The real crime here is the art style and animation.
>Few days of cramped trains thru Europe, very painful death
VS
>Many days in a freer, colder train, excrutiatingly hard labour kept on the brink of starvation while working years, BUT you keep being alive
You do know forced labor and starvation took place in nazi concentration camps, right?
>>3119030
Yeah, I'm not denying that, but for tops 5 years vs people who spent lifetimes in gulag
>>3118907
I'm just excited for the KIDF to show up and claim the concentration camps were fake
Why didn't the muslims conquer the whole of Europe?
Did they fear the white warrior?
>>3118820
they lost to the franks at tours and to the Byzantines in 2 separate sieges of Constantinople.after that they mainly resorted to launching raids in central anatolia and depopulating the region but never really fully conquering it.

Was the normandy the best place for an invasion?
>>3118750
No. For some reason they didnt just start the invasion in Berlin and just end the war in like 10 minutes haha lmao
>>3118753
Jokes aside, can an anon explain why they didn't invade the German coast?
>>3118788
They feared the german warrior

Western philosophy is about getting people to not hate you, eastern philosophy is about getting your dead relatives to not hate you
It goes like this.

Japan and philosophy, is it possible?
What the fuck happened.
It collapsed
>>3118669
There are a lot of theories, from climate issues to earthquakes to the invasion of the sea peoples. I'm rather fond of the idea of a systems collapse, which is explained quite well (along with general bronze age collapse & background) in this video / book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyry8mgXiTk

I know that history is filled with brutality but is there anything more pointlessly brutal than the treatment of peasants in the French dutchys in the 12-13 centuries. They brutally hard lives working under an asshole richer and more powerful than they could ever imagine. Then that asshole gets in a pissing match with the slightly more rich king of France which results in a "war". This really turns out to be one of the assholes chasing the other into a castle, all while the asshole sworn to defend your lands burns your farm to slow down the opposing asshole. In the end the besieged asshole surrenders, gives his daughter in marriage as a slap on the wrist and goes back to his caste while you starve to death.

>William the Bastard had a difficult time securing Normandy after the untimely death of his father, Duke Robert, on pilgrimage in 1035. Indeed, Duke William's minority was one of the most difficult times of his entire career. He had to fight off rebellious family members who used his bastardy as justification for revolt. For example, in one incident, a town Duke William was besieging taunted him by hanging animal hides on the walls (in reference to his maternal grandfather, who was a tanner). In response, Duke William rounded up a number of captives from the town and brutally chopped off their feet and hands. He was certainly sensitive to this sort of mocking.

Call me an edgelord but I've always found some of the extreme violence of history hilarious in a detached way. I think to me it's comical how absolutely barbaric people can be. This viewpoint fades the closer in you zoom, My Lai is absolutely harrowing but hearing about Romans butchering jews during passover because a legionary mooned some kike always gets a chuckle out of me

I was really surprised by how often Normans used mutilation as a punishment. It seems like anyone that really pissed off the Duke of Normandy got his eyes poked out and castrated
>Some Medieval Studies professors are worried that the “alt-right” is co-opting the discipline to promote a “fantasy” of the Middle Ages with undertones of “white supremacy.”
>Following the 2017 "International Medieval Conference," several attendees complained that white, male professors--rather than people of color--delivered lectures about "otherness" in the Middle Ages.
Is /his/ part of the alt right conspiracy to erase PoC from medieval history?

you are part neanderthal OP
If youre asian, youre more erectus than neanderthal but you probably also have neanderthal in you.
They were either killed directly, assimilated into the sapien genes, or died out from lack of resources due to competition. Neanderthals and erectus couldnt throw shit, didnt have the same endurance, werent as smart, didnt cooperate as effectively, didnt communicate through language as complex as ours, couldnt run into an entirely different group of their same species, recognize them as the same species, and work together. If two neanderthal groups met theyd probably fight or flee from each other, whereas sapiens were more likely to make friends with strangers, and they used art and necklaces to show other humans that they were also human. What this means is that humans can spread out all over the world and meet with other humans when they get there and cooperate with them, whereas lesser hominids were not as social and would not risk association with other tribes, even fron their own species, so theyre far less able to migrate and survive. For example, a sapien tribe might leave africa and by the time it reaches europe, half of them are dead. If we were talking, neanderthals, that would be the end of them then and there. However, if we're talking sapiens, then theyll find more humans and team up with them and likely learn from them and survive.

There is no room for existential issues when you don't have enough food.
Lower IQ due to having none of that nutritious food makes it hard to think about life which eventually leads to depression.
