>1 element is off and you have to study it
>Element you want to draw competently happens to be very difficult and you need hours of study and grinding and is a broad subject to study
>tfw you are just sad and tired and want to get over it quick
Everything leads back to fundies eventually, nothing more to it.

Whenever I put stuff on tumblr the stuff I'm really proud of flops and my halfassed sketches get lots of notes.
I want to buy a Hajime Sorayama, where do I start?
>>3059751
An original? Start looking for an art auction house or gallery that specializes in 20th century fantasy and science fiction artwork. You may have to be patient.
If this guy is a perfectionist, why is he not a better artist?
Checkmate, gaytheists.
Because that probably means he's focusing on tiny ass details and not the whole picture.
Perfectionism is the greatest foe of improvement. Learn to fail.

But shoot some you'll land among the stars
My father gifted me a Macbook air for my birthday. I used to draw with paint tool sai, what program should I download for drawing that works on my Mac? I'm just a beginner though, I started drawing digitally around a month ago.
>>3059474
Just get photoshop. 10 bucks a month now.
Sai might have a working port. FireAlpaca looks like a popular Sai clone. There’s also Krita.
Can you guys point out what is wrong with my gestures and what to work on? I feel like I am not doing it right and I am getting frustrated trying to create form at the same time I keep a nice rhythm.
I am following Michael Hampton.
i hate having this thread every other day

Shouldn't you be drawing instead of looking for ''threads like this everyday''?
Are there any tattoo artists in the house?
I'm wondering if it is realistic to get the pic related done in about a 5x5 square area. It was done with a fine tip pen and i don't know if it will translate well to a different medium (skin)
I read that as "the breast untamed" at first
if you get an artist that's specialized in dotwork tattoos, its doable
>>3058441
It's a shitty design but it should be readable at that size
So, anyone in here into pixel art? How long have you been doing it? Have you made sprites for any games? Pic related, it's some oc I made a while back.
A pixel art thread already exists.

Please check the catalog more thoroughly next time before making a new thread.
Thread's thataway

W.I.P.
Halp.
The main thing I see is the orange reflection cuts off too quickly. Makes it look like there's a pit in the water.
Also, think about adding a smoother transition in the sky itself. Such a small section being the only part lit up doesn't seem natural to me.
Finally, the left section seems lighter than the right section even though the light is in the middle. I know the dark parts is because of the clouds in the right side, but the sun would have more of an effect on those in that case.
Apart from those, good progress.
What are your goals?
What are you currently doing to achieve them?
Mine are
>Learn how to draw Humans, Animals and heavy machinery
>Solid construction with decent rendering skills
>Currently doing Michael Hampton to learn anatomy
>Also doing Peter Han Dynamic sketching to increase construction skills and increase visual library
>>3059171
>Trying to make a comic and get into animation later down the line
>Currently trying to internalize Scott Robertson's How to Render/Draw along with the Dynamic Bible by Peter Han
Also, my line work is still ass so I'm working on that too.
>>3059171
Long term, to draw the weird shit I think and dream about. I love Ancient Egyptian shit and ancient civilizations, I want to draw stuff related to that.
I used to write but more people are willing to look at a picture than read a whole book
I also program so maybe design an interactive graphic novel of sorts.
Currently going through pic related, though swapping out Erik Olson's course with Vandruff's one on perspective.
>be a god
>study everything
lol
I just started using digital art. Is this any good. Anything I need to work on?
stop making threads faggot

"I love you because I know no other way."
Pablo Neruda is a poet and politician from Chili who earned the Nobel Prize of Literature in 1953. This quote is a part of one of his love Sonnets, Sonnet XVII.
Tremendous tremendous poet. He's earned every accolade he's received.

How do I master rendering? I got decent at it but I want to be really good at it. What's the best book or tutorial or whatever to learn it on a master level?
You can't read your way to good rendering
Do lots and lots of studies from references and apply what you learn
Rendering is very time consuming
>>3057194
There's not much rendering in that painting, it's mostly lumpy drawing with some color layers on top.
>>3057207
this is why I stopped listening to people on this board
What is the best software for oil paintings? Sketchbook is horrible for it, the oil brush doesn't look like oil at all. Manga Studio is better, but still not good.
I remember seeing once a software where you simply deposited an amount of paint on the screen and then used it, very realistically. Should I use one of these? Couldn't find any on the internet though.
>>3058655
I know you're gonna flip out on me but why not just learn to make oil paintings
>>3058659
You're right, but I don't have the drive for it. Maybe another day.
>>3058664
well this ended quickly .
you could try art rage or corel painter. they are a few of those realistic paint engines.
ok so i want to get better at colour theory. what tips do you have on the subject? also any books/youtube videos that teach it are also great
pic unrelated
James Gurney's Color and Light is very good. Also read the sticky.
But for quick tips:
>plan your palette based on color schemes like complementaries, triads, etc
>pay attention to saturation too, not just hue and value
>for an overall warm image saturate your warm colors more and desaturate your cool colors (ie. use bright oranges and greyish blues), for an overall cool image do the inverse, or use all saturated colors for a more energetic mood or all desaturated colors for a more somber mood
>small areas of high saturation or very different hue from the rest of the image are good for establishing focal point
>never ever paint an object in consistent hue or saturation, vary these for far more realism and "life," especially in lit vs shaded areas
>basically play around and try to judge what looks good, don't just use the first colors that come to mind, experiment
