I just saw Dunkirk and it made me realise I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to history and want to learn about both of the world wars, what's the best way to do this?
A youtube series would be ideal for me but I'm fine reading as well, does anyone have some suggestions?

>youtube series
The best one I know if is for World War I, and that's the Great War; it's an ongoing series that covers the First World War week by week, and goes into a fair amount of detail:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB2vhKMBjSxMK8YelHj6VS6w3KxuKsMvT
^playlist of all their videos in chronological order.
As for books, I come up a bit short, but I'm sure the other anons will have good suggestions.
world war 2 in colour is quite a good series
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQux0OTe9sQ&list=PLZxIFAN12m6wmm5K8fPkApSB1F90885hS
14 diaries of the great war is a pretty good ww1 documentary because it covers the war from so many different angles, its on netflix but you could probably find it elsewhere too if you don't have that
since society is a socially agreed upon phenomenon, whats the keystone of social influence beyond hierarchy?

You can't make this shit up.

>Northern Africa through the Middle East and Central Europe and based out of the Italian peninsula
you're describing regions inhabited almost exclusively by Caucasoids even today.

why am i not surprised?
Is this guy just full of shit? I saw his entire interview, and it really seems like he wasn't half the source people claim he is.
>Your country is demoralized (said in the 1980's, when the vast majority of Americans were still willing to fight the Soviets)
>I know all this; I saw it happening (apparently by working in an embassy in India)
>Goes on to basically say that "muh' evil welfare state" is trying to take away your freedoms and make everything 1984
Like really, how am I supposed to take anything he says seriously?
>>3160418
didn't he said that communist agents had infiltrated american universities and would make all the students degenerates libshits?
Isn't that what happened today?
>>3160418
I've seen no one proof that this isn't some kind of double blind designed to stew discord in the American enemy
>>3160442
>didn't he said that communist agents had infiltrated american universities and would make all the students degenerates libshits?
this
Will make everyone a degenerate in 20 years.

tl;dr: american who considered USA the true evil and that the fascists of the world should ally with USSR against USA.
He also praised Nasser's arabism and even wrote some propaganda for them.
Made a lot of international connections for the plan, caught by FBI/CIA, suicide in jail to protect his plans.
>>3160403
Considering the USA didn't arrest or execute the japanese scientists from the Unit 731 if they told them what were their results on the experiments, hiding all this from the public, I can assume that the US was being a little bit evil
How German is the British royal family?
>>3160250
It's a branch of House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha so technically a German aristocratic house, but there has been years of marriages with the British nobility so no, not very German.
It will be a Jewish dynasty in a few years thanks to Kate Goldsmith.
>>3160289
The British don't have a royal family, they have a parliament.
How did Prof JP become so popular?
What was the thing that put him in the spotlight because I never knew about this guy 3 years ago and now he's all over the place.
I enjoy his work, I'm just wondering what made him popular

he refused to comply with absurd leftist laws in canada which was caught on youtube and the video went viral. Then people started looking into him and his older videos and his philosophy discussions rang true with the current culture war we are experiencing in the west.
So what prevented Spain from taking the final step to joining the axis power during WW2? Would the Axis power win if Spain joined in on the action
Common sense.
No.
>>3160168
>Franco´s demands of food, training and equipment for his troops plus a share of the French Colonial Empire
>British bribery of key figures around Franco to stay out of the war
>Finally the incomming collapse of the Axis
>>3160168
Spain was poor as fuck and destroyed after the civil war. Also, Franco was the type of guy who prefered to sit and watch until someone was going to win before making a decision.
Was Cú Chulainn the Irish equivalent of Karna from Hindu mythology?
>>3160107
No.
>>3160107
According to Dumèzil, and IIRC...
Indra = Tulius = Starkadr = Heracles = (iranian I don't remember the name) = Cú chullain
At least on the narrative of the warrior cycle.
The book is "the Destiny of the warrior" (read it in spanish, El destino del guerrero, no idea if there is an english translation of the book)
What's the story behind "shaved sides and back" haircut?
Where did it come from? Did the ancients shave their hair like that? How did they to do that?
>>3160050
>dat accumulated fat at the back of his head
Lol fatass
Not quite ancient, but a similar haircut was popular in medieval and early modern Ireland
I think its from Rome. A regular cut (Short on back and sides long on the top) is apparently the hair that roman soldiers had to stop the enemies grabbing their hair and the spread of lice according to the wiki on it (but there are no sources referenced in the wiki so it could be all shit)

Did Marx get anything right?
He was a shitposting NEET loser. The only thing he was good at was sucking cock. Thats the only reason he didnt die a homeless vagrant
He and Engels were right that industrialization had some lousy consequences for the poor and the environment. That's about it. The class struggle lens of history, the labor theory of value, the notion of proletariat overthrowing the established order, his fuzzy math, and pretty much everything else is all a joke.

The reason why Britain didn’t declare war on the Soviet Union is an intriguing one. Unknown to the general public there was a ‘secret protocol’ to the 1939 Anglo-Polish treaty that specifically limited the British obligation to protect Poland to ‘aggression’ from Germany.
When people questioned why Britain did nothing when the Red Army moved on Poland, the British government considered revealing the existence of the secret part of the agreement. However, they decided not to, Sir Alexander Cadogan of the Foreign Office explaining privately that to do so “would only provoke curiosity about the existence of similar secret protocols attached to other treaties…” An answer given in the House of Commons in October 1939 revealed only that the Poles had “understood” that “the agreement should only cover the case of aggression by Germany.”
From the outset, Soviet aggression was treated differently to German aggression. On a practical level this was because the British had already shown that they could not defend Poland against one aggressor, let alone two. But it was also because the mandarins in the Foreign Office considered the eastern borders of Poland somewhat ‘fluid’ – after all, they had only been fixed the treaty that ended the Polish-Soviet War less than 20 years earlier. Sir William Seeds, British ambassador to Moscow, wrote in a secret telegram on 18 September 1939: “I do not myself see what advantage war with the Soviet Union would be to us…” and that “our war aims are not incompatible with reasonable settlement [in Poland] on ethnographic and cultural lines.”
Behind the scenes, the British felt there was a clear balance to be struck between ‘morality’ and traditional, old-fashioned, national self interest. Yet, in the popular consciousness, this war is still considered almost a crusade against all evil.

Poles should've simply bent over to Nazi Germany and invade Red filth with them in 1942.
>>3159697
Why would they risk going in unprepared to save some artificial country?
What if the Soviets invaded first?
