What you guys think about samurai jack artstyle?
Good shit
Didn't think much of it at first as a kid but as soon as I got gud in art I immediately appreciated how top tier the backgrounds and designs were
>>2931602
I really like them. The western approach to background art is really interesting to me, they focus a lot more on shapes, silhouettes, color theory and strong designs where as you see more realistic/grounded stuff in most anime. Samurai Jack pulls it off real well and all of their backgrounds are beautiful.
Why are people only interested in anime, tumblr and disney style when it comes to cartooning?
1. It sells
2. Lots of people grew up with disney movies and anime
3. No imagination
4. Other art sources are more obscure/less accessible
>>2927528
There are no other styles that look good.
Post an example of any other cartoon style that doesn't look like trash.
I don't want to color the original. Would someone else like to color the Kekistani person for me? Thank you for any participation.

Hi guys, I recently dropped my first mixtape and I need some support. This project took about 2 months to complete and I managed to finish in succession. I am an aspiring artist that is trying to grow in the music scene and since I do not rap, I mainly make instrumental beats. If you want, go check out my Soundcloud and give a listen, like, repost, or follow. ANYTHING IS APPRECIATED! :)

P.S: TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK, CRITICISM IS ACCEPTED.

Well, I think your shit's all fucked and you talk like a fag.
This is how you make it to the top of the concept art industry...

Correct. You do what the clients and art directors want you to do, even if it means plagiarizing work.
To get a job you don't need to be good. In fact in many cases that's a detriment. You only need to follow orders.
>>2938142
Yes anon, I'm sure art is the one profession in the whole wide world where you don't need any qualification whatsoever and companies just hire artists as some form of adult daycare charity project.
Because we all know, the art department in charge of the art direction and design of a multi billion $ Hollywood project consists of just a bunch of trained monkeys whose only skill is being able to "follow orders", but when the toilets are clogged in building 2A, they'll hire a skilled, certified plumber to do the job.
>>2938171
You obvioulsy need to be somewhat qualified but if you look at the human characters in >>2938142
there is a base lacking ability to even move past stick figures. Most of members of Unmotivated losers could produce better shit than this.
Been studying fundamentals for 2 years and I still can't seem to grasp anything. What am I doing wrong? I draw lots of boxes and form exercises too
It may have to do with the fact that i'm autistic. But isnt kjg also autistic?
I like your art style. Honestly, yeah you can improve but I think you made some neat progress for 2 years. You did prettywell with the expression and the outfit design. It takes a lot of creativity to pull that.
>>2937500
>falling for the fundamentals meme
>>2937500
Is that all you've being doing? You should also make a good effort to learn from artists you like, study their work by copying and apply your fundamentals to that
Post art that resembles the aesthetics of Dark Souls.
more please, trying to find inspiration
>tfw you now understand the see everything as boxes meme
I knew making it would be beautiful, but this....
My friends, I have seen the face of god...
post your work

welcome to the club, son
Whenever I browse pixiv, I see artists that are already producing so many peices that are relatively decent. My question is, most of these people aren't even making money so what are the chances that people striving to learn here are gonna make it
>>2937195
They learn as well. They even have a dedicated tutorial section.
>>2937195
People here get commissions when they're pleb tier, there's not a huge bridge for a lot of western people to commission chinese/jap artists.
>>2937195
How do you know they're not making money though?
>draw from your shoulder
Do people unironically do this, or is it just a meme? Why the hell would you unnecesarily complicate the drawing process
>use reference
Do people unironically do this? It's basically cheating.
>>2937044
When you draw from the wrist, it limits where you can draw without moving your arm. When you have to draw out of that range, your line will get wobbly from you having to adjust your hand's position to move your arm.
When you draw from the shoulder, your arm is already moving, so you don't need to waste time adjusting.
>>2937047
>why would someone make drawing easier?
Hey, does anyone have a PDF of Silver Way that they'd be willing to share?
Didn't that book come out like a month ago? Probably not. Just fucking buy it you little shit.
>>2936099
Why do you want that? Stephen Silver is the reason why Proko sucks at drawing from imagination
>>2936120
>Stephen Silver is the reason why Proko sucks at drawing from imagination
what? What does he have to do with that?
Anyone know 40k? Recently my wife saw me trying to use photoshop to draw and asked me to draw us together. Herself as a Sister of Battle and myself as a Stormtrooper. It didn't go well, IMHO. Any advice for a new Phd user? This is the rejected base frame version.
>>2938025
remove that fucking nose
I post all the time but my art never makes it to the front of the alt stylization whenever a new thread is created? Why?
>>2937616
a better question is why would anyone care about something like that?
>>2937616
you couldve just asked for it. chico is a nice guy.
