How the hell did America lost against rice farmers?

Bad PR caused by fighting rice farmers.

France lost. America just walked away because popular opinion turned against the war despite the army inflicting humongous casualties on the ennemy.

>Opposing force achieved their objective in the war
>America failed to achieve their objective in the war
>We didn't lose, we just left
Jesus christ America get over it already.
France Lost
America Lost
China Lost
Vietnam are just GOAT
They didn't they had a much better k/d ratio and they would have won if it wasn't for those pesky journalists and elected representatives

It had no coherent conception of what it would mean to win. Read Kissinger.
They weren't willing to go full force on North Vietnam. They could have bombed the dikes for instance, forcing N. Vietnam to accept the American terms eventually.

Believe it or not, war is not about killing as many people as you can.
Sun Tzu realised this 2500 years ago. You're more stupid than a gook 2500 years ago.
I always wonder if these kinds of threads are baits or just newfriends.

k/d ratio is irrelevant and its fetish is the reason why the US lost the war
OP: USS Missouri did too few tours here mostly because it hurt USAF that the only time Ho Chi Minh trial was broken was when it bombed it with its main artillery, long years of bombing from air couldn't achieve what 2 ~60 days long tours on the coasts of Vietnam did. Overall too much focus was put on "le kill as many charlies as you can because they must be total carbon copy of the japs we've met on Okinawa" meme, to little on "capture strategic positions, cut Vietcong out of foreign aid, destroy their logistics(well they've did try to do it but since USAF is useless parasite, they couldn't)".
