Is Tie Dye /ic/?
No but I love it
Check out @dead_dye on instagram
Why? It's garbage.

lol, this bait.
For those of you who have experience with Bargue, how was it? Is it good? Or does it leave you as some copy-machine like Proko?
>>2958116
It's good but yes, it teaches observation and control over your medium. You won't become able to magically invent things from your head because of it. Use it as training for your eye and for understanding values and edges and things.
Also be aware that modern ways of copying Bargue are different than historical ways. Do what makes sense for you.

>Also be aware that modern ways of copying Bargue are different than historical ways
???
Sight size is a modern invention. But depending on how you look at it, even Bargue is pretty modern. The plates were published in late 19th century. That's hardly historical.
Draw something utilizing varying shades of two different colours of your choice.
Does grey count as an independent color, or can we have two colors of varying saturation?
Here's a picture of the art, I have more detailed pictures I can post
Any tips on how to go about selling it.

I don't have a scanner, only a shitty camera phone.
Are there any public ones I can use? Like at a library perhaps.
Not really sure if thats a thing, I know libraries have public printers and charge you per page.
Also why I need a scanner is because I have traditional drawings I want to make digital copies of.
copy shops have scanners usually. Depends on what shithole you live in.
>>2962628
When I once had only a laptop, I would go down to the local library to scan in my drawings and upload them to deviantart. It just depends how updated the library is.
How am I supposed to draw with these things? The tip is always too soft.
>>2962365
I want to know how you're meant to shade with them. I always end up breaking the lead when trying
>>2962374
Buy better quality graphite / change to a softer grade so you don't have to press down hard. I've never had 2mm break, even with cheap chinese lead. You're doing something wrong.
>>2962724
>too soft
>change to softer
Great advice
Do I have what it takes to become the next Ruan Jia?
I've been drawing/painting 10 to 12 hours daily for the last 2 years or so
It's not bad, but if you want to be the next Ruan Jia you need to start making some meme tier color statements. Photostudies won't cut it.
another one
>>2955008
>you need to start making some meme tier color statements
what do you mean by that?
Wtf is with this board and it's obsession with "making it"? Not everyone here cares for putting in multiple hours a day everyday. /fit/ isn't even this obsessed with this meme.
Not everyone here is interested in the same goal
"Making it" is either
>working as a professional in a studio
>being a freelancer
>being good enough to do commisions for quick cash
>or simply just getting good
Some people around here are just hobbyists wanting to get better, some grinding fundies to get money for their craft. I think only a few want to make it big.
>>2962509
say it with me boys
NOT
GONNA
MAKE
IT
It's the same way you are obsessed with shitting up my board, op.
Why the fuck is the Mona Lisa famous?

Nobody gave a shit about it until 1911, when it got stolen from the Louvre. It was missing for 2 years, and became legendary because of it. It was an easy topic to gossip about.

Anyone has a good method of sculpting and sticking in place very thin, little parts? The point of the upper crown are annoying me to no end. I've redone it 3 times.

Why are books on sculpting so hard to find?
That's why "Anatomy for Sculptors" was kickstarted.
>>2961322
Also video tutorials. Can't find any that are worth.
>>2961322
Sculpting isn't as accessible as drawing. Not even kidding, it requires more tools, more space, and is more intimidating, so less people get into it.
But a lot of the skills that make for good drawings will help you make good sculptures. Gesture and anatomy especially are gonna do a lot for you.
Anyways, there was a tutorial on ConceptArt.org but the images are gone, so here's a link to an archive. http://floobynooby. blogspot .com/2010/08/3d-maquette-tutorial.html
