So this just in. It is actually cool now if you have less followers on instagram/deviant art
According to my mustache if you have anywhere from 20 to 200 followers you're actually cooler than an artists with a range of 3 thousand plus followers.

Illustrator master race.
The whole chart is missing a conceptual component. How creative & clever you are can set you miles ahead of someone who is an boring, unoriginal hack - even if your fundamentals aren't as strong as others.
Thread for trying to find old art supplies and things.
About two years ago, my Dad gave me a pad of drawing paper and it quickly became my go to sketching paper. It's got a good tooth, nice weight, and my pencils and pens work well with it. I absolutely love it.
Unfortunately I lost the front of the pad a while ago and now I can't find out the make and brand name. I've been trying to find a similar paper at art stores, but no luck so far.
Anyone have an idea what kind of paper this is?
borrowing this thread, promise to give it back. has anyone tried synthetic/polypropylene paper? thoughts on it?

Ah, the beautiful shrieks of a Not Gonna Make Iter.
>>2983248
That's not bad at all. If you were trying to be realistic just call your art a caricature, bam. This is an actual style of drawing, you're not shit.

Hi there, /ic/
I'm a beginner game-developer who is currently entertaining an idea of a game.
Why did I come here?
Because i'm at a complete loss as to which art style would suit it best. Besides I so not know a lot of modern artists.
That's why I was wondering if you could point me to where can I look at different artists' works for reference.
pic unrelated
artstation is the only good spot anymore
This is the most amazing view you could have. Can't even imagine how much the rooms are just for the view.
>>2989306
Maybe you could also name some artists whose style you like, too?
>Have decided to stop drawing completely
>It only entertains a dream I'll never achieve
I wonder if I'll start up again someday.
>>2989293
Could you at least tell us your dream?
If you're not drawing for funsies you haven't figured out how life works yet.
>>2989293
Not with that attitude
You see these are some artworks of mine, lately I have a lot of free time and I get to draw A LOT more, I have this mind concept about my drawings but you know, my
technique isn't that good.
some advices so I can improve?
1/4
This is a picture that was on my friend's hard drive. There's something so captivating about it but I can't pinpoint the exact reason..
>Could it be because of the odd 3D look, that still looks good?
>The attention to detail?
>The fact that the Xenomorph is making the first move even though it is playing Black.
>The previous point making even more sense since Alien (1979) came out before Predator (1987)
>How the predator holds his wine?
What do you think /ic/, what could be so captivating about this image?
>>2989094
probably the 3d thing, i'm quite a fan of weird 3d tableaux myself
>>2989094
Its simply the detailed realism combined with such outlandish "unreal" characters.
Nothing
What's the biggest tip you've ever gotten on a commission?
>$25
>>2988371
I don't think I've ever gotten a tip, but the most memorable artwork payment I ever received was from an asian woman. She paid me with a stack of 100 brand new $1 bills in a bank currency band.
How do I get a tip? Do I ask for a tip? What's the best way to imply you would like extra money for your work?
>>2988384
I don't ask for tips unless there's a more complex thing to do, it just happens if the client feels generous
Hello everyone this is my first ever post here so I don't know if i'm doing this right, but anyway currently i'm creating my own cartoon called "Yo and Paige" (It's still in early development) and here is an early sketch of the two main characters. I was just wondering if some of you could give your opinions on if they both look good or not, i'll probably draw full separate sketches of both the characters soon and post it here so you can all see what they properly look like.
first of all, you might want to read the sticky and git gud
...but this is actually kind of cute even if it is shit
you'll have to get much better at art before you make anything of it but keep drawing, this is endearing and i like the potential you show. keep chugging
Sorry I apologise I actually did just read the sticky thread and also thank you

Is this all it takes to work at Cartoon Network these days?
Besides lol NIGGER it's actually a good deal better than what I see coming out of Cartoon Network's craphole these days.
>>2979497
You're kidding, right? This character is stiff as a bored and there's nothing interesting about any of her designs.
>>2979498
Yeah but that's the same with literally everything else on CN except this at least has form.
What does /ic/ think of Robert Porter (Robaato)'s art? I've been trying to mimic his shading style because it looks very visually pleasing, and the way he exaggerates anatomy works well IMO.
>>2988591
Posting "What does /ic/ think about <insert artist>" threads should be punishable by partial dismemberment.
>If you like the style, and you're trying to mimic it, what the fuck do you care what this barrel of assholes in the corner of the internet think about it?
I think it's the shadow/coloring of somebody to whom shading and color is and afterthought. There doesn't seem to be an established lighting direction and he just throw in grey where he wants to give an impression of depth, the boobs. If you like his shading then I would guess it's because he has a better understanding of anatomy than you.
>>2988636
Considering you are from /IC/ yourself I think we have your blessing to ignore your opinion.

If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
