If you think that's bad, this is probably the most BTFO moment in the entirety of Roman history and led to the Eastern Roman Empire giving up on the west for a good century.

>Whether one agrees with Bury or not, it is certain that her brother decided to marry Honoria to a Roman senator named Bassus Herculanus who was considered "safe" and unlikely to use this connection to seize the throne. Faced with this unwanted marriage, Honoria sought the aid of Attila the Hun. She sent the Hunnish king a plea for help – and her ring – in the spring of 450. Though Honoria may not have intended a proposal of marriage, Bury points out Attila chose to interpret her message as such. He accepted, asking for half of the western Empire as dowry. When Valentinian discovered the plan, again only the influence of his mother Galla Placidia convinced him to exile, rather than kill, Honoria. He also wrote to Attila strenuously denying the legitimacy of the supposed marriage proposal

If she had a bad day that doesnt mean that the whole Western Roman Empire has to have one too

Read the Tantraloka instead
>>
Avoid anything by ISKCON, but I´m not sure if they have translated the Rig Veda, they prefer the much, much later Puranic sectarian literature that they call "Vedas".

I´m not competent enough to know if it´s 100% accurate or not, but Ralph Griffith´s translation preserves the metric scheme of the hymns, which I find pretty cool. So if you could, for example, set it into music and sing in both English and Sanskrit and it would basically fit.

HOW IS GENERATIONAL THEORY NOT "HUMANITIES", ACCORDING TO YOU?
>>
>>3170318
how isn't it history?
The generation of 1940-1960 is history, isn't it?
And sure, not all baby boomers are the same, but there might be certain trends within a generation

Also, I would argue this topic is related to Humanities aswell

I think they would have eventually been conquered by some other European expedition, maybe another Spanish one, maybe by the Portuguese (though they would contravene the Tordesillas treaty) maybe even by the French, English or Dutch.

An interesting question though, what would have happened directly afterwards if the Mexicas managed to kill all Spaniards in the Noche Triste and defeated the Tlaxcalans? I imagine diseases would still pose a giant threat to the Aztecs.

Hey /his/, what are some must reads for someone interested in the classical antiquity, Mesopotamia, and the Mongol empire?
Also what are some basic books I have to read to get into philosophy. I'm especially interested in libertarian literature, but open to new ideas.

What part of Antiquity?

For near east, I would recommend
>A History of the Near East by Marc Van de Mieroop

For a Focus on Greeks, these four classics would cover you rather well. There is also a good lecture on iTunes U from Yale on ancient Greece.

>Herodotus: The Histories
>Thucydides: Peloponnesian War
>Xenophon: Hellenika
>Arrian: Anabasis of Alexander

Anyone else took the Nietzsche pill and now can't take humanity seriously anymore? Once you realize that behind every moral or political statement there is an ulterior motive of that organism to further himself in the human
animal hierarchy everything becomes a joke.

Read Alasdair McIntyre's After Virtue and this may help you out.
Then, once you understood his point, you can follow his lead and study Aristotle. Or the Stoics, which IMO had a better philosophy.
