9/10 brought me entertainment
Anyone else think a lot less of Islam after learning about it's history and doctrine? I can't believe normies equate it to Christianity and the NT
>>
>>3382471
My thoughts as a normie myself are that while the whole thing is ridiculous, we must refrain from Islamaphobia and similar tensions. I say this as a Christian and the OP of this thread.

The best way to convert others is to love and respect them first and make them interested in your ways of life in the process.

Men get bored with one woman. You want to fuck as many as you can.
It makes sense from biological point. Man can impregnate at least 5 women a day.

What exactly did the Roman senate actually do during the Imperial Era? Were they just some kind of glorified debate club with special privileges attached to it? Were they like advisors to the emperor or something? Were they still elected or did the emperor just appoint whoever he wanted?

They provided a veneer of legitimacy and legality to the Emperor's imperial orders. At least under Augustus and the first Emperors they conducted business much as usual except their decisions were a formality, a 'rubber stamp' for the Emperor's wishes and they operated only with his express blessing (knowing full well which hand they fed from)

Is there a good movie about Vlad the Impaler? One without any mystic or dracula bullshit. His life was pretty dramatic as is and it would be good. It should star pic related

> Seneca the Younger describe Caligula as an insane emperor who was self-absorbed, angry, killed on a whim, and indulged in too much spending and sex. He is accused of sleeping with other men's wives and bragging about it.

>Riots again erupted in Alexandria in AD 40 between Jews and Greeks. Jews were angered by the erection of a clay altar and destroyed it. In response, Caligula ordered the erection of a statue of himself in the Jewish Temple of Jerusalem, a demand in conflict with Jewish monotheism.

>Agrippa finally convinced Caligula to reverse the order. But Caligula issued a second order to have his statue erected in the Temple of Jerusalem. In Rome, another statue of himself, of colossal size, was made of gilt brass for such temple. The Temple of Jerusalem was then transformed into a temple for Caligula, and it was called the Temple of illustrious Gaius the new Jupiter.

If the Romans were capable of copying and adapting types of military units, like what they did with Cataphracts, could they not have put greater efforts into forming a large corps of horse archers similar to those they would have encountered many times over the centuries on the steppes? Especially when confronted with enemies like the Huns.

>>
>>3381855
Because they were able to gather steppe auxilliaries to do the job for them. The Parthians managed to get the shit kicked out of them several times by the Romans, even after Crassus' and Marc Antony's failed excursions (which were largely due to stupidity on their commander's parts, ignoring the terrain and what not), so clearly Steppe archers weren't as big of a deal as people seem to make out of them. The Mongols and Huns were an exception, not the rule.

Chinese termites had enough of the Emperor termite bowing to white devils so they tried to use their bullet-catching kung-foo to make things right, but they just ended up getting shot and strengthening the position of the white devils.

The violent immigrants, aka Western Nationals, were raping and pillaging until the local people decided to form a militia to kick them out. The federal authorities decided to back the militias to forestall them becoming a powerful insurgency, since they had support from all echelons of society. Unfortunately they lost and China was forced to maintain open borders and grant the victors most favored trade nation status.

>Was pretty awesome and wrecked the fuck out of the Byzantines at first
>Horribly inconsistent line of rulers
>BTFO'd by Basil 'our guy' Bulgar-slayer

Pretty much that. They created the Cyrillic after copying the Greek alphabeth and pasting it over the Moravian Glagolitic, so I blame them for Russian hackers and Trump
>>
>>3381742
the rulers were all pretty good after Krum

what really fucked the FBE was a Rus' invasion from the north. madman Svyatoslav of Kiev, after destroying the khazar khanate raided Bulgaria from the north, the Byzantines came from the south as allies and fought the Rus' off but kidnaped the Tsar and subjugated him and demoted him to a Byzantine noble

This is where Samuel comes in, declaring himself tsar and reconquering everything and fighting against Basil II for another couple of decades

and even after Kleidon and the blinded army, Samuels son Gabriel Radomir continued fighting but he was betrayed and murdered by his cousin Ivan Vladislav, AND THEN finally Bulgaria was conquered, under Ivan Vladislav
>>

As I said, pretty cool - horribly inconsistent.

i mean kinda, the only real objective in life is to reproduce so you can pass on your genes and keep the species going. other than that all you can do is enjoy yourself
>>
>>3381618

We have consciousness so we can project meaning onto it, but the nature of the world around us means its impossible to know if there is an objective meaning beyond us. However as we are the only beings we know that are conscious and 'meaning' is an abstract human concept anyway, the meaning we find in life is just as real anyway.

This always confused me so perhaps you lads can help me because it probably pretty B-TEC but what is the point of reproduction being the aim of all creatures if eventually all genetic lineages will become extinct? Like what is the difference between ending now and ending a million years later when the world ends ect? seems a lot of effort to reach the same point in terms of biological evolution?
In regards to OP >>3381664 gets it. It is pretty much impossible for us to conclude an objective meaning of life and purpose for humanity so if you create your own reason then its just as meaningful which you can denote from almost anything be it God or hedonism.
You'll find out when you stack it anyways.
