Do you think that Genghis Khan is one of the most misunderstood leaders in history? I say this because it's a common idea that he was a blood thirsty war monger when things like that were very common in those days

1. HOW DOES THE WIDESPREADNESS, AND THE PREVALENCE, OF BRUTALITY IN HIS TIME MAKE HIM ANY LESS OF A "BLOODTHIRSTY WARMONGER", ACCORDING TO YOU?

2. BRUTALITY IS JUST AS WIDESPREAD AND PREVALENT NOW AS IT WAS IN HIS TIME, BUT NOW THE CAPABILITY FOR DESTRUCTION, AND DISHONESTY REGARDING BRUTALITY, ARE INFINITELY GREATER.
>>
so what if it was common? In india public defecation is common

Definitely. I've read up on how he manages his troops and armies, and they're quite advanced. Genghis Khan was quite liberal/modernist/universal in how he treated religion. He had respect for great men of wisdom from all religions he encountered. He had qualms about certain religions imposing certain restrictions on diet and such (muslim). He would quite regularly invite many religious scholars from all types(taoist, confusionist, buddhist, christian, islam, shamans, etc) and have them debate (this tradition continued on to his legacy (atleast for the non-muslims)).

His conscription rule prohibited the religious people of all kinds on religious/sacred grounds.

The blood thirsty wars are basically due to mongols introducing the eastern warfare to the west and the foreigness of mongols creating a stacking effect.

The word "anarchism" usually brings to mind left wing ideologies. And yet, in the modern world, wanting to break away from states seems to be a right wing phenomenon. How did this happen, and at what point? Modern left wing ideology seems to praise global organizations such as the EU, whereas right wingers seem to want to break away from major state governments to establish their own societies

Form strategic point of view such loss of life could easily have been acceptable where as the loss of only Japanese industrial base(and the major one since they held nearly 60% of japanese war production) that was outside of reach for US strategic bombings. Mainland had in practical terms had already run out of steel&iron in the early 45.

Well initially the main aim of Imperial Germany was to prevent further mobilization of the European powers and as such prevent escalation.
Despite how he is portrayed in revisionist entente history, Wilhelm II did everything he could to prevent the war and of all of the leaders involved in the first weltkrieg, was the one who worked the hardest in regards to ending the conflict and preventing further loss of life.

As the war dragged on.
Imperial Germany became determined to prevent Europe from ever again being shaken and bled by Anglo-Frog aggression.
As such the war aims of Imperial Germany involved a large amount of land annexations and dependency creations in the east (most importantly, the breadbasket of Ukraine) in-order to make Mitteleuropa impervious to any sort of shortages resulting from an anglo blockade.

In the west, there were several goals.
The first was to prevent the French from having a defensible border with the Kaiserreich (to discourage further frog war-mongering).
Secondly, Imperial Germany hoped to fix some accidents of history by uniting various west-German peoples into the holy Kaiserreich.
Finally in a further attempt to discourage the frogs from doing what they do best (war-mongering), Imperial Germany intended to annex the resource rich french territory that bordered Elsaß-Lothringen.

It is harder to ascertain what Imperial Germany plans were in regards to colonies.
However striping the French of its Afrikan colonies and the anglos of Malta seems like the most likely scenario.

1. Cripple Russia. With Russia's rapid industrialization following the Russo-Japanese War, the German High Command felt that a confrontation with Russia needed to happen as soon as possible to solidify german Hegemony over Eastern Europe

2. Cripple France
Russia was the threat down the line. France was Germany's current and historical continental rival. To ensure continental dominance, it had to be reduced to an economically dependent and militarily defensive rumpstate.

3. Deny English access to continental Channel Ports
Once the former two goals were achieved, British influence had to be curtailed. Historically, England had been the most detrimental force opposing any rising continental power, given their foreign policy centered on not letting a european country get too strong. To this end, Belgium and the Netherlands had to at the very least be brought under German influence, if not outright annexed.

4. Muh Mittleafrika, muh Weltzmarine
I can't say how much of this was Willy's goal versus the people actually calling the shots, but there were plans for a german controlled southern Africa. Of course it was an impossible pipedream without the subjegation of rival European powers.

If killing one person who wouldn't be dead otherwise (at that moment) is justifiable to save five lives, then killing 1 million people to save 5 million is justifiable.

One single person can provide enough organs to save up to 8 lives.

Therefore, it's justifiable to kill people to harvest their organs, if you don't do it, you're equally murdering by omission.

It is objectively hypocritical to deny it.

How did the Dutch manage to defeat, or at least resist, the Spanish? Spain had, without a doubt, the best army in Europe at the time, yet they failed to stop the revolt. It's a bit weird to see this war lasted 80 years, but after that France invaded very easily the Netherlands.

