FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The original developer of the site has taken a leave for quite a while, originally due to medical reasons. Progress on the site is almost non-existant at this point. You can try contacting him at @LavaFlake or emailing him at [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>Your streak will go back to 0 and you will have to start again. No other penalties.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>There is no week system anymore, instead new users are given "streaks" based on the number of consecutive days you can submit without getting eliminated. (token losses do not reset your streak)
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.
there. kick rocks.

have you ever just slowly stopped being able to draw for no reason
Over the past few weeks I've just gotten worse and worse and less inspired and now I'm more or less back where I started a couple years ago
Is it fatigue? I've had a lot of non-art related shit going down work-wise.
I think it happens to everyone, we're all human

AFTER ALL DON'T PUT THE BLAME ON ME DON'T PUT A BLAME ON ME
I don't think the brain is wired to do one thing for so long. That's borderline insane, so it happens.
HELP NEEDED.
Here's my first digital art. I'm kinda proud of it.
I recently just got into art a little more as a hobby and I just bought my first tablet (Wacom Intuos.)
I need help with learning anatomy.. I can draw the front of people, but I have trouble when drawing from behind, kneeling, etc.
I'm also terrible with hands/feet. So I'd like anything you guys can link me to where I can learn anatomy a lot easier.
There are many talented people on here.
I like drawing anime if that helps at all.

How do I use greys?
use some subtle cycling of hues and perhaps a bit more saturated at the highlights
like this or something
cool pic btw
How the fuck do you draw with a tablet?
I just got one yesterday and I can't draw for shit on it, I can barely draw a straight line for fucks sake
Cintiq or Intuos-style tablet? Either way, your body just has to get used to it.
>>2936255
Intuos style, I'm a poorfag unfortunately
after a while if you keep doing it you can get it, or you could get lazy nezumi or something.
but after a while it gets to be like using a mouse , use it instead of your mouse for a while and you will get the hang of it. you know how you dont think about using a mouse .
Hi /ic/!
Can I get a crit on this please? I think i'm heading in the right direction I just wanna make sure my proportion and other stuff isn't jacked.

Would this be a helpful tool for a beginner learning how to draw?
>>2931254
Yes very much so.
It has some good lessons on colour theory.
It also has a surprisingly powerfull drawing tool.
It teaches you traditional mediums not digital as there is only 1 layer and the undo button only works on 1 stroke.
But overall very helpful.
>>2931294
Thanks, Anon.
>>2931306
No prob.
The Disney art academy for 3ds sucks though. It teaches you how to trace their stencils.
True meisterwerk
the tie isn't long enough.

NEVER FORGET.
i wonder what loomis farts smell like haha
Daily reminder that Loomis is a meme
If you want to draw what you're seeing: Keys to Drawing and grinding still lifes
If you want to draw from imagination: Drawabox by Irshad Karim and How To Draw by Scott Robertson, Hampton for figure drawing
>>2934003
Nah. Pic related is where studying Loomis gets you. Proko's kangaroo is where your approach will get you.
ok, hear me out guise.
i've been thinking i want to end up with a masters degree in arts/fine arts, so i've been looking at schools around europe for a bachelor's degree, but now, when i've already gathered my portfolio and kinda prepared myself mentally for applying, i honestly don't really know what i'll be able to do with that masters degree in the future. my artsy friends as well as google just give me very vast answers to what i would actually be able to do as a living after persuing a master's degree, like artistic research and teaching. i don't get it, what would be my actual realistic work options?
Furry porn

Honestly? Burger flipping. An MA in art means shit.
>falling for the art school meme
Hogarth > Loomis > hampton
>>2935053
O shit, ep4 is out??
>>2935053
It's exactly the other way around. Thought I'd let you know.
Hampton = Hogarth >>> Loomis

get on my level !
Pretty useless unless you're testing your monitor's "true color". Very subtle differences like this won't make or break a piece's overall vibe if you know basic color theory. I compared three rows individually placing one block left and comparing one by one, and then got lazy and didn't for the second. Fiddle with your display settings if anything, not your eyes. If I used my Cintiq's out of box settings it'd be a lot worse.
I don't get it, is it something that's supposed to be difficult?
I just spent a couple minutes on this, on a non-calibrated monitor
>>2933728
boiiii
Check out the horizontal lines/pattern in the hair.
>Huion
>>2933592
I don't get it, what's wrong abot them?
>>2933632
Appears to be inconsistent pressure sensitivity. You can see there are lines like a grid pattern.
Actually I think this is just a poorly designed brush.
