I have a good understanding of my fundamentals but I can't seem to get any art jobs. I did applied for a job a while back and my art got rejected. I'm not sure why? I feel like I have the technical skill to work professionally, is it my style that's preventing me from getting clients?
I'm feeling really depressed. I do post my work online but I barely get any comments or followers. Can't figure out what i'm doing wrong
Being good at art isn't the only thing that allows you to get an art job anon, but surely you already know this. Here's a suggestion why not try to know more people?
>>2933416
anon if pic related is your work then i can understand why you wouldn't get the job. its tb h bad. stiff pose, flat hair, literal triangle hat, wtf is that design? hints of crappy chromatic abberation, several parts are missing shadows. the mouth literally pasted on there. everything about the pic makes me puke.
i wouldn't exactly say you have a good understanding of anything friend, get some taste.
Unless the job description is drawing meh DA-tier animu grills, I don't know what you were expecting to prove with that pic.
If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>2930187
I can't find anime anatomy tutorials on tumblr.
got anything to share guys?
>>2932330
>anime anatomy
Don't be a dumbass.
Regular anatomy books will work just fine.

>huh duh realism works for anime
kys dumb memeposter.
anyone else loose the ability to 'feel' what you are drawing when working on a tablet?
>>2932202
define 'feel', like are we talking physically or what
yes and no. I find it more natural working with paper and pencil but I work better with my tablet. Besides it's easy to do a sketch on paper and then scan it in
>>2932203
yeah physically. with a pencil it feels like you are actually carving out the form. i dont feel that on tablet
>want to join an art college near me, does applied art
>look at paintings that grads did at a show
>get uncomfortable when all of their styles are nothing like mine or what I like
examples

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun!

What did he mean by this?
do you keep your lewd artwork on a separate account from your sfw stuff? if so, where do you draw the line between lewd and sfw? on which side does cheesecake belong?
What do anons mean when they say "overlapping brush strokes" in regards to painting/rendering and is it supposed to be a bad thing?
Hey, I can't find any book or tutorial that tells in detail about how to paint hands. I can never paint hands right, the colours always look way wrong and I don't understand why. Is there any useful tutorial or book or will I have to figure this shit out alone
>>2933808
observe from real life and colour pick from photos as well as good art.
that's how you learn to paint and colour most things.

I feel like guys like sycra, sinix, vetyr, yoh yoshinari, firez, nosebro get too much attention on here. I been following whyt for years and I honestly feel like he's an underrated artist. Can you guys on /ic/ help him become as popular as Mark Crilley.
We need to stop putting each other down and instead helping other artists get noticed.
xdddd nice bred xddddd bretty good xdddd ebin thred lmao fugg :DDDDD
Those frontal body shots looks weirdly decent compared to therest.

Thanks OP, but please don't make threads about me. Makes me seem like i'm some kind of self absorbed asshole. If you do like my work feel free to check out my apple black volumes on amazon:

Hi guys, I was playing Digimon Decode, and some of the artworks really caught my attention, so I decided to draw some of the old Digimon in this style.
How far am I to do actual game style?
Also, do any of you guys know the name of the artist of Decode AND the original style artworks? I've heard about Kenji Watanabe as the original artist, but his pivix are totally different from the original Digimon Illustrations, so I don't know.
OP here, this is one of the artworks done for Digimon Re:Digitize.
Games always have a certain style to them that isn't always the artist's personal style. Artists are able to adapt though and that's usually what artists mainly do, which is why it's always unknown what an artist even does when you check out their blogs.
>>2931989
But there's some artists that you're able to recognize instantly when you see some of the game artworks, like Tetsuya Nomura or Shinkiro.
Some new jaime jones stuff
>>2931011
Is this mixing sci-fi and fantasy? Looks pretty cool.
girlfriend is picking up caricature, this was the first thing she tried and I'm no artist to actually gauge if there is anything wrong with it. I think it's really good, any suggestions?
>>2930671
dump her
did she draw you?
looks like he smells like cum
>>2930671
It's generic as fuck.
It looks like a half assed cartoon not a caricature.
Where is the enlarged proportions?
>when you've studied so much you know what's wrong with other peoples' work
>but you haven't drawn shit so you don't even have half of what it takes to draw like them
>He uses a fucking gravel texture or something for the crowd
Don't try to diss the crab
>>2933550
I don't think you need to study much to understand what's wrong, you need to study to see ways you would fix it
