why are individuals in the hard sciences so keen on seeking public intellectual status by maiming the fields of philosophy, politics, history, and archaeology, among others? for some reason, it seems that this trend is escalating.

some hypotheses:
>popular media now much more pop. science focused in America than it is on the old "men of letters" tropes of past intellectual epochs (reaction to postmodern anxiety and desire of hoi polloi to return to the Enlightenment?)
>the very process of research and application of research in the hard sciences, once basic skills are attained, can sometimes be fairly rote, especially in modern functionalist contexts where people's research is being put towards incremental development of products and things; thus, those with the highest IQs in these fields feel unchallenged or undermotivated and so seek out other complex subjects. the inflated egos they have from having advanced degrees in "more difficult" subjects make them feel that they have something new to offer these fields when they don't see their tired epistemologies reflected in modern discourse in those subjects (could also play into scientists' anxieties themselves about postmodernism and almost reflexive need to silence debates about epistemology to maintain their advanced intellectual status in Western Europe and America vis a vis continental intellectual traditions)
>individuals in the hard sciences, cut off from popular discourse and normal people (academia insulates, and interaction with non-specialists is unnecessary when you work in such an abstracted field as evo psych or astrophys), think that there is actually a culture war going on with evangelicals that threatens their funding
>to use their own stupid determinist philosophy, maybe there is something inherent about the hard sciences that draws candidates who are also arrogant, ignorant prigs who can't shut their mouths about things they don't understand

His actions caused the creation of Zionist state of Israel.

How do you feel about this?

Hitler wanted to relocate the Jews to an area near Palestine, but of course French and British mandates in the Middle East stopped that from happening. They could've had their own state, but thanks to the selfishness of Britain and France, Hitler had no other choice, but to exterminate the Jews.

>>3179251
Kinda funny how that ended up happening anyways after the war.

How common were people who renounce society in human history?

Was there a place or time where they were more prevalent?

I can only think about religious hermits like the sannyasin in India or monks in christian monasteries, but how about groups of people? Maybe the amish, but still they seem to be mostly religion driven than for social/political reasons

Hermits were recorded throughout history; They're just not very interesting.

>How common were people who renounce society in human history?

Pretty fucking common. Of course it depends on when and where, (individuals/families can go off the grid quite easily, larger, organized breakaway communities rely on both private property, and not having savages to murderfuck them.)
>>
>>3179052
Most Siberian towns/villages were and still are quite isolated, while the native people there did not renounce society they did not exactly participate either. I remember reading about many people in the first half of the 20th century not knowing they were living under the rule of communism.

Why did he really hate Jews when there were roughly 10 jews in the entirety of Spain?

>Moreover Germany is not, as believe those fond of broad generalizations, the country of discipline, despite appearing to be so outwardly. The Germans are a very special people. They sing very well together in choral groups, they march to the same martial step; but every movement of indiscipline, of rebellion in the world, reminiscent of Spartacus, originated in Germany.[30]

Also the Israeli air force annihilated arab planes on the ground meaning they have not just air superiority, but supremacy

Why do people get mad when they claim African civilizations, when "African" is literally in their moniker?
9 posts and 3 images submitted.

African American is stupid, anyway. There are tons of African Americans who aren't black.
>>
Remember to sage and report. If you respond you're part of the problem.
>>
I recall answering this question several times now. Here it is again, one more time, since apparently you've forgotten:

Only in the USA can one think that the term "African-American" is politically correct. My friend Gerard, a white man from South Africa who relocated to Pennsylvania, is an African-American. My friend Hassan, a Moroccan who relocated to California, is an African-American. The white Zimbabwean businessman whom i met in Argentina and the black Angolan student whom i met in Brazil are African-Americans. But that is not what USA citizens mean when they say "African-American": they mean "black person who lives in the USA". In fact they call "African-American" even people from Haiti, Britain and France, as long as their skin is black. Most USA citizens (particularly the self-appointed African-American ones) think of Africa as being only sub-Saharan Africa, and of America as being only the USA. And they do not consider white people born in Africa as "African". In other words, when they say "African" they really mean "person with a black skin", and when they say "American" they really mean "USA citizen".

I think that "black" is more precise and, ultimately, more politically correct. Thus i use "black musician" to mean what USA citizens refer to as "African-American musician". If no nationality is provided, then it means that the black person is from the USA (this book is mostly about the USA, so it would be redundant to keep repeating "black USA musician"). I write both "black" and "white" lower case. Occasionally i lapse into the "African-American" thing myself, but that should be in a broader context (when i am indeed talking about the two continents).

Since there is only one true God not just for our solar system but for the entire universe, does the God appear to each species of Space Aliens as an Earth Human, or does he make himself look like a member of their own species?
