YES, BUT WHAT CAME AFTER WAS NO BETTER.

MEXICO WAS BORN IN THE YEAR EIGHTEEN HUNDRED TWENTYONE, WHEN AGUSTÍN DE ITURBIDE CONSUMMATED INDEPENDENCE, ESTABLISHING THE MEXICAN EMPIRE; MEXICO DIED IN THE YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED TWENTYTHREE, WHEN ÁLVARO OBREGÓN RATIFIED THE "TREATIES OF BUCARELI", RELINQUISHING THE NATION TO A CONDITION OF VIRTUAL SLAVERY.

IN THE YEAR TWOTHOUSAND EIGHTEEN, MEXICO WILL BE REBORN, WHEN ANDRÉS MANUEL LÓPEZ OBRADOR RISES TO NATIONAL LEADERSHIP, INITIATING THE REGENERATION OF THE NATION.

He was excessively brutal no doubt, but he was what Mexico needed. He ended the incessant warfare, stabilized, and then improved the economy, and brought prestige to Mexico.

In the end, all countries at some point either inherited the benefits of, or went through, an especially brutal and repressive beginning on the road to development. Countries that have passed such points no longer need, and can afford, to have leaders that put the well being of the people, rather than Nation, first, but Mexico was not there yet then, and I believe even now. Had the Diaz dictatorship lasted longer, Mexico might have become stable and prosperous enough to transition into a real democracy, but the violent revolution against the dictatorship destroyed most of the progress it made, and the successive governments have provided as many liberties to the people as they can at the expense of peace and prosperity.

Perhaps I'm wrong. I would love to hear an opposing argument, but this is how I see it.

>As to the deficiency of capital to carry on planting operations in the South, there will be no complaint of that after a disposition is manifested to set about planting earnestly and honestly. The profits upon the raising of the Southern staples are now so great that capitalists only require the ordinary business assurances of fair dealing and discretion, to make them quite willing to furnish the means for their production. This is being done already to a large extent. It is being done in such ways that it is impossible to compute its magnitude. It is being done in the way of advances, in the way of partnerships, in the way of land purchases, in the way of furnishing machinery and supplies, and in innumerable other ways. To what extent it shall be carried during the coming Winter, depends entirely upon the Southern people themselves. If their conduct gives ground for confidence, and their management promise of success, they will neither want for Northern capital nor for friendly Northern assistance.

>invention of cotton gin increases demand for cotton
>demand for cotton increases demand for labor, slave labor is the most convenient choice
>south gets rich off of it
>northerners want a cut of the cotton candy
>cotton depletes soil requiring land expansion for further cultivation, which is why slavery was to be expanded into the west
>northerners seize opportunity to deny expansion unless cut is given, slavery dispute is just 19th century race baiting
>south denies, tries to secede
>civil war, south loses
>slaves freed
>reason being is that it's cheaper to pay wages than pay for the entire upkeep of slaves allowing for maximum profits
>southerners don't profit anymore cause northerners now taking cut in the new crop lien system

>In the momentous step, which our State has taken of dissolving its connection with the government of which we so long formed a part, it is but just that we should declare the prominent reasons which have induced our course.
>Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery - the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product, which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun. These products have become necessities of the world, and a blow at slavery is a blow at commerce and civilization. That blow has been long aimed at the institution, and was at the point of reaching its consummation. There was no choice left us but submission to the mandates of abolition, or a dissolution of the Union, whose principles had been subverted to work out our ruin.

>The material prosperity of the North was greatly dependent on the Federal Government; that of the the South not at all. In the first years of the Republic the navigating, commercial, and manufacturing interests of the North began to seek profit and aggrandizement at the expense of the agricultural interests.

3 northern states banned blacks free or slave from settling in them. Other states actually required blacks to post bond if they wanted to be there. The North had slavery too but gave up on it by 1808 when the international slave trade was banned under federal law. Northern soil isn't very good for cotton cultivation like Southern soil is, hence why slavery in the North wasn't to the extent it ever was in the South. They didn't care about the slaves at all. A shitload of them died soon after being freed from starvation and disease.

You need to read Mainländer, OP

The rotting God - Mainländers Metaphysic of Entropy
Before our universe was born, the only thing that existed was the basic unity. The only thing we know is that the basic unity must have been killing itself, because it was the only thing existing before the universe and therefore it couldn't have been killed by anything else, because there wasn't anything that could have killed it. Therefore the universe, as we know it, was born through the suicide of God. God decided that he can't bear his existence anymore and that he wishes to turn into Nothingness. But he was not able to reach that goal without thereby creating our world, because the path from his over-being to Nothingness required a transition, which is being as we know it, our universe. This entire world is therefore nothing more than God's "body", that is in all its components rotting into nothingness now.

The course of the universe is therefore defined as a movement from the over-being (God) through the being (our universe) into nothingness. The world itself is the decay in the plurality, that means in egoistic individuals that are fighting each other. . The universal law of the weakening of the power (entropy) causes the world to decay in a large amount of unorganic and organic individuals that are all weakening the power of other beings and their environment and the same time getting weakened themself by the overall course of the universe. The purpose of every natural force, every form of matter and every form of life is exclusively to weaken the power sum of the universe by living the path through the state of being into nothingness. Every part of nature is desiring for absolute death, because that is the ultimate goal of every form of matter and life - to turn into nothing.

Has anyone bought any artifacts or coins online? (please no Ebay buyers) I know most of you can't afford the big bucks stuff I'm talking about small statues, pendants, and jewelry that usually cost less than $1000. I've been thinking of getting a Roman coin that was made into a necklace back then, the idea of wearing or owning something so old makes me go crazy. I even found dealers selling beautiful greek pottery for prices much lower than I expected

"Washington makes an extended reference to the dangers of foreign nations who will seek to influence the American people and government; nations who may be considered friendly as well as nations considered enemies will equally try to influence the government to do their will. "Real patriots," he warns, who "resist the intrigues" of foreign nations may find themselves "suspected and odious" in the eyes of others, yet he urges the people to stand firm against such influences all the same. He portrays those who attempt to further such foreign interests as becoming the "tools and dupes" of those nations, stealing the applause and praise of their country away from the "real patriots" while actually working to "surrender" American interests to foreign nations. Washington had experience with foreign interference in 1793 when French ambassador Edmond-Charles Genêt organized American demonstrations in support of France, funded soldiers to attack Spanish lands, and commissioned privateers to seize British ships. Genêt's mobilization of supporters to sway American opinion in favor of an alliance with France angered President Washington who ordered him to leave."

Reminder that /pol/ is full of lobbyist scum.
>>
>>3208889
If you have representative government, you're going to have lobbying. There's fundamentally no difference between any interest group you care to name and a concerned citizen writing his congressman about an issue and threatening not to vote for him again if he doesn't do something about it except scale.

AIPAC is far from the most influential lobby there is. Hell, there's zero correlation between U.S. mid-east policy shifts and AIPAC spending or efforts. If they really controlled the U.S. government, you'd think the Americans wouldn't send all that money to places like Egypt and Lebanon. Things like Agribusiness are way more influential, and nobody talks about that.
