Is it an alright idea to practice construction for an extremely simplified model before eventually learning proper anatomy?

yea its good idea actually, learn how to break down body parts into boxes/cylinders in perspective. it will help a lot
>>
>>2937080
That's how you SHOULD learn it. OR else you'll end up like those guys who know every muscle in the body but can't draw for shit. Or the people who draw super rigid figures that are anatomically correct.

Is there anyone who can draw this good and is willing to produce similar smutty art? I commissioned this artist a while back but he's very slow. I'm willing to pay buttloads of money for this.

How about you just wait patiently for the porn you paid for instead of asking for free shit on 4chan?

Nsfw artists . How are you so confident about drawing porn. Do you feel ashamed sometimes? Does it affect your portfolio as a employed artist? What if somewhone find out? And how do deal with judgement?

It's a Huion h610 and yea, it's pretty good, worth around $60, a cheaper alternative for Wacom intuos. Been using the pro version for about a month.

Consider getting a glove for smoother lines and maybe a rechargable pen instead of a battery one - it's lighter and lasts longer. All in all, you can't blame the outcome of your work on your tablet.

cool!

Is art school really a joke? It seems like it's not well received but sometimes I hear about anomalies like FZD. If I want to be able to produce work and make a living off of it, wouldn't it be better to train and receive the logistics from professionals through education

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?

>The original developer of the site has taken a leave for quite a while, originally due to medical reasons. Progress on the site is almost non-existant at this point. You can try contacting him at @LavaFlake or emailing him at [email protected].

What do we draw?

>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.

What's a low effort warning?

>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.

>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.

What happens if I'm eliminated?

>Your streak will go back to 0 and you will have to start again. No other penalties.

How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?

>There is no week system anymore, instead new users are given "streaks" based on the number of consecutive days you can submit without getting eliminated. (token losses do not reset your streak)

Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?

>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.
there. kick rocks.

What is harder, storyboarding/animatic or making comics?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2936953
They're both pretty much the same except you have panels you have to arrange in comics and you got to think about how you place your text, so comics seem like a bit more work

storyboards imo are a kind of comic, but it has more rules other than "pictures of the same ting in sequence and maybe some text". But harder in what way?

Is it possible to draw comics with just pencils? Skipping the inking and just darken the lines with level adjustment. How would it afffect in the printing process?
Usually I like inking quite much but sometimes after the pencil phase, I feel that I'm done with the drawing and lose interest on inking it.
I did a test page with only pencils and then tried to fiddle it via Photoshop. There are probably some functions that could get rid of those white spots. Or just fill them with brush.
Could something like this work or does it look too lazy?

>>
Sure, why not? Agree with other poster, there are no rules. Anyone that tries to tell you that you MUST follow the "sketch, ink, color" triage is fucking wrong.

> or does it look too lazy?

I don't think art is so black and white (pun intended). Even if it was to "look lazy", maybe that would make your comic unique; and if you didn't like that look you could learn to spend more time cleaning up the art to look better in print.

Also good to consider different textures of paper and ink types when (re)printing. Maybe there are some combinations that may work better for pencil/graphite.
>>
it could definitely work, that pic look good albeit a bit sketch like. if the strokes were more uhm purposeful there would be no question about it

Hey guys I need some advice. First off I fully admit I am a shit at drawing.I fully admit this. In fact I know rule 2 is a thing but fuck it.

Basically I have this autistic story from my childhood I've been imagining since forever, and even though it's retarded, I started writing it out. A few years later I've written 320,000 words (almost 560 pages in 12 point TNR). However it's very fragmented, I've jumped around to different points trying to get around writer's block. I've always imagined it cinematically and I feel like even though writing is "easier", I really want to represent it visually. The problem is I have no drawing abilities whatsoever. I thought to overcome this by making pixel art storyboard/animatics to tell the story. Pic related is the first scene. However if word count to frame count is at all proportional, it's only 1/627th of my story as is which itself is only 5% of what I would need to write. However with something like this I can also skip over a lot of description with montages so that helps.

I'm sure I am near character limit so I will continue in the next post.

So as you can see my pixel art really isn't much better, but a lot of that is because I really wanted to get the damn thing finished because I am realizing I will never finish this thing if I spent forever on every little scene. Then I realized, perhaps it would be quicker and easier to just draw like I normally do when I make my shitty art, where I draw on index cards then ink and scan. It's certainly comfier than drawing with a mouse but even so it takes a bit of time. Less than the pixel art but it also looks shittier.

So now my question is: which to choose? I made a ton of bad MSPaint art for a video trying to describe this story, but that was an extremely bare outline and was also 35 minutes long. I cannot draw in MSPaint (I can't draw at all to be honest) so I am wondering if I should get a cheap drawing tablet so at least I don't have to deal with my lines being absolute shit.

I estimate I have something like 20,000 frames I would need to draw to tell this story so even if I made 10 per hour (quick sketches) I would still need the equivalent of a year of full time work to accomplish this. That said I could probably cut it down a lot if I tried to, depending on how much detail I added. I have worked on quite a few more index cards of later scenes in the story but they are frustrating me.

Anyway I know this is really autistic and barely qualifies as art critique but I was wondering if you guys could maybe help me decide which avenue to pursue.

Another option: I do what I usually do and turn up the contrast and color in paint or paint.net. However this takes almost as long as the pixel art in some ways. Although the work IS less aggravating and especially so if I were to be careful not to draw too many places I need to fill in a lot of tiny gaps (like trees and vegetation).

I also have some vague musical talents. Nothing special but it means I can at least write something tolerable to accompany these scenes. Not sure what I would do for dialogue, yet. I can't do voice acting as my voice is spergy and lispy. I can't even imagine doing a female vioce.
