Red army was a decent force in late WW2 AFTER 2-3 years of learning german strategies and tactics paid with the blood of countless soviet citizens. You won because you sided with the allies that kept your Industry and logistics running via lend and lease. You could muster the millions of men to adapt german tactics and "won" in the end. In truth the allies used you to exhaust the Wehrmacht (which lost cause of bad political leadership: instead of arming opressed nations like ucraine commence untermensch and the vast underestimation of russian realities regarding geography and population) only to reap the benefits in Overlord while you got shit tier countries in eastern europe. After that you wasted your superpower status by military overexpansion even dwarfing the US by far. Great job, most of the time you recieved the short end for the most ressources invested.
