Does grayscale to color work well? I'm working on a large painting right now but since i suck i can only do it in greyscale. will i be able to color it later? does the process work well?
Coloring over greyscale has been around for a while. Afaik, Rembrandt worked like that as well.
Just do a bunch of color studies of a similar subject or palette, you'll have to learn color eventually, grayscale or not.
Value does all the work, color gets the glory
Your artwork in some way resembles mine you are stealing my style, PLAGIARISM

Back to Croquis cafe.
Why does drawing look so easy yet it's so hard?
>>3044013
Because the tools You use are basic, with just a pencil you can make a masterpiece. Assuming you know what you are doing.
>>3044013
>drawing look so easy
there's your problem, if you think that draw looks easy to do then you're a pleb without any trace of common sense.
>>3044061
also, not gonna make it
Right. I've had it with modern life. Jobs are soul crushing. Finances are like a noose. Everything's shit and artificial and expensive and made through animal or human torture. And I think this drawing I made comes a little close to expressing how I feel.
You feel like fat-lipped Lorax?
Like Miller's Joker! So you must be grace under pressure.
>>3044001
LOL had to google dat
"Michael Jackson's chimp Bubbles is now an artist and he's about to have an exhibition - with paintings on sale for up to $2,000. Other primates putting their works on display include stars of 'Planet of the Apes,' orangutans from the movie 'Going Ape!' and NBC's soap opera 'Passions.'"

I think those look pretty cool and I'd hang them on my wall.
I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for them though.
>>3043890
they have exhibitions for all kinds of dumb stuff, this doesn't have anything to do with the art world. $2000 is also not much, if it were 'where the art world is today' they'd be $200,000
Hey guys! First time visitor here, looking for thoughts on my recent little doodle. It's a suicidegirls model.
>>3043392
I'd fuck her brains out if she was real/10
If you cut a torso like that, there would usually be some blood and viscera showing. The eyes and lips are also too large.
I was about to comment on the expression, seeing as the character seems weirdly happy about her predicament, but I guess it's fine, she is a suicidalgirl after all.
>>3043398
she is real
HELP!!!
I've been wanting to make a graphic novel for a while, but I haven't progressed past the script and rough storyboards due to my lack of artistic talent. I can draw, but I want the style of the comic to lean towards realism. Which I do not have the talent for.
What do?
>pic related is a bit more abstract than I want, but close
Are you looking for reference images in a particular style or are you seeking to contract someone?
>>3043308
Well, I guess contract someone. I wouldn't know how to go about that though..
Describe the general concept and give a blog or an email address so that someone can contact you...
What you think of this picture?
I´ve ordered it on Canvas
It looks like a picture that would hang on the wall of a poorly renovated hotel room.
hideously tasteless shit made for normies
Does anyone on /ic/ know of some other good sketchbook tours like the ones Sinix has been doing as of late? I ask because typing in "sketchbook tour" into Youtube search does not yield very good results...try it, you'll get what I mean.
Well, if anyone knows some other good showcases of improvement and experimentation by skilled artists, drop it here please.
And if you haven't seen Sinix's tour vids, start here and keep going, they're damn inspiring: https://youtu.be/iaNgLyPZMac
I'm not too sure what you're after-
a tour through an artist's sketchbook, or a tour through a currently accomplished artist's old sketchbooks. I'll give Sinix's videos a watch and I'll just leave a few links here.

I remember watching this when it first came out, and being really fucking inspired. Now this guy is a pretty awesome animator.

There's a bunch of these sketchbook videos on the channel.

I think KNKL started using it 3+ years ago? I like that it's not super presentable, just some messy scribbles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX_cIzpiluY
Ruanjia's sketchbook. Just interesting to see and hear about his thought process.
James Gurney has two mobile apps where he shows his sketchbooks. They're not free however.
Only anime sketchbooks are good.
I doing a woodcut, now I'm gonna add some color layer. Can't decide between these two versions which one you think is better?
The bird is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rufous_hornero
Heres the second option.
>>3041018
man that beautiful, go with the first option, its very graphic and tasteful
interesting choice of subject, why not do it closer to the real bird, seems to have a nice rusty brown colour.
of the two, the first one i like the most
