Show me some battles that had hilariously exaggerated army sizes, casualties etc.
The more unbelievable, the better!

Thermopylae is probably the most exaggerated battle in Western history.

Can you give me any examples of truly noble crusader? The paragon of virtue and chivalry?
Not like the ones that killed and looted civilians in Jerusalem and Constantinople. (inb4 it's justified).
Saladin was better than all of them, and he was a muslim.

Think about it
Beautiful women
Lovely homes
Landscapes that make French men weep
Weather that makes tea grow
Style out of this world
Near total military success
Defeated the british empire
France is God's chosen land
No other place can compete when it comes to beauty, comfiness and climate. The Hexagone was designed during the 8th day so God could focus on the most important part of creation. Every hill, every stream, every valley was designed to please the eye and provide Frenchmen with quality crops and wine.
If you don't live in rural France, you've literally been forgotten by God. Que se gloire vienne et que vive la France éternelle, Montjoie Saint Denis

Throughout history there has always been war and bloodshed, I'm starting to believe its part of human nature, we have kindness and compassion too but I want to focus on the ugly side here.
I mean it gets to the point where people will say something like "filthy people that aren't part of my country/religion/whatever you should all die because we are right and every single one of you is an evil retard" and there are people in the opposition that think the exact same thing.
Is it mental illness? Is that why some people are hell bend on a new war, because another full scale world war could well be the end of everything, which is fucking retarded.
Maybe its the selfish gene, some people think my race is best because its mine and every other race means nothing in comparison, idk, thoughts?
>>2977075
Well, it's quite simple really. The way it works is you have a majority population that follows a traditional set of standards (norms) and does so with moderate success for a long period of time. Of course, some groups deviate from this slightly but not enough to really cause any trouble. Then eventually, a rogue group comes along and tries to redefine everything which pisses a lot of people off. These rogue groups are pretty stubborn and war is often times the only way to deal with them. A good example of this in today's world is Muslims.
But isn't it a bit too extreme to come to the conclusion that people dying is the way to solve the problem, why even start wars and bring people who dont want to be involved into it?
Good post btw.

>you should all die because we are right and every single one of you is an evil retard
Top kek. 99% of all conflicts are about resources. It's no mental illness to compete for them, it's in the nature of ALL life, not just humans.
I read all sorts of things and it seems like there is some divide on how powerful the emperor was during 1868-1945. Was the emperor a constitutional monarch during 1868-1945 or only after it? Or actually during and after considering he has a role in both constitutions? How much power was there in his hands? According to the first constitution he had absolute power, but in really it seems like his advisers (ministers) had the actual power. He was mostly a figure head even during 1868-1945 used by the bureaucrats of the time to justify their own power claiming it is coming from the divine emperor. Did I got that pretty much right?
Hirohito did nothing wrong.
bump would be interesting to know as well
All I remember is that Japan was first a Liberal Constitutional Monarchy then when the great depression hit they went full Imperialists. But how much power the Emperor had is disputed, especially since the Allies used the Emperor as a puppet to pacify Japan.
Emperor was a good boi didn't du nuffin.
In my opinion, from experience reading about the Chinese Emperors, is that they only had absolute power if they took part in military affairs, commanding troops and fighting the enemy. If not they were controlled either by the bureaucracy or the military and the Emperor was only a religious symbol in nature. Considering the Japanese Emperors only was a religious figure and had minimal tradition of actually running the country I find it hard to believe that they actually wielded any significant power.
Theoretically he exercised full power, but rarely ever exercised that right beyond appointing PMs in the mess that was interwar Japanese politics
Just talk about philosophy here
Is it worth going for a PhD if I want to write about/do research on Logic and Epistemology?

Or not to be?

Kings are overrated. Seize the power. Seize the princess. Take what is yours by conquest.
Why did it take more than 100 years to write the first Gospels? Were any of the Apostles even alive anymore then?

schismatic niggers just cant stop. could you please switch to REAL christianity called orthodox church and forget about stupid schismatics believes. thanks
Since the 1970s we've been seeing a meteoric rise in insecure low paid / zero hour contract jobs because it increases corporate profits.
So why not take it a step further and just not pay your employees anything? Its worked for a good part of 5000 years of human history before the industrial revolution, hasn't it?
It's inefficient
>>2976638
Its dehumanizing, both for the slaves and for the slave masters.
>>2976647
I mean shit, nigga... do you even know how many people are willing to work for free just to get experience? Companies are building their entire business models to take advantage of this cheap and voluntary indentured servitude. A full time job with pension is a luxury of the past now, exclusive only to boomers who were lucky to have them.
>be Serbian peasant family during ww2

Wew. That's women for you.
The 1999 bombing was somewhat justified, though.
Serbs deserve to get bombed.
>one Serb family was nice to an American once therefore America can never act against Serbia even if they deserve it
kindly fuck off Nikovic.
Which eastern bloc country had the best economy and highest standard of living?
>>2976536
Best economy was Czechoslovakia, just because it was so much wealthier before the war. There was some fact that Czechoslovakia in 1939 was richer than Lithuania in 1991 or something. The rest of the Warsaw Pact can't compete.
Best standard of living is harder to answer. I mean, Yugoslavs generally had better food and more basic freedoms, but access to modern appliances might have been better somewhere like East Germany or Czechoslovakia.
It's called "Second World".
And none of them. The point of communism is to enforce that everyone in the lower classes is equal, pretty much a seemingly nicer way to phrase serfdom, leading to nobody ever doing anything unless they were forced to at gunpoint.
>>2976549
Is it really fair to call Yugoslavia part of the Warsaw Pact, given that they showed about as much disrespect to Moscow as China did?
So based on the past Indo-Pakistani Wars, how likely is a modern war between Pakistan, and India? Lets assume that no other powers can intervene, and that neither country has nukes.
>>2976482
likely...i mean its basically happened twice no?
>>2976482
>No US/PRC
>No Nukes
Tanksrollingacrosstheborder.jpg
Neither country has nukes? India will be able to enter Pakistan but won't be able to conquer it. Pakistan will be fighting a conventional defensive war and at the same time guerilla warfare along the border. Kashmir will be an early engagement ground but will be vastly ignored later in the war (it'll probably be used for brownie points by whatever side is able to fight for attrition) and will be permanently embroiled in guerilla warfare
India's main target will be Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. They'll probably have the easiest time getting to Lahore but will have the most difficult time controlling the entire Punjab province. Pakistan's goals will probably be retain borders. They don't have the long term manpower to do anything except conquer Kashmir
All in all interesting scenario, desu
Seriously, lay on me all the stuff this man did for Brazil, good and bad
