How frequent are germanic threads on this board? Are they completely butthurt and shitposting-infested?
/pol/ has been so fucking annoying during their existence they've created a large animosity for whatever they preach about, leading to a large amount of people shitting on /pol/tards just in reaction to how annoying they are
I'm also a fan, I'm currently learning German and dealing with the insane grammar and cultural rules, I've worked in a Germanic establishment for years now (I'm Austrian) German people are objectively fine, it's just the flood of moronic American young adults who circle-jerk each other into infinite to validate their faultily constructed fantasies
I'm mostly mad at /pol/tards because all they do is give ammunition to the left to call actual conservatives crazy neo-nazi Dylan Roofers
There used to be one butthurt polack from /int/ who constantly made anti-viking threads but that's about it afaik.
>I'm mostly mad at /pol/tards because all they do is give ammunition to the left to call actual conservatives crazy neo-nazi Dylan Roofers
Spot on. Who doesn't hide their right-wing opinions if shit like this >>507298 is posted?
"Right-wing" opinions will get demonised by the Left regardless, since in their minds the only difference between "crazy redneck neo-nazis" and "normal conservatives" is that said crazy rednecks have the decency to be open about their "virulent hatred of minorities, women, and the queer community"
such is true and a valid argument, but nonetheless I don't want their radicalization and worship of nazi iconography
They make actual threads worshipping people viewed as literal monsters by the media, leading to the same liberal-saturated media to exploit and use these examples to their benefit
We can and we have. My favorite period of Euro history is the Migration period and that's all about proto-krauts, proto-frogs and proto-bongs.
That being the case, viking-hate guy is really annoying.
>I'm currently learning German and dealing with the insane grammar and cultural rules
>I've worked in a Germanic establishment for years now (I'm Austrian)
Austrian, learning German.
>That being the case, viking-hate guy is really annoying.
>muh ancestors shit again
it's just fucking annoying
I'm sick of memes about "muh ancestor pride" or shitposters about "we wuz vikings" shit posting
shitty meme instead of discussing history
why can't we examine viking history (with sources) without emotional bitching
I'd like it if mods tried to keep a certain standards
>he wasn't a god popularly worshipped in any capacity except during wartime.
Also memeing aside, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Naming a place after him isn't the same as considering him a popular god. Odin was a god to be feared, a madman who took young warriors in their prime for his own reasons. Rules venerated him because he was king of the Aesir and his favour was vital in battle, people facing battled revered him for the latter reason as well.
Thor was considerably more popular, being considered a protector of the common man.
He never was, just like Jesus' divinity.
>posting vikiboo fuccboi
piss of kid with your stormfag crap. you'll never be like varg, you'll need to take as much somali dicks as he took, to see odin drinking your cum.
>you'll need to take as much somali dicks as he took, to see odin drinking your cum.
>muh ancestor sucks on me
it was a fag religion to begin with, varg only went with the custom.
I'm not sure what this image is supposed to prove. Hebrew and Elder Futhark evolved from the same source, the Phoenician alphabet, which evolved from Egyptian Hieroglyphics (Technically Hebrew evolved from Aramaic, and Elder Futhark through old Italic runes, but both of those evolved from Phoenician).
Further, common elements have been observed in most religions, I'm not sure what that picture is trying to prove.
Also most people don't give a shit about the racial purity of Asatru; univeralists are a major demographic.
You do realize Odin persisted as a folklore figure for centuries after Christianization, right?
Also I've never read Varg's blog, why would I care what that racist fuckhead thinks? The guy was enough of an idiot to publish a book written entirely in papyrus font.
Yes and a folklore figure is precisely what Odin is; there is nothing Divine about him.
Regardless, to say that he was "only worshiped during wartime" is proof that you have never devoted any serious study to this topic. Since you seem interested, I'll give you a hint: the primary god in a Germanic community varied on location. In some places, Thor was seen as the main deity and in other places it was Odin, even Tyr had communities devoted to him.
Are you the Mexican poster btw?
He's as divine as Christ.
Only worshipped in wartime was an exaggeration, but he wasn't a universally popular or well-liked god, and his primary purpose was that of a war god. Thor was considerably more popular.
And considering your continual shitposting, I doubt you've done any more in depth research than is required to act like a moron.
No, I'm not Mexican.
Only a Hebrew would go to such lengths to mock Christ.
>The Jew is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a scoundrel, parasite, swindler, profiteer, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call him a Jew and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: "I've been found out."
Anonymous imageboard, you idiot. I was telling you to go back to /pol/ because you'll be among like minds. You know nothing of me.
Also why do you take Christ lacking divinity to be mockery? He was still a good man.
I know that you write like a Pharisee and to call Christ anything less than God is a mockery.
Ok then. So the fact I know I'm not Jewish, was not raised Jewish, and know next to nothing about Jewish theology are all less than your own schizophrenia? Seek some mental help, you fucking psycho. I've got better things to do.
/pol/ has now gone full circle and declared the most germanic religion as a jewish creation.
>List claimed that others passed down their teachings in secret, thus resulting in their transmission through later esoteric traditions such as Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism. He also claimed that the Medieval Knights Templar had been keepers of these Armanist secrets, and that they had been persecuted by the Christian establishment as a result of this; he believed that the deity they were accused of worshiping, Baphomet, was actually a sigil of the Maltese Cross representing Armanist teachings. According to List, a number of prominent Renaissance humanists – including Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, Giordano Bruno, Johannes Trithemius, Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, and Johann Reuchlin – were also aware of this ancient Armanist teaching, with List claiming that he was actually the reincarnation of Reuchlin. In addition, List claimed that in the eighth century, Armanists had imparted their secret teachings to the Jewish rabbis of Cologne in the hope of preserving them from Christian persecution; he believed that these teachings became the Kabbalah, which he therefore reasoned was an ancient German and not Jewish innovation, thus legitimising its usage in his own teachings. Rudgley stated that this "tortuous argument" was used to support List's anti-semitic agenda.
Do you even read your own bullshit? Back to /pol/ with you.
Look, you're cherry-picking your sources on this one, which to be Frank, is /pol/'s signature fallacy. I don't give a shit about neo-pagan movements one way or another but this guy isn't connected to Asatru, just some fringe Volkisch movement that ran with a handful of people until the 1970's. I'm pretty sure that Armanism and Asatru aren't that closely related beyond being Germanic restorationist movements.
Additionally, the Futhark is older than this guy. Keep in mind that written language spread from central Asia outward. As such, one cultures written characters are usually just the modified form of another's.
>he's such an edgy faggot even /pol/ won't accept him
