Where do I start with loomis

Kinda bland, and the composition isn't working very well. It feels more like you just added a spider to an image you painted based on a photo, rather than an illustration designed around your idea.
>>2935705
Yes I agree. And yes it is meant to be a virtual plein air and it turns out I picked out an area that wasn't too interesting to look at haha. Maybe it can be saved if I added more foreground elements.
what's the diference between studying graphic design and fine arts?
(I'm not american, to clarify).
Also, which has more girls?
>>2933922
The two are unrelated. Fine arts has girls who pose for you nude and graphic design consist mainly of girls who love typography and spam bee & popycat stickers all over their macbook.

What's the gender distribution on fine arts and graphic design?

Go to /r9k/ or /soc/ or something shitface /ic/ is for people dedicated to the craft.
Help me /ic/ what's your drawing routine? I just don't want to practice blindly
I usually think of some assignment to do per day and one for the week. Usually it's one because I don't produce work quick enough yet to warrant more. It works more often than not, but the hard part is creating up an assignment to do and be able to finish it in a day without using up too much time as well.
I'm project oriented. Whenever I get stuck on something I figure out how to overcome it.
As long as I keep doing stuff and being critical about it it's sure that I'll keep getting better.
I started drawing last year and I've been grinding boxes and organic forms for 4 hours a day. I think i'm pretty decent. I'm moving to faces next year. And then full bodies the year after.
most people on ic don't improve because they are retarded and jump into painting too early. i'm gonna be drawing for the next 5 years before i touch my paints. In 10 years, i'll be ruan jia level.
Which is better for sharing art and why? What are the pros and cons?
>>2927362
Deviant art is good for making an online portfolio
Tumblr is good for advertising yourself and creating a fanbase
can't say anything about the other two
Tumblr and instagram are the easiest for your work to go viral on. Deviantart is very saturated with tons of people posting all the times so you have to expend a lot of effort joining groups and posting your work in those and even then it may not lead to a lot of traffic. Haven't seen a lot of artists use flickr, mostly photographers.
It's best to pick a handful that you're going to use and keep those regularly updated than joining a bunch and then not keeping any of them up to date. I'd say go with facebook, tumblr, instagram and artstation which is what most artists use.
Setup a home server that just hosts a folder full of your art in png's of various dimensions
Post your work from development stages to final stages
People always tell me how my work looks great and how they aspire to be as good as me but I think they're just being nice that's why I decided to post here. Share your thoughts.
>Does it look professional?
no. unless you're thinking tumblr comics are professional
>>2932211
Jesus Christ, anon, what are those noses?
I mean, just scale it back a bit.
Anyways, no, it's not at a professional level. But it is entirely acceptable for a webcomic.

The drawings are nice but I guess it doesn't feel unique? Like the character designs, while cute, feel like something you could find anywhere on tumblr and seem really modeled after what's "popular" right now, E.G. like Steven Universe.
Composition seems ok, maybe a bit flat with how you place the characters. It would be cool to see how you handle different staging with character movement or more dynamic action. Double check your that you don't tangent too much either. It's not too distracting, but the dude's hair and arm in the second panel are doing some weird stuff with the wall. Then in the last panel the guy's speech bubble line is doing a HARD tangent where the grass and dirt meet.
The biggest issue to me, are the backgrounds. They aren't really designed at all beyond some simple lines here and there. It feels like you just kind of went "I need a tree, here I'll just do some squiggles and some straight lines," instead of making something that fits into this world of your's. Add some kind of life to it, something that makes it interesting, something that makes it your's. And smaller note, but just keep an eye on your perspective (if you decide to try and keep the perspective realistic), looks like it might've gotten a bit messy in that last panel on that pillar/ wall corner in the last panel.
It's cute overall and I think it's good start, but just doesn't feel like you put your own spin on it I guess.

When doing figure drawing in sets of 3min poses, what should I be focusing on? Getting a rough form? Outlining the details slightly enough to be able to tell? What should I specifically be thinking about if I want to improve?
>>2929771
thicc
>Getting a rough form
>>2929771
You should be thinking about what you want to improve on.
>>2929776
This. There's no rules of things. Focus on what you want. Gesture/short poses have sooo many different schools of thought and approaches towards it. Try stuff out, do what makes sense for you at the time and what you want to get out of it.
Who do you guys think is a more accomplished artist?
Wei Feng's piece
well I know Ruan Jia more than this guy so I guess Ruan Jia is the more accomplished artist
>>2929508
It's obvious RJ is better. He also came up with the style whereas Wei Feng is just copying it.
Poast them brushes that everyone should have
>>2931349
kylebrushes you muppet
does anyone have the brush that was used to paint this?
bump what are some good environment brushes for nature and maybe cities
What are your thoughts on this item?
I believe that this is how it shakes down. You want the 2262 (375)... but you want to avoid the 02262 at all costs.
