doing some sorta photostudy - thought I'd post wips for c&c rather than getting butthurt when I think I'm done. I'm trying for a loose style, wide grid.
full ref pic here
how should I tackle this mess-o-fingers?
nose bridge is too wide, her eyes look too close to each other but that might be because of the bridge
Post paintings that need more loomis
Photobashed garbage with no sense of proportion, hands going to feet and the chair is too low to allow to sit ergonomically, I think we'd all agree this fucker needs to grind some and then some.
Are copying tutorials a good source to help artists progress?
Post results from trying to mimic tutorials, found this one on pinterest
sure, like any other sort of studies, as long as you're learning from it.
I was going to reply about how bad of a tutorial that it is but if you don't know why it's bad, you might as well do whatever it takes to just keep making marks until things click and you realize you need loomis
>>3068931
when I started off in my first year I deliberately looked for "bad" tutorials of people who weren't extremely skilled, but still a bit better than me. It's easier to learn from them rather than people eons ahead of you when you're a beginner. you wouldn't understand a quarter of the stuff of someone better anyway
Any Canadians know anything about Syn Studio? How the quality of their work and teachings, especially curious about their concept design diploma. From the handful of alumni work I've seen it's really nothing impressive so I'm doubtful.

How does one get a good follower count in deviantart?
>fanart
>upload 4+ times a week
>have at least some decent skill
>suggestive/nudes
>upload to 100+ groups
do people still use deviantart?
Always upload your content to groups
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>3065876
>sticky filled with old books and dusty references
>all the info is available in video format and updated through a modern lens
>easily found on youtube
>live demonstrations on top of easier to digest knowledge
what's the point of wasting time reading the mountain of shit (frankly no one here reads most of it anyways) when you could just watch a video? isn't it time to update the sticky?
Who the hell watches videos for information? Are you retarded? Illiterate?
>>3067100
we dont have a mod, no matter what we do the sticky wont be updated. in the mean time you can use the /beg/ thread sticky and help us improve it.
>>3067101
people who don't want to waste time going through dozens of hours of reading when someone can summarize it in 30 minutes. enjoy wasting your time
I have a dilemma. I want to be good at everything from comics, to animation, to illustration. I want to be good at creature design, human anatomy, facial expressions as well as drawing varying bodies and faces, mecha, industrial design level architecture and vehicles.
But I feel that if I don't specialize I won't be good at anything!
>>3065620
It's possible to become good at it all, but it will take a long time and you likely will never be world class in any single one.
>>3065620
The good news is that it's possible
The bad news is that it will take you a long ass time
>>3065620
welp, best start as soon as you can. it's a long road.
>he doesn't take anons drawing requests in drawfag threads.
>he works for free
it's not my fault your request was either retardedly detailed or just bad. If you have shitty ideas, commission them.
>>3062540
Sometimes I go to those threads when I'm bored but 99% of the requests are just asking for lewds so I end up doing nothing
Hi guys !
I'm not sure if I should post that here, if not, please tell me where I can go.
I wanted to learn a little about hentai industry.
The truth is, I'm considering creating a blog or a web page where I could post some of my hentai drawings I will make in the futur. There are two purposes : First, to get better at drawing anatomy with time. And second, to see if I can get money from it.
My point is not to be crazy rich or anything. Just to see how much I could get.
So, my first question is : What do you think would work the better as a drawing subject ? Do you think I should try drawing vanilla stuff to get more people looking at my work? (Big tits, or big dick are quite vanilla, but those are fucking popular), or should I go into rarer stuff to get sure to have a "solid public", who will be ready to pay for it hard ? (I'm not talking about illegal stuff like Lolicon)
My other question is, how much can worth a single drawing from a professional hentai artist ? Do you know some numbers ? 100$ for a beginner ? 50$ ? Probably less? Or maybe more? I can imagine that a pro hentai artist can sell his work for hundreds and hundreds of dollars, but I'm not quite sure for a beginner. Of course, it will depends of my skill. Maybe I just could sell at different prices depending on the client, and the request ?
I put one drawing here so you can judge by yourself. Not perfect anatomy and shit, but the point is also to get better at anatomy.
>>3069478
Sell commissions for no more than 10 or 15 dollars each. Only start doing commissions after you get better at your """hentai'""" drawings, and have a decent number of followers on wherever you make your blog. Draw whatever subject matter you like and if you're less shit than you are in the OP pic, the audience for that subject will find you.

Hey im new to sharing my work on social media or web and i need some advice
What social media you guys prefer to share your work and get more exposure?
Wich one you think is more worth the effort?
Or you guys just share your work in all of them?
Is there any decent social where people are interested in buying comissions?
also sorry about my awful english
Tumblr sounds like what you're describing. Twitter is also a nice alternative as Tumblr as of recent has been going out of their way to censor and block any posts which may be even slightly offensive. Deviantart would also work but that website is slowly dying. Pixiv is Great but you can't really interact with the community if you don't read Japanese. Artstation is also great but it is a website for professionals hoping to get hired by studios and so the skill level "barrier to entry" is very high. Just look through the websites and pick the which ever one's you like the most.
Instagram works very well, I think deviantart still works for commissions and stuff. you could put a link on your insta or anywhere to the site where you want to get paid, unless you want to use email for that then just put your email there
Is my construction okay?
I usually don't reply to these threads, but I can suggest you to let yourself more loose and try looking away from your drawing and seeing the reference so you can spot on the erroneous details
my advice for you is to check out micheal hamptons book, thats where i learned construction
>>3069170
the details are fine, the hands are nice, the feet are nice the head is nice, but the proportions are all..out of proportion
How do I get rid of this grid. I have all snaps off but it's still there. I use FireAlpca.
