>Tfw It's so easy to make sci fi shit using photoshop
>tfw it looks so much better than my figure drawings
It's so unfair.
;_;
Literally a textured sphere.

I can guarantee your figure drawings are more interesting than a textured circle.
>>3030472
show your spheres
So CSP is so much better than photoshop.
What are the must have brushes?
>>pic unrelated
>>3027946
I find CSP better for inking work, like comic lines, mimicing a real fountain pen etc. But for painting it's not really better than photoshop. I have trouble getting results the same as in photoshop with csp though I believe its entirely possible. I still can get decent results with it.
As for brushes I haven't found a special one or set that really helps. I think I might have even used just the g-pen with opacity.
Airbrush is a helpful brush in any art program. I'd say the basics are probably good enough, because I can't even remember what I use when I do paint in there even though I finished a sci-fi environ just a few months ago with it.
there are some called "daub" or something, theyre on cgp, idk if theyre must have but theyre pretty nice
I can ink in Photoshop just fine.
Why does everyone say that CSP, SAI, Painter, Krita, etc all have better inking capabilities?
I have a weird problem. Im only 18, and ive made different art accounts at least 10 different times now. Each one, i would leave because of something like i get into an austic racist fight over 4chan and people track my identity, or i erp with another artist on tumblr. Basically, everytime i create an art account, i just end up deleting it a few weeks later. This really demotivates me. I dont know what to do honestly.
My drawing isnt that good. Does ic think i should just give up on creating an online portfolio for years and focus on improving my art? The only problem is having an online portfolio was the only thing that motivated me.
stop getting into fights. just dont talk to anyone and post work.

namefag with me and youll get away with a lot!
hello humans, there some paintings that intrigues me.how can they look so realistic with not much level of finish, while some there some other that are very polished and look artificial, what makes this happen?
>>3025644
colors, values and edge control at finest, and starting with big shapes first.
>>3025644
On very simple terms, something is "realistic" if you can infer light hitting objects on a space/structure. Light can look very complex but it always follows certain rules we can at least feel, if those rules are broken, you get incoherent lights and shadows, which will give you an artificial look no matter how many details (polish) you add to it.

This
I knew a guy who could describe more with a few clean brush strokes of varying sizes than i could with literally hours of scratching away at the canvas. Just get the large areas down first with as little painting as possible, then the image looks cleaner. The worst thing that beginners do is make several brush strokes for something that could easily be described with one.
A month ago I posted my ink cell drawings on /ic/ and got some helpful critique from it.
Meanwhile I started using watercolors and pens. What do you think, /ic/?
I don't feel particularly "good" artistically but I am getting better with handling my brushes and pens. I am also practicing figurative art in the form of sketches so I get some actual skills.
How to make webcomics and what kind of knowledge is necessary?
What kind of informations are you eventryng to get? Just study good series and try to understand why they work better than the rest.
Composition is a big one, whenever possible if you can explain something visually instead of via text, you should.
You need to know how to tell a story with images.
>yfw you use a dildo when practicing studies
>>3030347
I'll be the judge of that. Post some proof.
>>3030347
If you meant to draw the dildo, then it's normal. We've been there, done that. Right? RIGHT?!
haha epic post friend.
Do you think some people just lack a fundamental unlearnable thing in their nature or being that just makes then unable to draw no matter how much effort they put in?
Anyone can do anything if they work for it. Unless you have donkey brains.
>>3030060
Maybe, but you'll never know until you try.
>>3030060
>Do they exist?
Sure, I think so. But the real question is
>Do they make up a significant amount of the population?
I don't think they do, it's more akin to having a rare disability or something imo. Like I think anyone can learn how to do anything provided that they're sufficiently motivated, can put in the proper effort and have the right resources. The genetics and talent all kicks in after that and maybe it'll help you become truly exceptional because you have an aptitude for it but even those without a natural aptitude can still learn things to a high degree. There are very few people who are incapable of learning things, some may have a tougher time than others but they can still learn.
How do I get inspiration to draw some cool lewd poses?
I see some people simply redraw pictures into "anime" version, is there another way, tips, etc?
If you don't have the spark for lewd poses and aren't always thinking about them, then you'll need to read and watch lewd things. Study them like anything else in art.
>>3028510
Yeah I try to draw hot girls but they don't look very sexy in the end... they just look like they're standing there naked.
>>3028480
Why do you wanna draw lewd? Why would anyone that doesn't have a billion nasty images and ideas in his mind would want to draw lewd cartoons? What's your motivation?

So, I have this enormous struggle in thinking "what kind of background should I do?", whenever I illustrate a character.
I know the character in this illustration is fine, but the background just kills all the composition. Yes, It's a very very lazy one.
How can I learn to do backgrounds that won't kill the entire artwork?
I'll post an example of an illustration that has a well-detailed background which doesn't kill the entire composition.
>>3027599
Here's the example
>>3027599
Most of the time when you struggle to come up with a background, the real problem is that you don't have a clear idea of who your character is and what they are doing. If you know those 2 things, you should also have a rought idea of possible locations where they would be at while doing whatever it is they are doing.
If the background kills the composition, why didn't you plan a background composition when you first started?
