>tfw on blueprint for armageddon
>literally 20 hours of discussion about WW1
thank you based carlin
>>570626
>open the last (6th) episode of Death Throes of the Republic
>"We're going to finish this today, no matter what."
>5 fucking hours long
I laughed when in King of Kings, he mentions that the entire series was him trying to find a starting point to talk about Cleopatra.
>>570647
that happened to me too
but i thought blueprint for armageddon, given the name, was going to cover both WW1 and WW2 and the cold war or something
but holy shit 20 hours of ww1. based.
>discussion
LMAO
>>570626
Hurry up with the next episode Dan, I'm losing interest.
>>570647
>King of Kings,
I am critical of this.
I'm starting Ep5 tomorrow morning. I should be able to finish making chili before it's over.
Is it worth it to pay for the other shows? I've listened to most of the free stuff already.
>site is down for 2 days for "updates and maintenance"
>site comes back up
>no new bedtime stories uploaded

It'll probably be released in September, realistically. He does two shows and HH is released pretty much 2 or 3 times a year.
This is literally meme history by an edgy "comedian".

what's up with your bum discomfort?
>>570743
Listen to an audiobook of an actual historian, fedora.
>>570696
Everything but the really early episodes are worth it
Damn, I just finished that series yesterday. I mostly had it on while playing Verdun
>>570747
why?
If I want actual history, I'd rather read a book.
If I want a fun bedtime story I'll listen to a podcast, you autist.
>>570747
Recommendations? Not memeing
>>570793
>bedtime story
Who are you calling autistic?
>>570747
I love history as much as the next guy, but sometimes I want a good story told by a good storyteller. Dan Carlin is a good story teller. His voice is pretty god tier soothing too.
>>570803
the person who is angry at other people for doing things they like
>>570626
Thor’s Angels is 4 hours too.
>>570626
Reddit rates this guy pretty highly, are we meant to like him?
>tfw Blueprint for Armageddon 5 made me cry
>>570626
Yeah, or you know you could just like... Get an audiobook.
From a proper historian.
>>570626

Basing what you like on what reddit likes is reddit 101
I like Dan. I hope one day he gets that HD DVD quality video of the Battle of Carhae he's been wishing for.
>>570734
Last one came out in October. I would guess February or March. A good 4 months or so.
Where do I get the first episodes of this thing?

His last dozen or so shows are free on his websites. Older ones are purchasable there as well.
>>570626
>So how did the war end? Tell me.
>The war isn't over. Millions are dead. Europe is mad. The world is mad.
If only he'd drop everything and do blueprint 2.0 for WWII.
>>572582
WW2 is overdone.
French Revolution when?
>>572593
Holy shit my dick would explode for a french revolution series

>>571823

>>574747

>We HAVE to win. If the Russians do a fraction of what we have done to them, there will be no Germans left alive.
That part, right?
>>575146
Yeah the people are just arguing and he stands up and he's this veteran who took out like 10 tanks and he says how this is do or die
>>570696
you can literally find the download links for the mp3 in the raw html.
>>576120
Are you sure? I've looked through most of his pages line for line and can't find it
don't think he could do anything better than the Khan set
>That story of the young German soldiers with flowers in their ears singing Wagnerian ballads going into battle in 1914
>They're mowed down by the thousands
>>576247
>His description of Verdun
>Returning soldiers marching like the dead with hollow stares
>They even lost the strength to complain
Shit...
>>577483
But war is a jolly lark, Junger said so. Look at this chap, he's having a whale of a time.
>tfw blueprint literally changed the way you think about life
i may be having a bad day but i'll never have a drowning in the mud kind of day
In before "he's not a historian!!!!"
As though the definition of a historian isn't anyone with an interest in history and researching then publishing days worth of audio on historical subjects doesn't make him more of a historian than 99% of people on this forum.