Because they beat the Spanish the way that the Americans beat the British and the Vietnamese beat the Americans and lots of little powers at the end of large Empires have done throughout history. They were simply an enormous amount of trouble to take down, far more so than could be gained by subduing them.

I can't even think of land battles where the Dutch beat the Spanish off the top of my head, although I'm sure there are some. Mostly they buttonholed up in their cities, flooded the countryside, raided with their ships, and counted on the costs of the war driving things for the Hapsburgs, who after had a great deal of trouble projecting force into the Netherlands without prohibitive expense.

There was a stalemate, Spain won at land and the dutch (that btw were supported by other countries) on the sea but that ended when Spain decided to help Austria during the 30 years war, there were revolts in Catalonia and Portugal too, and the spanish armies were bussy fighting the french and protestants over all Europe. So basically the war exhaustion killed them.
>>
>>3056912

What kind of question is this?
France was at war with Spain too. And France back then had more than twice the population of Spain.
Also, around 1640 Spain had a civil war against Portugal which regained its independence, and Catalonia.

Spain was often at war with France, the Netherlands, the UK, Germans protestant states and Turks, simulatenously.

Basically, without Richelieu (a Catholic priest who allied who believed in realpolitik and allied France with protestants and muslims) there would be no protestants in continental europe (outside the British Islands and Scandinavia)

These were Soros backed protesters that wanted to bring stability and civilization and replace it with western decadence. We should have adopted the same measures in the Cold War especially during the Vietnam War. I can't believe that these Soros backed protesters spat on our veterans and our troops when they returned home because the defeatist attitude of the American public.

So why are people so upset that protesters got crushed? They were rioting and attacking police and soldiers. If history tells us anything, every time there is an alleged "popular protest" against a government, its Soros backed.

Maimonides-Rambam.jpg

Here is what Maimonides, a famous medieval Rabbi, says about the Messiah and Jesus in Hilchot Melachim uMilchamot - Chapter 11 paragraph 4; what are your thoughts?

>"If a king will arise from the House of David who diligently contemplates the Torah and observes its mitzvot as prescribed by the Written Law and the Oral Law as David, his ancestor, will compel all of Israel to walk in (the way of the Torah) and rectify the breaches in its observance, and fight the wars of God, we may, with assurance, consider him Mashiach.

>"If he succeeds in the above, builds the Temple in its place, and gathers the dispersed of Israel, he is definitely the Mashiach.

>"He will then improve the entire world, motivating all the nations to serve God together, as Tzephaniah 3:9 states: 'I will transform the peoples to a purer language that they all will call upon the name of God and serve Him with one purpose.'

>"If he did not succeed to this degree or was killed, he surely is not the redeemer promised by the Torah. Rather, he should be considered as all the other proper and complete kings of the Davidic dynasty who died. God caused him to arise only to test the many, as Daniel 11:35 states: 'And some of the wise men will stumble, to try them, to refine, and to clarify until the appointed time, because the set time is in the future.'

>"Jesus of Nazareth who aspired to be the Mashiach and was executed by the court was also alluded to in Daniel's prophecies, as ibid. 11:14 states: 'The vulgar among your people shall exalt themselves in an attempt to fulfill the vision, but they shall stumble.' (cont.)

>>3056640

>"Can there be a greater stumbling block than Christianity? All the prophets spoke of Mashiach as the redeemer of Israel and their savior who would gather their dispersed and strengthen their observance of the mitzvot. In contrast, Christianity caused the Jews to be slain by the sword, their remnants to be scattered and humbled, the Torah to be altered, and the majority of the world to err and serve a god other than the Lord.

>"Nevertheless, the intent of the Creator of the world is not within the power of man to comprehend, for His ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts, our thoughts. Ultimately, all the deeds of Jesus of Nazareth and that Ishmaelite who arose after him will only serve to prepare the way for Mashiach's coming and the improvement of the entire world, motivating the nations to serve God together as Tzephaniah 3:9 states: 'I will transform the peoples to a purer language that they all will call upon the name of God and serve Him with one purpose.'

>"How will this come about? The entire world has already become filled with the mention of Mashiach, Torah, and mitzvot. These matters have been spread to the furthermost islands to many stubborn-hearted nations. They discuss these matters and the mitzvot of the Torah, saying: 'These mitzvot were true, but were already negated in the present age and are not applicable for all time.'

>"Others say: 'Implied in the mitzvot are hidden concepts that can not be understood simply. The Mashiach has already come and revealed those hidden truths.'

>'When the true Messianic king will arise and prove successful, his position becoming exalted and uplifted, they will all return and realize that their ancestors endowed them with a false heritage and their prophets and ancestors caused them to err."
>>

Not OP, but Moreh Nevuchim is quite good. However, he's writing it as a "basic guide", but not to a lay person, he's really aiming at a rabbinical student. If you're not fairly conversant with Jewish theology, a lot of it will lead you in the dark as he just skips over all the basics.
