, i like using my
>talents
to make people who can't draw happy. but i don't see the point in doing something redundant, even if they paid me. it makes my work feel like meaningless fodder.
am i just an asshole ? or naive? i get in animation you have to draw the same character over and over again, but there's a necessity, rhyme and reason.
maybe i'm not cut out for this hm
[ - ]
the fact that someone even paid for that makes me want to shoot myself. fucking disgusting.
your art is disgusting
if you are so fucking whiny about comissions then you should give up either way. but seriously, your art is fucking vomit inducing. please stop posting.
Honestly they most likely just wanted to see the character in different outfits. I do porn commissions, and it's the commissioner's waifu[s] 98% of the time (1% are husbandos and 1% are OCs).
If you don't want to be repetitive, don't do commissions. Like... if you're giving someone money to draw for you, you're gonna commission what YOU like. That's the whole point.
Got bored, so I watched some YouTube videos about Gimp and tried to make my own avatar. Your opinion? Complete shit, cringe or ok?
ok
Nice Gorillaz ripoff.

it IS noodle.. check the name of image
Prove that modern art isn't the best of all time. Pro tip: you can't
>>2865275
eskdeee xdddddd
Prove that modern art IS the best of all time
Explain what about it is so great
And how it's objectively better than old art
Try to avoid talking about subjective subjects as those are not possible to debate because they're different from person to person
>>2865275
it's literally one of the pillars that prevents the rise of a new hitler
I know that this might be hard for uncultured country bumkin swine such as yourself to understand, but think about it: "moder art" as you call it serves 2 purposes: it subverts and inverts key concepts that led to the genocide of 6 million of my people, namely beauty, rationality, merit, and objectivity.
when ugly is beautiful and when good is bad...how can you rationalize labeling one race as inferior or superior to another? you can't. And there stops genocide.
I'm well aware that Le modern art is bad and I was born in le wrong generation memes are popular in this board...but seriously grow up and learn a little bit of art history and the good that modern art has given the world.
