Hol up a secon /his/, think about this for a second, let me spit this at you:
Hitler wanted to MOVE the Jews before the war, when the war began did he have any other choice when it came to the ultimate removal of all Jewry from German land and Europe when the war was active? He obviously couldn't ship them to Madagascar at that point because of the logistics involved in that being way more taxing in war time, leaving the Jews all around the place behind front lines could lead to partisan groups forming and such which would hurt the war effort and probably strike fatal blows to the army by cutting supply lines. What other solution is there at this point if you want them gone but can't deport them en masse to a depopulated place (can't move them all to Israel since Hitler was bros with the Muslims and that would obviously cause problems in their lands).
So was the holocaust necessary, from a practical perspective, not getting into questions of moral qualms.

Yes, although there weren't decisive battles in the vein of Midway or Leyte Gulf, the clashes between the Regina Marina and the Royal Navy had a large impact on the war in Greece, North Africa and later Italy. Some of the more important battles were Matapan, Calabria and Taranto. You also saw some of the last engagements between battleships in this theater, since the Med is basically a small lake compared to the Pacific, the ranges the battles took place at weren't anywhere near as extreme.
Outside of Britain defeating Italy in the Mediterranean, the Sinking of the Bismarck was pretty important morally as well as strategically, as was the attack on Mers el Kebir,

Why is revenge so overwhelmingly condemned in Western culture? I'm not familiar with other cultures but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case outside of the West too.
I realize that civil societies wouldn't exist if we didn't abstain from violence (or at least to a certain extent), so I'm not referring to that. What I'm talking about is that nearly every work I've ever come across that deals with revenge pushes the idea that if you act on it it will only make things worse, and you are often destined to spend the rest of your life burning with hatred and anger. Honestly I'm not buying that.
Let's say that someone kills my wife, and then I kill them making sure no one will find out (again, I'm not saying society should accept this), psychologically speaking would it really affect me so negatively?
