What's the reason for sex to be such a taboo in so many cultures?
I find that the more taboo it is the more it leads into an insane sexuality (excessive masturbation, promiscuity, etc). It also has stupid consecuences like in those countries were a kid is told that he wasn't conceives but brought by a seagull or whatever it is. It also leads to an over idealisation of sex, which is just another natural process like eating.
Even if it were for social order, sex being normalized as a topic doesn't really affect marriage or lead to promiscuity. A person can be educated about sex and still have a calm and sane sexual life.
Is there any study or something on this topic? Are there cultures where sex isn't taboo? How do they manage in that case?
You cant have a happy marriage if you fuck around in your teens
>>3190234
Why are masturbation and promiscuity insane?
If sex is no different than eating, and it's perfectly ok to eat by yourself, then why is it not ok to sex yourself?
Or would you starve until you can eat with your mate?
By your logic, we should all just buy sex dolls and forget about women.
>>3190234
There are some indigenous people where sex is not taboo. Also polynesians had a pretty normal idea of sex I would say.

He's good enough to offer a foundational base.
Consider the following question:
>There are four people, Adam, Beth, Carrie, and Donna.
>Adam is a man, while Beth, Carrie, and Donna are all women.
>Adam is in an emotional and physical relationship with Beth, they consider each other partners but are not married.
>Carrie is the boss of both Adam and Beth, which means she provides them their separate incomes and can revoke them at any time without citing a reason.
>Carrie desires Adam physically and offers him a raise if he sleeps with her.
>Adam refuses, citing faithfulness in his relationship with Beth as his reason.
>Angry at being refused, Carrie repeats her offer, but also declares that she will have Beth fired if Adam refuses her again.
>She also makes it clear Adam will not be able to support both himself and Beth if Adam refuses, putting Beth or both of them in danger of homelessness.
>Believing Beth's safety is more important than their intimacy being exclusive, Adam reluctantly accepts Carrie's proposal.
>After some time passes, Beth discovers the deal and breaks off her relationship with Adam, stating that he's unfaithful and untrustworthy.
>Adam confides his sadness with Donna, who sympathizes with him and decides to begin a relationship with Adam, as she agrees with his priorities.
Rank each of the four, with leftmost being least justified and rightmost being most justified in their behavior. No ties.

You learning to embody a nation within a character? Then writing stories about the interactions and relationships the nations have with one another.
>>3189666
Nah, Satan, I'm just curious to see what other people think.
My personal answer is
Carrie Beth Adam Donna
>>3189642
Carrie is the most unjustified for obvious reasons
Adam is the 2nd most unjustified since he never told Beth immediately about Carrie's offer
Beth was justified since Adam never came to her
Donna is just the rebound

Wrong. America is the continuation of the Roman Empire.
Serious question: I have heard many intellectual approaches to understanding the Christian narrative and Christian theology, but there is mainly one thing that seems to be impossible to reconcile with modern scientific discoveries- death. According to scripture, Adam brought death into the world when he sinned against God in the garden. He was never "meant" to die, he was destined for eternal life from the beginning. We are not supposed to die, and death is a result of sin. Which is why both Jews and Christians hope and believe in a literal resurrection that will occur at some point in the future (for Christians it will be when Christ returns; he was the first to be raised). But looking at Genesis with modern eyes in the context of what we know about human history and bodily death, it isn't true. We are not literally descended from Adam and Eve and death did not enter into the world as a result of sin. It's just a fact of nature and it is a biological reality. Why then, did Jesus rise from the dead? Why then, are we "destined for eternal life" ? Why then, will God raise the righteous up from the dead? If death is not something to be defeated in the first place, and is not actually a result of our sin? There is no answer for this. I have heard Christians say "Adam just brought spiritual death into the world, it doesn't mean literal death." But this is clearly not true if you read the Bible. There is a reason that Jews believe in resurrection and Christ, as the Messiah, was reported to have been raised in glory. Death, in the Judeo-Christian worldview, is not part of God's plan and is something to be literally defeated. What intelligent Christian defense is there for this truth?
>>3189236
You're laboring under a misconception of what "death" is.
God said the day they sinned, they would surely die. That very day. Die. But they lived for centuries.
To you, death is the cessation of life. To God, death is separation from Him, as He is Life.
Adam and Eve had the Spirit of God living in them, and when they sinned, the Spirit fled them and they died. They were separated from God. They lost the glory they had and immediately knew that they were naked. That is the death God was talking about; the separation from God, Who is Life.
Life is not some random process brought about by ages of chance and time. If you can shed yourself of that modern delusion, and know that God is the author of all life, the "death" Adam and Eve suffered will make sense to you.
As will your own state of being, as you too were born dead, in the image of fallen mankind, and not filled with the Holy Spirit of God.
Every human is going to live forever in one of two eternal destinations, and God has made it possible for us to choose which one we want. So while Adam did let sin and death and pain and sorrow and disease into the world, and the world and mankind and all there is was cursed, there is an opportunity before each and every one of us to believe Jesus is Who He says He is, and to live with Him forever in a glorified body.
Stop thinking that death only means physical, biological death. The second death, being cast into eternal torment in a lake of fire, is very real, and is an eternal separation from God.
Genesis was happening in different dimension or something. It was 'paradise' after all.
And you can simply say that biology as it is it's a result of sin.
Also it's all bullshit honestly.
