Do you find eye drops helpful in reducing eye fatigue?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
of course eye drops help. but if you're drawing for hours take a break at least once an hour. 10 minutes should be enough just go easy on eyes dude you need those to see what youre drawing.
>>
>>3115501

That sandy feeling is probably due to you not blinking enough due to being very focused on the computer screen. This is making the tear film of your eye become unstable/unreplenished from blinks and more likely to go to shit and evaporate on you. Eyedrops will help with that, or just forcing yourself to blink more often.

A different type of fatigue will also occur from your eye muscles constantly focusing on a screen up close to you + converging your eyes; regular breaks looking off into the distance is also recommended to avoid this. You can also ask your optometrist about glasses specifically for reading (theyre not just for old people!) which can do some focusing for you and let your eyes relax more. For these reasons you also should not try to learn your face too close to the screen.

Also if you're just painting in black and white, consider using a yellow (blue-free) screen filter like flux because certain cells in your eye regulate your sleep patterns through exposure to blue light.

how do people get this good in just 4 years? Maybe it's just me being an idiot for believing them, but apparently the pictures on the left are done in 2013, while the picture on the far right is done july of this year. Is it really that easy to get good at art in a short amount of time?? I drew for 4 fucking years and I still suck shit.. Can I please get some genuine answers on how the fuck this is possible?? If not I'm going to fucking hang myself because life isn't fair. And life is just so damn miserable repetitive suck at art shit day after day.

Maybe instead of posting shit threads, you should get back to work.

Study the fundamentals and always head straight into failure so you gain experience. Also left side are also portraits which is what right also is so we don't know if the artist sucks at everything else. But yeah others progress don't matter. Post your work so we can help you instead.

What's your primary motivation to practice art?

Do you draw because the title of artist is alluring? Put food on the table? The admiration of others? To get your ideas realized on paper? To convey a certain feeling? Anime girls?

what makes you tick

>the title of artist is alluring
I think it's more that the occupation is alluring, no cubicle and 9-5
>put food on the table
paying the bills is certainly a primary motivation
>the admiration of others
like every other human, of course
>to realize your ideas, to convey a feeling?
necessarily
>anime grills
no.

I think you're missing the main thing, which is that it's an enjoyable activity. That's why I drew pictures as a child, that's why I draw them today. It's fun, and as you improve it's increasingly rewarding.

Looking for advice specific to artists looking to get into porn.

I know making porn requires a strong foundation of the fundamentals, but I've noticed that there are some skills that are unique to porn artists, like rendering genitalia, protecting your identity, working around restriction of nsfw content, etc. How do you deal with this? Are there any good resources specifically for porn artists? Any general advice for beginners?

Why would they need to study perspective for this, isn't this "zero perspective" as there is no visible geometric structure? Or did you meant atmospheric perspective? Though if he wanted to add structures they're a blurry mess anyway.

OP needs to know more about rendering his clouds and etc. Also needs better edge control.

Why is this board so against purposeful, deliberate practice? Everytime I ask how to improve one thing, I just get mosly one, tired response "draw it more!". The point is that you can get better at doing something without doing it a million times, if you are smart about it. I am asking how to be smart about it.

Actually it makes sense now. You just don't know how to practice in a smart way. Why is /ic/ so stupid?
