Is this long-standing meme dead, now? I mean, of course it is still sprayed everywhere, but looking around the board you can see compelling examples of how the average /ic/ user is actually pretty good at drawing. The /beg/ threads are nowhere near as populated as they were years ago, due to people improving beyond that point or leaving /ic/ and quitting. Meanwhile the more advanced threads are as alive as ever with loads of examples of fantastic work.

If I do Hand Drawing, and want to scan the pictures.
I dont feel they look the right color compared to the real thing.

Do you have any tips about Scanning stuff?
black and white
and colors probably use different settings... no?

Nothing other than scan at the highest optical (not interpolated) resolution that the scanner is capable of, at the highest bit-depth. Even if you're working in black and white, keep it in color mode, and disable all post-processing features in the scanner software. Then edit exposure/brightness/contrast/hue/saturation in Photoshop to try to get as close as possible.
>>
Scan everything in color at the highest resolution possible in .tiff format with no compression.

You're always going to have to make adjustments to the color in Photoshop though. When I scan my paintings I find I have to create an adjustment layer for each color to tweak them just right.
>>
>>3004944
scanning never comes out the correct color because it's shining a super bright white light onto (and through usually) the paper and pigments. better to take a picture with a camera in indirect sunlight

Bad anatomy and perspective. You got lazy and tried to hide the right side limbs, so the arm is the wrong length and the foot is positioned wrong.
Not that anyone's going to notice or care about that in r34.

IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:

#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead

#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller

#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

I'm writing a comic to test as a webcomic, then as a pitch to publishers.

I feel competent, I have a decent following, however I still have a long way to go.

Could a style like mine make it? And when do you know you can make it?

Pic is my commission work, I make a healthy profit from my drawing for individual clients, but no big projects.

Okay, how the fuck can one achieve this level of mastery of pencil work? The linework is tight as all hell, spot on stylized anatomy, architectures sick, lighting is perfect...its just ao consistent from Joe Mad too.
And to make all of this even crazier he probably did this in one day because it was for a Marvel book. My dream is to be a professional comic book pencilier, but you see this guys work and its like...fuck man...is mastery of this calibur only availible from sheer talent? I mean besides all of the tens of thousands of hours people need to put into drawing to become a master, can you only get THIS good through talent and genetics?
Anyway sorry for the ramble. Working artist (not in comic books though :(. ) and I just really needed to ask these questions and get this off my chest.
Also cause why the fuck not, Comic Book Pencils thread, post your favs and inspirations.

Yea I've been diving into his history a bit and saw that he was influenced by Arthur Adams who is amazing in his own right. It does help to see where the creator you idolize gets inspired from.

Bacon is quite good but you definitely picked one of his lesser works for the OP.

Will manga art replace modern "art" in the met 20 to 50 years from now?

Our generation is losing interest in this garbage.

Most people under 30 I know would rather go see guardians of the galaxy than look at a messy drip painting made by some drunk alcholic dude.

It just logically seems like the step forward for contemporary art.

No it won't.

Modern art and what you call drip paintings by alcoholics is for rich and highly cultured people. It's created for upper class with the purpose to separate them from the plebs, not to be the most popular.

McDonald's and subway aren't ever gonna compete with five star restaurants, despite what you think taste best.
>>
>>2989452
Nothing will replace the Met's catalog, to sell it would violate the terms of it's corporation - the works it owns and displays will always be there. (and be free for display - you're encouraged to donate to get in)

They may open more galleries for new collections, like they did for modern art collections, but manga? Doubtful, as they focus on Western art. (They have commercial art in their collection, so the idea isn't that far fetched)

we have consumed the same food for thousand of years, but the demand in art have been literally changing from generation to generation

I am making a 12000 x 8000 px art but Photoshop crashes and is slow at that time. Takes me 6GB of RAM just to have it open.
