Fuck wrong board, some mod delete this.
I have a challenge/request. Would anyone be able to take and change this artwork. Need it to go from a Blue Scaled Dragonborn to a Undead Blue Scaled Dragonborn with glowing eyes like hot embers and obsidian like eyebrows.
Whos up to the task??
Yeah hold on
>>2893038
so... are you trying to edit someone elses art to make it your oc or some shit?
thats fucking rude op just sayin.
Why are the visual arts so undervalued when compared to music and writing? It's always been so strange to me that abstract artists and the like are praised just as much if not *more* as artists that have spent countless hours to actually learning how to create art.
Like, why is it that visual art that's objectively bad (for example that one piece where the canvas is just completely blue with a few white spots here and there) can be called visual art and not trash.
You wouldn't praise a guy that couldn't play the piano for shit as you would praise Mozart, even if they were doing it under the blanket of 'free expression', so why praise abstract artists?
Value is subjective.
Next question.

Because music is entertainment that can be enjoyed over and over for hundreds of hours, alone or with company.
Writing provides hours of entertainment and creates entire worlds for people to immerse themselves in.
A picture you look at for a couple of seconds or minutes, unless it's porn.
Post something you drew so i can see your style so i can see which one of you i should ask for a commission.
If you dont take commissions but wanna post do it anyways but make clear i cant pick you.
>>2892856
How about no. Maybe if you say up front what your budget is and what you want to commission and what style you want then people might post their info, but if you ask like you did then artists won't degrade themselves by posting their work to have it judged by a stranger without even knowing what it is for. Fuck off.
>>2892862
Im not going to hurt your feelings anon, im just looking for an style i dig.. I plan om having four drawings, colored, four different characters one in each one, always facing front, seen from the waist up. Fantasy-like.
So you just woke up. You haven't drawn in a couple days. Feeling rusty, you decide to warm up with some doodles before you jump into your masterpiece.
Post your warm up scribbles /ic
I will in about 4 hours

Wtf?
I hate doodling. Rather go straight to practice.
Does everybody use After Effects for 2D animation now?
When did the industry switch happen from Flash to After Effects for animooted 2D?
Flash animators switched to ToonBoom, not After Effects.
>>2892092
Where is this "AE is for animation now" thing coming from then?
>>2892098
I don't know. I don't know what you're talking about either.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Why arent there any linear courses that make the difference? It's all "read this book and then that book and it's supposed to help you... I guess?" If not, well, happens. There really should be something that can be logically followed with real gains in the end, not just watching shit that is all over the place.
The best example is Loomis meme. I've gone through every of his book and I got a little better but not enough to tackle other issues that are not involved in those books.
Unless I have to understand everything after reading a book and I was just retarded from the beginning.

it's because the sticky is bullshit.

There are linear courses on how to learn art, but they are ways to learning a single specific type of art. Like traditional schools might have you start off by drawing from Bargue plates or some other course, then move up to drawing from casts, then painting casts, then painting bread for skintones, then drawing the model, then painting the model, then painting the model with props and costumes, then coming up with compositions and getting models to pose for you and so on. This leads to work though that looks a specific way, and it isn't what every artist wants. If you want to be an illustrator or animator for example it's not best choice, or if you don't want to do work that is highly naturalistic.
There are of course books that cover other things as well, like the Famous Artists Course is good for learning basic drawing skills and imagemaking (though it is in some ways outdated now) for an illustrator.
Anyways, it comes down to a few things, most notably that there isn't a single universal goal in art and therefore not a single universal path that can be followed. Don't forget that art is also a really deep discipline, so you can't really fit everything into a single book, or even a series of books. It's a skill that involves a huge amount of knowledge and decades of experience to master. You can get books that will cover a tiny sliver of the whole knowledge you need and study a bunch of them, and study a bunch on your own, and eventually you might have a full pie at the end.

what does the extra finger do in the right picture? why put it there?
I am seriously lacking in understanding forms and all 3D thinking junk. What would you recommend to watch/read for someone who's fucking bad with this?
>>2889790
Draw the basic forms like cubes and cylinders, but make sure to draw through them so you can see the edges that are normally not visible. Get used to drawing them correctly and plotting their perspective. When you are good at that try to fit them over the human body, like a cylinder for the upper arm, and a second one for the lower arm, a rectangular prism for the rib cage, one for the pelvis etc.
Cross contour lines are also a good exercise. Maybe try sculpting too if you are willing to invest a little in materials.
>>2889790
play in some 3d programs like zbrush and blender.
play with the camera.
you have a shitton more resources to learn from than pure loomis and 2d drawing
>>2889790
Get a piece of clay and try out sculpture.
Because drawing and sculpture is not that far from each other.

I finally got a tablet (tab a 10.1), to go with times and the pen doesnt make a too bad impression on me.
So whats the best painting app on Android, or at least in your opinion /ic/ ?
For now I would just use it too sketch and stuff, bringing my ideas back home without wasting paper.
Probably best would be a simple sai clone, as that's what I'm already working on, on my pc.

autodesk's sketchbook
Used sketchbook but its limited compared to painter (infinite painter).
Painter has better layers Photoshop level transform tools and great brush creator
>>2892863
Something I've done on infinite painter
>update tablet drivers
>tablet stops working
>look up solutions, basically uninstall everything and reinstall
>do it, which means losing user preferences and button configurations
>and the tablet STILL doesn't work
gee I wonder why some artists prefer traditional mediums.
>>2892125
Don't EVER update your tablet unless you know there's gonna be some fix that's necessary for you to draw
>>2892125
>using tablet buttons
