Are colors quantifiable?

yeah, isn't that what value is?

Some believe it will be possible to describe a colour perfectly but not give the experience of seeing the color. The same with taste sight and sound, using any language including mathematics.

What factors made Southern Italy hotbed of organized crime?

Why not Portugal or Greece or the Balkans?

I have NO idea if this is actually true or not, as I've done no real research whatsoever, just traveled a bit and using my anecdotal experiences. With that caveat, I think it's the tightly bound family system. Southern Italy still has a lot of the cultural values of that old Roman Patron/Client familia structure, where you have one central patriarchal figure who trades out influence for support. It means that you can have organized groups that are less likely to sell each other out when the heat is on from the police, as well as an instant organizational structure that can serve the crime family in good stead.

Sicily was still fairly feudal and underdeveloped when Italy annexed it in the 1860's. The result was a transition of power from the wealthy landowners to the govt and private citizens, but at the same time the govt wasn't yet established enough to enforce the laws and transitions, so private groups established themselves to do it instead.

Would Thomas Jefferson approve of the assassination of Lincoln?

Lincoln did objectively violate the Constitution, but would that have been enough for Jefferson to see assassination as justifiable? He seemed pretty radical and borderline Anarchist with quotes such as, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants", so I'm curious.

When it came to slavery, Jefferson tended to be hypocritical to the extreme. I genuinely don't know what side he would take.
>>
>>3146772
Jefferson pretty much believed that the country outright would not survive if slavery was not ended, but he did not know how to end it without a war that would destroy the country. I think he would probably have opposed secession and sided with Lincoln after Fort Sumter.

You do know that the constitution allows for the suspension of Habeus Corpus in the event of insurrection, right?

>how do you know that HUH?

Lets look at this at face value.

Oswald was some creepy loser with mental problems that blamed everyone else. He was a robot.

John F. Kennedy was extremely important, intelligent, clever in conversation, handsome, tall, wealthy, and fucked beautiful women constantly. He was Chad.

Lets look at the facts about Oswald.

1. He had no father.
>Robert Oswald died of a heart attack two months before Lee was born
2. He was a weak manlet
>Oswald's enlistment papers record his vital statistics as 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 meters) in height, 135 pounds
3. He had a low IQ
>Lee's record at Ridglea is not remarkable in any respect.
>In the fourth grade his IQ was recorded at 103; on achievement tests in each of the 3 years, he twice did best in reading and twice did worst in spelling.
>Lee is generally characterized as an unexceptional but rather solitary boy during these years.

4. He was anti-social at school
>A fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Clyde I. Livingston, described him as a lonely boy, quiet and shy, who did not easily form friendships with other students

5. He had mental problems, nobody liked him, and he attacked his own mother and wife
>As a child, Oswald was described as withdrawn and temperamental by several people who knew him.[9] When Oswald was 12 in August 1952, his mother took him to New York City where they lived for a short time with Oswald's half-brother, John. Oswald and his mother were later asked to leave after an argument in which Oswald allegedly struck his mother and threatened John's wife with a pocket knife.
>Oswald became increasingly unpopular with his Russian-speaking acquaintances, partly because of his resentment of their assistance.905 Alexander Kleinlerer stated that none of them cared for Oswald "because of his political philosophy, his criticism of the United States, his apparent lack of interest in anyone but himself and because of his treatment of Marina."906 Some of them believed that Oswald was mentally disturbed

Does this sound like a certain group we know?

How skilled were Spartan warriors really? Could they have fucked up medieval knights from like 1700 years later?

Of course, the fact that the greeks were able to discover gunpowder so early in history made the spartans able to create the very first version of the M4, the M4 fallós.
What I would do to be born just in time to mow down persians with my spartan bros.

Nero's villainy tends to be overstated, but his incompetence is not -- he did not have a clue how to be Emperor, and if you are gong to accept the job, that might count as something you're doing wrong.

>Emeagwali received the 1989 Gordon Bell Prize for an application of the CM-2 massively-parallel computer. The application used computational fluid dynamics for oil-reservoir modeling. He won in the "price/performance" category, with a performance figure of about 400 Mflops/$1M. The winner in the "performance" category, Mobil Research and Thinking Machines, used the CM-2 for seismic data processing and achieved the higher ratio of 500 Mflops/$1M. The judges decided on one award per entry.[3][2] His method involved each microprocessor communicating with six neighbours.[7]

>Emeagwali's simulation was the first program to apply a pseudo-time approach to reservoir modeling.[1]

How the hell did Saint Paul write a letter to the Phillipians if the Philippines hadn't even been discovered by Spain yet? Did God give him divine powers?

That's exactly what I'm saying. If the Philippians are in some nowhere in greece like >>3146250 says, how come the Phillipines are Catholic? The only thing I don't understand is how did Paul know the Philippines existed and how did he know where to send his letter.

Why didn't Japan attack American oil fields at Pearl Harbor?
Did they fear the Oilic warrior?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
same reason America didn't attack oil fields in the Iraq war
>>
>>3145982
Several reasons.

Firstly, Japan was banking on a short war, in which the destruction of the capital ships would provide a necessary short term favorable balance of force. Secondly, the amount of oil in those tanks represented about 1.3 days worth of American production, and even if you do eliminate it, it would hardly cripple the American efforts. Thirdly, the planes that they had weren't those lumbering strategic bombers, Even if they manage to hit the targets on land, 100 and 250 pound bombs are not likely to completely wreck a facility like that. Damage it, sure. Burn a lot of fuel, sure. But they almost certainly won't wipe it out, they'd need far more bomb capacity than they were capable of delivering to do that.

So they went after the battleships instead.
