Is it possible to have a thread on Africa without having it devolve into a /pol/ tier shitfest? I hope so, because I have a question about pic related. It seems that the parts of Africa with the best land quality are somehow the poorest. Is this attributable at all to the ethnic groups that populate those particular areas? For example, the northern, eastern, and very most southern parts of Africa are not considered the same sub-Saharan Bantus that populate the good parts of Africa (like the Congo). What kind of differences between these ethnic groups could account for not only the Bantu's lack of success but their lack of success in otherwise favorable conditions when everyone else had access to far less resources.

>Is it possible to have a thread on Africa without having it devolve into a /pol/ tier shitfest?
No.
>>3167656
Political corruption and civil wars has prevented countries like the Congo, CAR, Chad, etc. from becoming successful, but once they get that under control they could become very powerful
>>3167656
If you don't want Africa thread to attract /pol/, do the following:
1. Stop claiming non-black people and civilizations as black
2. Stop claiming Africa had "advanced civilizations" and that something like Great Zimbabwe was a pinnacle of high culture and comparable to Europe and the Middle East
That should do it. Notice that /pol/ isn't attacking Cambodia, probably because we don't have a bunch of retarded Cambodians on /his/ screaming WHITEY BTFO and claiming Angkor Wat was the greatest marvel in the history of mankind.
How much freedom of movement was there from one to the other in former countries/federal districts east of russia during the soviet union?
>>3167623
It very much depended on your class. If you were a member of the Gommunist Party then you could apply for a visa to visit other parts of the USSR, if you were a member of the inner circle then you could even visit other countries, but for the average Joe Schmoe it was essentially impossible to leave your home prefecture.
>>3167648
Were areas like chelyabinsk goven the same political weight and jurisdiction as the czech republic or romania?
>>3167710
Each Republic managed it's own travel permits, Czechia in particular was very "liberal" and had much lighter restrictions than Russia itself.
>"Hey anon I'm going on a mission trip!"
>"Cool, what're you doing there!"
>"We get to ride on a jungle boat tour and pet some trained elephants!"
>"That's cool, but I meant what mission work are you doing?"
>"Oh, we're gonna see which village needs the most aid and send them money."
>"So... you're going on a vacation and then sending them church funds afterwards?"
>"Well, we're also there to spread the word..."
Why are Christians in the US so radically materialist and why do they think this bullshit qualifies as "mission work"?
>>3167583
Sounds like you're just mad you don't get to pet some trained elephants

apparently your greatest allies care :)
So why didn't Homer show his heroes feasting on fish? The issue seems to have been so controversial that Plato felt compelled to speculate (his theory was that fish was considered too luxurious and aristocratic, for those curious)
Could just be a coincidence. How many feasts did he depict in his work? How often is fish served?
Plato had autism.

Ioannes Komnenos' coup is A1 JUST material.
>Ioannes "The Fat" decides he's gonna be Autokrator
>Breaks into the Hagia Sophia to coronate himself
>Rando monk has to do it because the Patriarch is hiding in a cupboard
>March to the Imperial Palace and break in
>Ioannes sits on the Imperial Throne which breaks under his weight
>Constantinople is in a state of riot, foreign mercs and pissed off people are burning down everything
>Legitimate Emperor Alexios is in a palace in the different part of the city
>"Sir, the fat man is couping you and the people are chimping"
>"WAT?"
>Alexios sends his stepson with some loyalists who link up with the Varangians
>They march to the Imperial Palace and get in easily
>Ioannes attempts to flee on foot
>He doesn't leave the palace
>Cardio matters man
>Is beheaded on the spot

Classic Empire of the Greeks.
Byzantium had all kinds of fucked up stuff, heck, the nika riot started from what would be today a fight between hooligans.
So did we really progress beyond the middle ages caste society as is continuously repeated to us?
The industrial and post industrial societies only changed the means but wagecucks are just hypenated peasants working for a feudal (corporate) lord and their lives become shittier and more artificial by the day
>hey brah, you have running water naw, you should be grateful
People live on painkillers, energy drugs, pass 9-10 hours of their day in front of a cancerigenous screen doing useless garbage to produce useless garbage for the corporatists who sell them to the same wagecucks to fill emotional voids. Then go to drink or do some placebo stuff after work to feel "realized" then go back to home to a cold, soulless enviroment where everybody is connected to a screen. Worse if the wagecuck gets sued and has to pay alimony to his ex wife to also never see his children again.
As I stated before I'm not saying that the past was better, where you could get beheaded for questioning the Pope, but wtf where are we headed as species?
Also existencialism general to keep this /his/ related

Wtf I love horseshoe theory now
I agree, it is no different than punishing criminals. The kulaks being the victims is a narrative that only the historically ignorant believe.
Which pre-modern military would you have most liked to serve in?
For me, it's the Sacred Band of Thebes.

But it'd be weird for an SEAsian to do so, so I opt for the Army of the Ilkhanate during the time of Hulagu and Abagha.
How do you clear up misconceptions about the Nazis/Hitler without being mistaken for a Nazi apologist?
You don't, /pol/tards have forever tainted any rational discussion that could be had on those topics.
