should I bother using a fixative for my (nicer) sketchbook drawings
>>2884282
How should we know? If you want to keep those drawings from smudging then sure, spray fixative. If you don't want to bother then don't bother. What a dumb fucking question.
you can use hairspray, works just as well and costs less
>>2884332
Seconding using hair spray. It's surprisingly really effective.
Do people IRL outside /ic/ give a fuck if someone traces photos?
>>2884418
Yes, but only if the photo's copyright belongs to someone else.
>>2884419
do you need permissions to trace photos?
>>2884421
Yes
is pixel art a profitable field?

Hi lads, I worked on this drawing for a while, but I can't handle her hands, I tried several times like you can see on her right, but I can't find a decent way to make them... Anyone could help?
Here's the original pic'

What's a good tablet in the $2-500 range? Ideally one with a screen I can draw on, with pressure sensitivity and little lag. I don't know how unreasonable that is to ask.
>>2880326
iPad Pro or Cintiq
i bought a monoprice tablet from amazon. Im pretty happy with it and you can have them send you 2 or more if the first one seems off. That's what happened to me that i felt mine was off and asked if they could send me another and if i could send back the one i didnt want and they were like hell ya bro.
and it was only like 300. You could do that with the xp22 artist too i think. as long as you buy thru amazon.
>>2880328
iPad is not in $500 range...
Is it worth it?
I wouldn't know cause im a poor pleb with an intuos draw
>>2862514
I guess if you have a shit ton of money to blow, and find yourself in situations where you will actually be sitting around long enough to use one of those.
Ideally, something like that would be nice to have if you are waiting on the subway, bus or train or just waiting for long periods of time in general while away from home. Although from what I hear, the Ipad pro puts it to fucking shame. Its less expensive by comparison, has more uses than just a drawing tablet, better digitizers and less bugs. It has been so well received that Wacom panicked and started scrambling to compete by rushing out a sequel to the Cintiq companion.
That's what happens when you have a monoply over digital artists for such a long time and when competition actually comes around, they are so deep in shit they can barely make anything to give consumers a reason to deal with their sub par products any more.
>>2862514
is this the new tablet thread, I want to ask what people think about the yiynova models of 19 and 22 inches, I've been thinking about buying one for quite some time, they're worth less than a third of a cintiq 22.
Should I pick graphic design or Fine arts?
>>2884139
Both are suffering to be honest desu.
Don't go to school.
Get some job that is easy enough that you aren't tired when you get home to draw.

It's your life, inbred frog poster.
neither, stay home
Is there any proof that the person without talent can become REALLY good in it?
I mean like scientific one, or maybe you know an artist who started with terrible drawings and then became really good? I'm curious, because so far I've only seen quotes "Everyone can learn how to draw" but I've never seen any proof.
>>2883738
Just look at the early work of famous artists. Most were shit when they started out, just like everyone else.
"Everyone can learn how to draw" makes intuitive sense, because drawing is a skill. No one was born knowing how to perform any complex or competitive skill. And because that statement makes intuitive sense, I highly doubt anyone wasted funds formally researching it.
>>2883759
Meant to post this picture.

I'd rather you provide any scientific proof that talent exists at all. Some people might be genetically advantaged or disadvantaged in their ability to learn artistic concepts, but everyone still has to actually learn the shit. No one just "talents" their way to success, it takes hard fucking work.
How can I go about hiring individual artists in my city to do work for me?
I can't find any information on Google except studios etc. but that isn't what I'm looking for.
Any help? Links or something?
What do you want to comission?
>>2883802
Heraldic arms.
>>2884133
Do you have a sketch of the thing? I mean they can't design you a heraldic thing without knowing about heraldy
Also that'll be /gd/'s domain, maybe you can hire one of them there.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

How do I make art friends and get better that fundamentals?
by not making your own thread

I was encouraged to. My art teacher told me to socialize more.

Quit now before the realization that you'll never improve beyond the endlessly stretching plateau of mediocrity you will shortly find yourself trapped on
Hi /ic/,
I am looking to get some feedback on a current project of mine. Basically, is this something you would consider watching as a 30-minute film? Do you like the general aesthetic etc?
Id genuinely appreciate any constructive criticism

>>2881567
Yeah I'd watch that. It's neat. Reminds me of Heavy Metal or Interstella 5555 recorded on VHS.
>>2881567
I am sucker for 80's retro style and dirty synths, I love it.
>>2881567
so you were going for the new wave/retro 80's throw back trend that ended two years ago I presume.
It looks like crocodile asshole poop not joking. I think you underestimated the amount of skill it actually takes to replicate a style that existed before the day you were even born.
I'm being honest. You're experience in after effects is nothing but amateur foolishness. Fucking ridiculous to say the least. Absolutely terrible.
Reminder that a guy who draws like this ended up with a world famous anime.
Tell me again why you can't make it.
I can't write gag nor normal social interaction. I also can't design. I'm also not Japanese.
because I have no creativity nor ability to create a compelling story
WAOW, ONE GUY DID IT SO EVERYONE CAN DO IT TOO! XDDD LET'S HAVE 900 PRESIDENTS!
Discuss.
No.

Does no one here really not know about Zdzisław Beksiński...
I'm dissapointed in you /ic/ For shame.
