Hello, I've made a video about preparing the canvas for painting. It is my first instructional video, how do you guys like it?
>>2985690
why are you old, I don't want to be old ;___;
>>2985690
what
I didn't think people of your age come here.
Pretty interesting.
It's an alright video, nothing really special though.
If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>2982147

shitty self promoting but we ain't mad
keep working on your stuff man
I bet you'd like this
Do any anons have artwork that is personally very meaningful to them that they wanna share? Pic related is my grandma's first painting for years, she was really nervous before doing it but was so happy when it was finished, happier than I've seen her in a long time.
That's neat. I'd be proud to hang that up in my house. It looks like she's generally got talent for art
Something about that painting is very relaxing.
>>2980541
I'm glad you liked it :) she's been an artist all her life, just didn't paint for quite a long time
Show me them self portraits. I don't care if you're uglier than Mickie Rorke.

Well if you're gonna talk like a faggot this thread isn't going to take off
Let's tutorial thread
Dumping all
Viewing tutorials is a waste of time. Rather make your own.
why does every futuristic design nowadays have to have random glowing shit, anyone else fucking hate it?
>>2985578
Did you really need to make a thread for this?
>>2985578
looks futuristic, that's the only reason. we used to have no glowy little details, now we have some, with LEDs and what not, so in the future surely everything will be glowy.
Games like this one give me the eye pain.
Trying to get better at my art, any advice with help tyyyy!

looks good imo for a digital piece?... if i had to pick one, the left hand, at first, seemed off. But noticed maybe it needed shading where the inner fingers meet the top palm to create depth. Some will or might criticize the nose and eye placement being close. But not everyone has a symmetrical face. Again, shading may help clarify this.

How are you so good?
How much does being able to draw from observation factor in being able to make good art from imagination (or with minimal use of vague references?)
Is it a necessity? What do you think? Will it be much harder to have a good eye without a good amount of drawing from observation? Does it provide knowledge that can't be found in books?
Whether you are drawing from imagination or from real life you are trying to portray an image within a medium. You do not necessarily need to be proficient in one to be able to do the other.
But they are complimentary, and philosophically the difference is not absolute IMO.

i hope you aren't using that image to prove your point

Best twitch streamers for art?
Bob Ross
so many shitters on twitch creative it's actually unreal, the ones who have their fundamentals in order/better than /ic/ average are the ones with under 5 viewers anyway, just go to the bottom of the list and peep the thumbnails. you'll find a gem eventually
It's all attention whores and idiots. Usually both.
On having a huge ego. I think it is a good thing in conjunction with self awareness. IMO, the optimal scenario is that your ego is big enough you can criticize yourself and accept criticism from others objectively without feeling discouraged.
It's those with a fraudulent, fragile little ego who cannot take criticism and improve themselves.
I believe having a big ego will consistently be advantageous as you progress through your career. You should believe that you are the ultimate - the conclusion of all the universe evolution to this point. And that you are gifted with the deepest insights into human nature and what it means to render light tied to human story. It's simply a matter of learning to make good art.
The important part is to never let your ego guide you into delusion. This is the fools folly. Any intelligent person will be so confident in themselves that they will quickly correct it and shit all over that misstep with pride. You should feel glee everytime you correct your path. You will need to do it every time you create and make creative choices.
When its all said and done, those who believe in themselves as having transcendent potential only achievable through work and self criticism will make it.
I'm inclined to agree with you, a mentally weak person that lies to their self and others cannot make it, without doing some serious self reflection and changing their behaviors.
>>2984877
>t. someone with a huge ego
The optimal scenario is having no ego.
I kinda have to agree. I find my lack of self worth, lack of self confidence to get in the way of actually drawing far too much - wasting time I could use to quell my lack of self confidence through practice and improvement.
A degree of ego would be handy.
>Been drawing few weeks now
>All fine and dandy, starting to be able to make something that resembles human
>All until i hit a wall
/ic/ i seem to be completely be unable to draw feet nor face for my characters.
No matter how hard i try, they'll resemble something you'd find on a stick figure.
Also, I've been noticing that all i do is draw the to torso and up. I love to draw like this, but i think it's for the best to try to draw the whole body so i can progress my drawing skills in general.
Any of you guys met the same problem, if you have, how did you overcome it?
>>2982854
You draw those things anyway even if it's frustrating cause that's literally the only way to improve and get over it. Use reference and follow loomis, he has books completely dedicated to teaching these things.
Pray to our Lord and savior Jesus christ that you may draw legs
>>2982854
Draw your own feet, take pics of them, or get a gf and ask her.
Bur that's the way and also take a look at feet bones and muscles.
