Are Samaritans closer to classical Judaism than Orthodox Judaism is? They still have a clergy and expiate sins with the blood of the Passover Lamb.
>They're wrong because they made shit up.
There is literally 0 linking anywhere in the Pentateuch between a Passover offering and forgiveness of sin. It all comes from the New Testament, via Paul, presumably because Jesus was supposedly crucified around Passover and it fit that narrative.
The two sacrifices have nothing to do with one another.
No, they did not.
Removal of Tu'mah was done with the red calf and ashes, not the Paschal blood, which was splashed on the altar, not on people, and again, was an act of national affirmation, nothing to do with sin.
>For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD. For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one. That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary. And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
>For a festival Hezekiah just kind of made up, being in the wrong time
>Even mentions how the Cohanim and Leviim were ashamed.
>Oh, and by the way, it mentions how the "unsanctified" had their animals killed by the leviim instead of doing it themselves as per normal (and thus shouldn't even be on the temple grounds at all except to get purified, but Hezekiah is already bending the rules)
>Which is why Hezekiah is praying for their pardon.
>Thinking this proves anything.
Our resident tripfag is quoting 2 Chronicles chapter 30 as "proof" that the Passover offering was some kind of purification or sin offering, while conveniently leaving out a LOT of context.
So? Christians celebrate pascha every week, even though we mainly use Pascha to refer to what is called Easter in the West.
Why do you Pharisees get so butthurt over the guy not celebrating it in the proper time, when God very clearly approves of what he's doing?
Samaritans also have the correct holy mountain.
>Orthodox Judaism was formulated after Islam.
That's like saying the Catholic Church was formed in the 4th century. There were centuries of debate and discussion beforehand.
Because you're trying to use a singular and bizarre event to try to demonstrate the purpose of the passover. You remember that one time Moses uses a "fire" snake to prop up on a pole to clear up the plague mentioned in Numbers 21:6? Clearly, God wants the use of copper snake totems as a replacement for antivenin. Oh wait, no, that's retarded and nobody says that.
Similarly, your attempt to prove that this is the purpose of the Pesach festival and offering from a narrative that takes several verses to stress how out of the ordinary this event was is equally retarded.
