Lots of Cities have flags. Some are great some aren't.
I'll post city flags itt.
Here's Amsterdam's. I think it's a great flag.
Here's the Hiroshima flag. I have yet to find a Japanese city flag that isn't good.
Here's Dublins flag. Not a real big fan of this one.
If only you knew how ugly city flags could get.
It has a fucking Trademark symbol on it.
North Korean regional flags are really cool IMO.
As this anon has demonstrated, Australia has really shitty flag design.
If you look through their history you can see it's mostly them trying to use the Union Jack.
This is because Australia is a shithole.
Germany pretty consistently has great flags.
Well, I guess I might as well dump the Liberian county flags
This is flag of Daejeon, South Korea. "It's" is reverse acronym meaning, Interesting, Tradition and Culture, Science and Technology
1) This appears to be an old, dated version of the SPM flag.
2) 4channers in /int/ and sometimes /pol/ go nuts over this flag. I believe they're a bit blinded by their love of RARE FLAGS, however, to appraise the thing more reasonably. It's also a meme territory which is close to both Canada and the Lower 48.
3) However, although I don't think it's terrible, I do think it's overrated and way too busy, trying to be all things to all people. Also the ship (and this is also true in the wiki version I'm thinking of) looks like a hokey 70's era design from the front of an old book cover, or a seafood restaurant's sign or similar. The type of place where Ron Burgundy and his news team would have a bottomless bucket of Shrimp with some scotch, Ron wearing his Captain and Tenille hat all the while. People say they hate Maryland's state flag (an incorrect opinion, it picks one bold, busy, unmistakable design and sticks with it, having rotational symmetry), than someone else turns around and says they like the SPM flag.
4) Most importantly, the SPM flag was designed all of 30 years ago, and it's /not even official/. Most of France's territories actually don't have their own official territorial/regional flags, apart from the French national flag. An exception to this is French Polynesia.
This is like a production company card at the end of a half-hour cartoon program. Like Klasky/Csupo, Rugrats or similar.
Which if you think about it, actually makes a lot of sense, because much of conventional animation is (was before computers I guess) farmed out to South Korean shops, who "finish" the episode, season, whatever. So it's reasonable to suppose that someone associated with such would go on to design a hideous flag that isn't even in your national language.
the classic that is the Provo, Utah flag
My town doesn't have a flag, but it has a Coat of Arms.
It's based on the story of the Argonauts, here they disassembled their ship and carried it on their shoulders to the Adriatic Sea.
Time to mix up this shitshow with some top tier flags
I don't like the Habsburgs, but the Cross of Burgundy was the GOAT Spanish banner
Interestingly enough, this was made when Milwaukee held a contest to design a new flag... and one of the people in charge just took elements from the best contenders and dumped them into this abomination.
Bizarrely enough, there's a perfectly good flag in the bottom left of the gear. What the fuck, Milwaukee.
This one was designed by a schoolchild.
He did not get an A.
I can think of at least two things wrong with that flag.
Man, what is it with Koreans and words being flags?
I think it's hard to find something uglier than that flag. It looks pretty uggo.
My citys representative logo is a bit too elaborate but at least they put some kinda effort in it
This one is from my hometown. Cozls be worse, i like the coat of arms
Franz Josef land was dicovered by Slovene sailors sailing under the Austrian flag in the middle of the 19th century. It was formally annexed to the USSR in 1926.
Argentina has the largest Slovenian diaspora as a lot of people had to flee from Yugoslavia in 1945. They've always been really active and still speak Slovene and upkeep traditional Slovene customs to these days. Estimates set the number of Argentinian Slovenes to 120,000.
To put the thread back on tracks, here's my city's flag.
Not bad. Native symbol right in it. Sorry about that genocide but your casinos drain wealth from our stupider citizens so we're cool, right?
