those may be examples of Buddhist groups going astray but in terms of actually examining the teachings of the different religions and what the founder of the religion said, Buddhism and the teachings laid out by Buddha are the most tolerant in terms of explicitly advising tolerance and denouncing intolerance.

Regardless of how it has sometimes been practiced by groups in its long history there is no religion that has a greater emphasis on tolerance in its teachings then in Buddhism.
