Just wank.
Will humanity unironically revert back to religion once they realise atheism only leads to nihilism and depression?
>>3222224
Why do you care? We all know you've probably embraced religion for the sole reason of being contrarian. Fuck off you stupid frogman.
>>3222224
There will always be religion because we crave stability in our lives, we want to believe that there is more for us in the end than just rotting in the ground, that there is an actual guiding force as we hurtle along in the never ending expanse of space so far away from any other potential intelligent life that not even our great grandchildren will be able to see.
While atheists will always be a vocal subject of the population the vast majority if the human race will still practice some firm of religion.
>>3222224
We are already entering that timeline.
>god
>state
>morals
>ethics
>nation
>religion
>property
>ideology
So what DID he believe in then?

Why do asian countries bury alive each others prisoners? You see it periodically in Chinese/Japanese history but it never pops up in Western history as far as I know.
Saves the trouble of having to bury them when they're dead?
I don't know, probably something in Buddhism.
Not sure if that counts as Western, but I saw a few incidents on liveleak where captives in the Syrian Civil War were murdered like that. Extremely brutal.
>>3222157
I mean native Americans would do something similar by burying you up to your head with you either next to a hill if ants or letting the wolves/bears get at you and you would die an extremely terrifying and agonizing death.
I think that's about it though really...can't think of really any other western civilization burying people alive.
Why did America attack Vietnam? Why the war happened?

Somebody set us up the bomb
>>3221988
>Why did America attack Vietnam
Its not an attack if you don't invade North Vietnam in full force and rape it to death. The US was defending South Vietnam and trying to contain Communism + show the US was willing to fight it wherever it appeared (Which it did with the Treaty of Paris. Then it back stabbed South Vietnam by not defending it after North Vietnam broke the Treaty and claimed victory over the war.)
Honestly it was more of a war of nationalism with the French leaving the US holding the bag. The US semi-backed the wrong side of the conflict (Wanting, Vietnam independence under its sphere of influence rather than the Soviet or Chinese) and played a game of shaky table on the conflict's affair with the people back at home.

Why did Ba'athism fail?
Speaking about Arab republican nationalism in general:
>US/UK support of conservative monarchies like Saudi Arabia and Morocco
>loss in credibility after losing several wars with Israel
>splits within Arab nationalism; Libya vs. Egypt, Syria vs. Iraq, etc.
>>3221583
It's not like fundamentalists didn't face similar obstacles and they thrive pretty well.
Truth is, they never went away really and what always got them was inner infighting, these countries have little democratic traditions and people would always put their own faction before republic. And military strongmen thrive in such environment
>>3221570
Well the UAR failed because the Syrians realized they got memed into letting Egypt run their country.
I'm looking for historical reenactment and historical fiction inspiration, and want to see your pictures of medieval Angles, Saxons, and Jutes; the groups that would contribute largely to the ancestry of the modern English.

What about the frisians

lel, didnt know we were still living in the 19th century
How would the history of the British Isles have developed if Ireland had been successfully converted into Protestants?
>>3221448
How would you have converted them? Would they have been the same population being utterly forced under the boot of Ollie Cromwell to be Protestant? Or would the Catholic Irish natives have simply been utterly genocided to make way for English immigrants to take their place?
>>3221474
For some reason or other, a majority of them just suddenly decided to believe in Protestantism.
>>3221448
Full assimilation into Anglo society. Would still be in union with Britain today, the the 1950s catholic population of Britain, Australia, US, canada, New Zealand would be significantly less. Likewise the catholic population of former British colonies would be way less because Irish missionaries were responsible for the conversions there.
it is commom for Filipinos to claim that they have Spanish ancestry, due to 3 centuries of colonial history under Spain, having a Spanish last name, or claiming that their grandparent or a more earlier ancestor is Spanish. but what is the true count for Filipinos that have actual Iberian ancestors?
>>3221447
By now, probably almost all of them. 15 generations is a long time.
>>3221454
and yet they look like pic related.

What year had the most aesthetic European borders?
Not strictly the best, because in that case the answer would be 117 AD every time, I mean the most aesthetic overall
I always thought the "unified G*rman Empire" had pretty aesthetic borders desu
1812

I've always thought northeastern big france looked super retarded, contemporary france is best
>>3221318
That belongs in a border gore thread.
I started to get interested in Orthodox Christianity and have never been happier. I finally feel an everlasting growing, infinite love and grace I have never felt before that nothing ever compares to that fills a huge void in my life. No words can describe it, it speaks entirely for itself and perpetually emanates God's love. So why haven't you given Orthodox Christianity a try
>>3221312
Theology is absolutely perfect. There is no need to rationalize what is there. Instantly in liturgy, you have a sense and understanding of what is God's love and grace and continue to seek the love, beauty and perfection of God's everlasting love and grace. Nothing in the world pails in comparison.
You just have to see and experience it before you believe in it
>>3221312
so, what have you been doing then? have you just studied it or have you actually converted? What have you read?
>>3221348
just look up 'theosis'. it will grow from there and constantly think about it and compare it to youmre own experiences
