ok /his/, lets talk about how has islam changed the world, either good or bad, this can be in any part of history. ill start with the good:
>Did progress on mathematics
>Advanced in science
>Had some success in medicine
>>3238734
Islam has been a disaster for the world, it has set back the nations that fell to it and has kept them in abject barbarism to this very day. The fact that Mohemmed got away with so much wickedness is proof that there is no God.
>>3238734
It's done absolutely nothing but annihilate culture and replace ancient Middle Eastern identities with cancerous Arab identity.
I'd say Islam was pretty cool till recent times, kind of how Greece was awesome in ancient times but now is a shithole.
I have been wondering lately, did African-Americans undergo something of a eugenics program? My knowledge of American slavery is limited at best but it seems to be that slaveowners would breed for specific traits that they would find favourable to the actual trade itself. Stronger Africans would be bred because of the work they were expected to do. I was partly considering this because I was trying to figure out why it is that African-Americans are so dominant in American professional sports. Basketball, football, almost entirely black.
I'm not trying to be a stormweenie or anything like that, I'm just wondering if this actually happened. I also apologize if this has been discussed before, I'm not a regular to this board.
>>3238510
the same way you buy a donkey, is it strong does it look healthy check its teeth
donkeys that dont get sold are used for something worse or dumped overboard
simple
>>3238510
Up to a point, but I don't think breeding on plantations was the primary cause.
If selection happened anywhere it was at the slaving posts in West Africa. Slave traders would only be buying what they could reasonably assume would survive the trip to the US/Caribbean and sell for a good price when they arrived.
>>3238528
the trip across the atlantic was also a serious selection, large percentages died, even if that might have as much to do with weather and placement and leght of trip
If atheists are wrong, then why must it be that Christians are right?
Literally because God said so.
The point of religious belief is to accept something as truth without knowing it. Whereas the terms belief, knowing, and related aren't debated, the concept of a universal and absolute spiritual truth is extremely interpretable.
The most powerful thing for any individual would be to actively engage in reasonable skepticism and disbelief, especially of themselves.
>>3238506
no one except literally idiotic christians thinks this
Germany and Japan had to undergo severe punitive measures in the aftermath of WWII, including ceding territory, foreign occupations, having entire clauses written into their constitution forbidding offensive wars, and in Germany's case, complete division under foreign domination for 45 years.
So why did Italy get off with such lenient terms? the only real punishments against them in their treaty was to give up all colonial possessions and pay war reparations, which were paid off in the form of trade goods and services.
So why didn't Italy get split into allied occupation zones, have their military be forbidden to wage war, or be forced to give their mediterranean islands to Britain?
>>3238438
Because the allies took it not the Russians, Germany and Austria were split because Russia had already taken some
Also to take land might have given the Italian communists more power thus causing Italy to fall to communism and thus make a great loss in the Cold War that had already started
>>3238438
Because they switched sides, I guess... France didn't suffer either from the atrocities commited by Vichy, because the Free French won.
Italy was treated after WW2 like Germany was after WW1: way too gently
Has there ever been a more based language group?
>>3238313
How the fuck can language group be "based"?
>>3238315
You must admire that linguistic imperialism
>>3238313
Woah....
Why is Ural-Altaic shared typology so effective?
>dude lets start war with entire Balkan lmao
What did he meant by this?
Seriously, I undertand that London Conference wasnt fair, but why did he started the war he could not won?
>>3238290
Actually, 'he' did win the First Balkan War. However, his lack of foresight led to a series of happenings that made him start the second one.
>>3238290
>Seriously, I undertand that London Conference wasnt fair, but why did he started the war he could not won?
He could, Bulgaria had the biggest and best land army in the Balkans, Bulgaria could 1 v 1 any Balkan nation, they didn't know about the mutual defense pack of Serbia and Greece, even so they didn't do too badly against both Serbia and Greece, but when the Ottoman Empire and Romania entered the war and marched to Sofia unopposed the war was lost.
>>3238886
While the bulgarians were marching against the turks, the sultan even sent a telegram to Ferdinand to watchi his back.Sadly, the tzar was too caught up in his dream to fordge a Neo-Byzantine empire. Total idiot, at least his son was trully great.

Was Engels the mastermind behind marxism?
>>3237769
>work in the shadows
>his name is on the cover of the book
>>3237785
>implying 99% of marxists actually related marxism to him
>>3237793
He's the second or third figure we mention after Marx. I guess 4th in the case of Maoists.
Marxists are well aware of his contribution to Marxist thought - he edited Kapital!
Kutuzov was regarded by his contemporaries as an incompetent coward but in the end his cowardice and indecision contributed to Napoleon's defeat by drawing the Grand Armee deeper and deeper into Russia to chase the constantly retreating Russians. Kutuzov later pretended that it was part of his master plan all along and is now regarded as one of Russia's national heroes.
Are there any similar examples in history of people who've bumbled their way into success?
>>3237525
Napoleon Bonaparte
Adolf Hitler
Trump is a classic example.
Chances are he actually knew what he was doing all along.
I mean it's simple. What Napoleon wanted were two or three decisive battles in which he would destroy the majority of Russian army, take up a few strategic points and then dictate terms of peace. In this he was denied.
Does man need human companionship to be happy?
I know I do

Since when Liberalism and Leftism began to set a strong foothold in Western Society?
boring /pol/ topic
>>3237385
>le /pol/ bogeyman
>>3237378
classical liberalism in 1780s but accelerated after french revolution in 1789. leftism didn't make any real political gains till the early 1880s but it existed as far back as the french revolution, again.
Was there ever an interracial political marriage before the 20th century?
yes
your grandfather and my grandmother
>>3237356
what race is your grandmother?
Yes, there are countless examples.
Alexander & his generals, Solomon and Sheba. All the way through to Brits marrying Indian princesses
>actually came from the lower class
>told Marx to fuck off
>wanted order without power of the state
