What the fuck is this perspective
Maybe they're just... really high.

I think the clouds are fucked is all.
Head looks as if that's the only angle they ever draw and decided to paste it on there
>>2879266
Literally just look for the horizon line you dumb ass
have you ever seen a drawing where the shading style was what you wanted to do, but didn't want to simply copy the artist? how do you comprimise with inspiration and just plagarism?
is this where construction comes into play?
Shading style? Easy, just apply to my own works.
>>2880439
but how? can you really break down a method just from visualizing?
>>2880456
Uh, well, yeah. You're trained to do that. Weren't you? How else do you study artworks?
Annie-May is based on the original characters may from pokemon and annie from the musical annie. (give credit do not steal)
the style's most characteristic feature is a certain sketchiness that looks good under the flash of an smartphone. thus a work can be called annie-may can be accessible to anyone with a smartphone and flash. the work should look good with flash on, as this movement is about looking forward instead of at ourselves (as the selfie movement propagates)
watercolor is regarded as the highest medium.
but why annie and why may?
annie referes to the western component of this equation; annie is sad and salvaged by wealth and given a chance to shine. The arts content, subject, background should feature scenes of sad orphan girls depressed. a chance to shine and make it is the metaphorical parents in this play.
May from pokemon is different from annie, she has parents, who live apart, she is our eastern component. She can be asian,
the arts content subject, background should feature scenes of happiness met with calm sordidness.
Annie-May can be most easily defined by the nose, not the eyes, as it a hybrid of east and west to form a lion like touty little snow white accent on a face crowned with lush.

Oh for fuck's sake
Just found out that my local art shop will be closing because the guy who runs it will be retiring.
What a shame, I always made a point to go there to buy my supplies, since it is worth supporting the place where you can actually go there to see the colours and brushes and inspect the canvases before you buy them. Anyone else here have experience of your local art shop closing? Is moving to buying stuff online any better?
>>2880103
> Local shop four years ago
> Decent town with high tourist traction in the summers, otherwise pretty dead 3/4th of the year
> Couldn't shit about art, but wanted to learn
> Helpful assistant shows me around pencils, grams of paper, inking etc.
> Nice service and picked up some supplies, and to top it off saying good luck and study hard
> Shut down last year due to low interest
Where the fuck do people like those do next?
>>2880143
That's a shame, I always love the atmosphere of an art shop, particularly ones run by people who know what they are talking about.
When my local one shuts that will be the end of a good supply of Winsor and Newton Artists Oil Colour, I'll have to order online now, which isn't so great since when you want to try a new colour it's helpful to actually see it in person, same with brushes.

Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Have you been in this situation?
I do not enjoy drawing, i just don't feel happy or concetrated doing it.
I like watching art but not practicing.
Is there any way to change this or art just isn't for me?
>>2877396
Not gonna make it!
>>2877396
Watch your hand and mind draw
A way to help with this is by drawing and practicing a lot

anyone else get super fucking sleepy after an hour or two of working on their stuff? my eyelids get real heavy. how can i make it if this keeps happening?
I get headaches 10-30 minutes into working and often tired. Just take a minute break doing nothing and get back to it.
If I'm interested in what I'm doing I can go for 8 hours with minimal breaks in-between after long days of barely sleeping at all. My problem is trying to force myself out of the comfort zone with practice, with that I usually get tired, bored and frustrated after 30 minutes, one hour max.
It's good to take breaks through, so take a good night's sleep, drink some coffee or tea and get back to it. But never forget taking breaks for naps, walks, or whatever. Just get away from what you're doing every once in a while.

Worst: Alcohol, Weed.
Favorite: LSD, Psylocybin
Negative: Alcohol - Unpation, very poor hand-moving, Weed - Imagination is somehow wrecked.
Positive: LSD + Mushrooms - Endless Imagination, If you drawing with ink for example the lines just show up on the paper and get you full image. You just trace them.

I love to draw on opietes. I have a severe opiete addiction and I've made it work for me. 80 % of my time high I draw so at least I'm gaingin some skill whil I kill myself
>>2877849
all I need, is a bag of weed.
Also post your imagination stuff.
>>2866102
I find myself drawing from imagination most of the time, though I know it's holding me back a fair bit so I'm getting into referencing a lot more.
Here's some of my imagination stuff.
When people say "imagination," do they mean creating original pieces (and maybe using a reference for subject matter they're not familiar with) or no references at all?
I constantly see and get told that even professionals use reference. I don't want to mislead people when I say "imagination" and I'm using a reference for a car I haven't seen before.
>>2866122
I just guess no referencing, stuff that comes from your mind and memory.
is art art? or is is is?
If it displays skill and conveys an idea
>>2880124
how ABOUT
the painting does the work for you, its art.
the painting needs to be spoken for, probably shit.
+ laws of attraction + concepts of aesthetics + nature + golden ratio + all of modern art history
When did you realize that you're not going to make it?
>>2868514
Never, and I'll never realize that because I am going to make it. So are you if you stop whining like a bitch, silence your mind and keep drilling fundamentals non-stop.
I am back to grinding Scott Robertson's book. See you on the other side, Anon.

I have an internet alias I use for videogames and pretty much everything else, I would use this same alias for a domain I am planning to start where I'd draw shit.
The problem is that I am extremely "radical" person on the internet and I don't exactly have the best reputation.
I would like to invent a new alias and I've already thought of a decent one, but I am scared of someone claiming it their own or possibly suing me for the use of it.
Just by googling, all I can find by searching with the name, is some music band and some sort of "CUSTOM SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT " website, although they don't directly use this name I've thought of, but add something to the end like "ALIASband" or "ALIASenterprises"
So should I be golden with using this new alias OR should I use the one I already have and trigger people with how fucking racist, homophobic, mean, pedophilic, misogynistic absolute madman degenerate I am on the internet? ( this does not reflect on how I am IRL )
>>2879849
why not just use your real name?
>>2879849
You can't sue someone's name anyways.
