What was pic related thinking?
Francisco Franco (centre) and Serrano Súñer (left) meeting with Mussolini (right) in Bordighera, Italy in 1941. At Bordighera, Franco and Mussolini discussed the creation of a Latin Bloc.
Is the guy in the left French or Italian?
I suppose the latin block means France/Spain/Italy/Portugal and Romania

>Serrano Súñer
He's Spanish you intellectual equivalent of a walnut.

To be fair I also thought he was French
Do you think we will face a day where the dead are resurrected due to mankind's rampant sins?

>Zechariah 14:12
>"And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth."
>Revelation 20:13,14
>“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
>Isaiah 26: 19-20
>"Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
>Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast."
>Matthew 27:52-54
>“And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

No because zombies are undead whereas Jesus is alive.
Photography. Supposedly St. Albert the Great was already experimenting with silver nitrate in the 13th century, so it really surprises me that nobody found a way to get a decent image by the end of the Renaissance. Part of me wants to believe that some wealthy collector has unpublished experimental photos taken before the 19th century.
Bicycles. Pic related is was a recreation of a sketch fraudulently attributed to a Da Vinci student. Nevertheless, it certainly would have been well within the reach of preindustrial technology to build something like this.
Microscope. Just how difficult is lens grinding supposed to be, at least to an adequate magnification to see cells? We know the Babylonians were avid astronomers and developed a primitive telescope lens, so it's truly remarkable that they or the Egyptians didn't take the technology further.
>>3348146
Getting a microscope or telescope lens is extremely difficult. you can get an increasing magnification through the lens, but it has to be just perfect in order to actually be able to see anything, and that's where I think it was beyond them. They had the technology to make them, just not the technology to make ones good enough to actually use.
>>3348208
I guess that makes sense. This lens from Nimrud is of clearly dubious value. Some argue it's not even a lens, but a decorative inset in a wooden box which rotted away.
a pre-industrial revolution bicycle would have been shit, and they weren't invented for a reason
>no rubber for the tires so they have to be made out of wood
>the chain and gears would be very difficult to produce and maintain without mass produced identical parts
>turning is next to impossible
its odd to think the bicycle was invented so late, until you think about what its actually made from
He was a great leader for Uganda!
Is a gradual transition from Colonialism to Independence the only way to go? Do you think it could have prevented Africa from being filled with callous and inept kleptocracies?
By chance, does anyone here know experimentally verified methods for moving the ancient huge monoliths lithe the unfinished egyptian monolith (1,200 tons of mass)?
I was among people mocking the "ancient aliens" theory and pointed that I honestly can't believe how they did those things.
Even their "regular" massive "columns" I find impressive
>>3347888
I don't think it was ever definitively proven how the Ancient Egyptians did it, but when the Romans moved a couple of the obelisks away from Egypt to what's now Italy, they did it by the following.
>Tie a bunch of ropes to the obelisk
>Have a huge number of people yank it down on top of some rollers.
>Drag it to the Nile
>Have a boat waiting.
>Fill boat with sand so it sinks
>Is now lower than the obelisk, so it can be dragged onto the boat.
>Obelisk is now in sunken boat.
>Send in lots of guys to haul all of the fucking sand back out.
>Boat slowly rises.
>Sail on your way to Rome.
>Same roller trick to move it where you want it.
>Tip it up.
Bear in mind though, these were smaller ones, "only" 2-500 tons. But I imagine you could do something similar with just more muscle power for a larger one.

There was a Serb who beheaded a Samurai in Japan.

There was a Zeppelin that flew over Africa to resupply Lettow-Vorbeck. An isolated tribe caught sight of it and started worshipping it as a sign from god. 20 years later, a German passed through and found that they still were making drawings of the Zeppelin after all that time. They had never seen a Zeppelin before, nor did they even know it was possible for men to fly. They considered it to be some kind of spiritual visitor. 20 years later, they still believed that it would return one day, and they anxiously awaited the return of the god.

>Hey, mister? What was the Holocaust like in the early days? Is true it was just deportations at first? What were those like? How did people allow that at the time? And how did it transition to gradual killings?

"Holocaust? I think Harry Potter would be a more suitable fiction for kids your age."
>>3347533
>>Hey, mister? What was the Holocaust like in the early days? Is true it was just deportations at first? What were those like?
It wasn't *just* deportations, there were also confiscations of property, restrictions of business and education, travel, and the like. But yes, intentional mass murder didn't start right away.
>How did people allow that at the time?
A combination of ignorance as to the precise details (Yeah, bad things are happening to minorities, but you wouldn't often see a Jewish guy being dragged away to a concentration camp right in front of you), hysteria from a very well oiled propaganda machine, and a sense that Hitler was going to recapture Germany's lost destiny, and if a few people had to be stepped on, well, that was regrettable, but it's worth the price of admission.
>And how did it transition to gradual killings?
Once open war broke out, things became more radicalized. After you had millions of people dying, especially in the ideologically charged war in the east which had other mass murders not always directly talliedi n the Holocaust, it becomes easier to rationalize eliminating minorities in your own turf. Now add in the fact that Hitler often gave very vague directives and encouraged autonomy in groups like the SS, and was very public about not liking Jews, and it's really only a matter of time before someone comes up with the idea that making their sector "judenfrei" would curry Der Fuhrer's favor.
>>Also, can you explain why asking random strangers history questions in public is a bad idea?
Random strangers probably won't know the answer to the question you're asking. And even if they do, they might not want to talk to you right at that moment. They have lives too.

Is it fair to say that Zionist militias were a response to years of massacres?
>>3347483
Yes.
>>3347483
Both had sever casualties involving civilians but the Isreali official military has done a fair job perserving peace in the more recent years.
/leftpol Will tell you otherwise claiming that Israel is expansion hungry Nd /pol/ will just say the normal Polshit about Zionist controlled society.
The facts are present that the establishment of a duel state dividing Jews and Arab Palestinians was a big mistake. Unrest will always be present in this area as it has been for the past 1300 years.
Sure the most recent causes for the unrest can be Interpreted as Isreals fault but the Hussad regime lost their favor when they decided to use civilians as meat sheilds.
