I'm struggling to finish it because english is not my native language, tho it gets more interesting for me because it's presented chronologically and i'm more familiar with the resent past. Any opinions/ thoughts/ recomendations?
Uniting Russia and Germany is the key to world stability. As long as the two nations exist as separate entities, there will always be risk of another war. They must be united under one flag. Either Germany must absorb Russia, or Russia must absorb Germany. Given that the former has already been attempted twice in the past, we can say with a high degree of confidence that it is unlikely to ever occur. Therefore, all hope of world peace rests on Russia annexing Germany into the motherland.

Best chance for peace would be to disband Poland and give Russia control of the Carpathian-Baltics line, the chokepoint where the Great European Plain is at its narrowest.
This would make Russia more defensible and ease paranoia on both sides. Control of this chokepoint has been the major Russian foreign policy aim since the 19th century.

Disbanding Poland doesn't solve German irrelevancy problem.

mostly drugs and ego towards the end. The beginning is a totally different story.
Does anyone have a copypasta of when the one anon wrote an incredibly touching short story or greentext about him being a lonely artist in Vienna? Or was it an excerpt from some book?
Normally I hate WWII threads just cause they are here more than the fucking history channel in mid 2000's, but this may be salvageable

hitler might not have started as "hitler", but hitler was always autistic
Why did the Italian and German soldiers hate each other so much during WW2?
If Stalin doesn't kill him in 1937 does he make a difference? Also Did the Nazis get him killed in the first place?
Can someone translate the symbol here?

Would the Reformation have survived after Luther's death if it weren't for Calvin and Calvinism/Reformed Christianity?

A rant I found on some abandoned BBS on the Tor network. Probably some edgy kid. Valid or eh?
Deceased people's brains display ~7 minutes of activity after the person dies. Many say it is the brain replaying memories from their life before they finally die. What if we're living in those replays? We have died a long time ago, now we're just a memory inside our own brains, being replayed to our original mind. Is that why years seem to go by faster and faster as we grow older? If you die young, there is still 7 minutes of memories to replay because the time you spent on Earth seems longer to you. If this is true, what iteration of memories are we part of? When we die in the replay, does it start all over for the 'you' in the replay? Who is to say we aren't living the same life over and over again?
Neurons die after about 45 seconds without oxygen.

I'm pretty sure death is defined as ceasation of brain activity
this is more of a /sci/ question though

How? Watch the free newsreel.
I read that Japanese officers abused their soldiers so much it basically gave them PTSD even before they went to any battle. One of the reasons they were such savages towards civilians and PoWs was because of the trauma caused by their superiors.
By abuse i mean daily beatings for no apparent reason, complete verbal degradation, shit like that. They were treated worse than cattle.
Goodreads thread, post away
Did shit from the Scientific Revolution in Europe get discovered independently elsewhere? Shit like what Newton(laws of motion, how gravity works, orbits), Copernicus(heliocentrism), Galileo(Jupiter's moons, free fall), etc did. I have heard that heliocentrism might have actually been discovered in the Islamic world before Copernicus and I was wondering if places like China or India had discovered Galileo and Newton's works independently. As well as other places.

Imperial China believed in a flat earth so that rules out Galileo and Copernicus. Newtons laws were also absent. On the whole the Chinese didn't really bother an awful lot with science.
