Can someone tell me what era or period is this chair.
I'm going to admit, I've never studied the Napoleonic wars in great depth, so I could be asking a stupid question here. But at least I was under the impression that the primary reason Napoleon invaded Russia was that the Russians were undermining the Continental system and trading with Britain, and he wanted to force them to cut that shit out.
Was Russian-British trade really that big of a deal? I would have thought that Britain, with her colonial empire in places like the Carribean, India, and Canada, as well as acess to places all over the world like the U.S., China, South Anerica, etc. would have Russian trade as a pretty miniscule amount compared to the stuff coming in from other places.
Furthermore, what's the big rush? Again, I'm assuming rather than doing real research, but I would have thought that the amount of population, wealth, and proto-industry in what Napoleon controlled in Europe would dwarf that of Britain. If you really want to take them out, wait 5-10 years, build up another, colossal fleet, and take them out the old fashioned way. Why start a fight with Russia if Britain is your real enemy?
I'm sure there are answers to these questions, but I'm unclear on them. Does anyone have good books on the subject?

>Was Russian-British trade really that big of a deal?
No, but Russia being an annoying little shit was
To understand, you have to look at what happened between 1795 and 1807
Three times, the Russians started war of agressions against France (the first one right at France's border), three times they were defeated and three times Napoleon gave them generous condition
Yet, far from repaying that kindness, they always started shit again
Them pulling out of the System was the straw that broke the Camel's back, Napoleon just couldnt take their shit anymore

>trusting the Rusiians to be sensible human beings
>ever
I thought Napoleon was supposed to be smart

Napoleon was Hitler of 19th century.
Their reasons are the same.
How the unification of Germany failed.
>>3285525
But that's not why it failed (and that pic is 9gag-tier). A großdeutsche-Lösung would've upset the balance of powers in continental Europe even more, causing the British to increasingly strive to restore the balance they felt was necessary for their survival.
>>3285525
It wasn't prussia's plan in the first place. they wanted to isolate their rival (Austria) who had controll of the southen states in germany.
>>3285889
a strong german state had a superior economy and was a threat to anglo french dominance in europe and the colonies. their alliances with slavic nations were just there so they could later justify war against germans.
>Soul
>Mind
>Body
Can somebody explain the connection to me? I need as discursive an explanation as possible, because I can only prove the second two and the first one is used as an excuse for war. Any theory is welcome.
Thank you.

Mind is the collection of brain cells.
Body is everything else.
Soul doesn't exist.
Guys, I keep hearing how people are stupid to question religion or the "incredible transcendental nature of continental thinkers". If you dare to ask why you shouldn't believe in any other unfalsifiable system you get abused.
So what are the benefits of pretending, I mean, knowing Nietzsche's "profound truths" (that nobody can agree on) or about any other area of bullshit, I mean, deep thought?
Does it let you walk on water or do a physics degree in two days? Where are all the superhumans kept? Surely they choose to use their incredible powers outside the Critical Theory or Women's Studies department?! Their powers are being wasted!
>dude, you believe feels>reals! lmao!
>continental """"""philosophy""""""
>continental """"""thinkers""""""
Was it autism?
JUST SPIKE THE FUCKING CANNONS
>Ney's cavalry also failed to spike enemy cannon (driving iron spikes into the firing holes) while they were under French control (during the cavalry attack, the crews of the cannon retreated into the squares for protection, and then re-manned their pieces as the horsemen withdrew). Ney's cavalry carried the equipment needed to spike cannons, and spiking the cannons would probably have made them useless for the rest of the battle. The loss of a large number of cannon would have weakened the army and could have caused the Anglo-Allied force to withdraw from the battle.[10]

Was nationalsocialism based on idealism or rather realism?
>>3284955
Definitely idealism. The ideal to have a pure race and such, and some of the romanticism employed in natsoc propaganda shows that it was always to create an ideal.
>>3284955
Idealism, definetly. post above says it all pretty much.
Was Trotsky the most significant military leader of Jewish descent in European history? What other candidates are there?

Was Adenauer's West Germany basically NaziGermany-lite?
>strongly anti-communist, banned KPD
>right-wing conservative
>ethnically homogenous
>rejected Oder-Neisse line, wanted return of Germany's former eastern territories
>had lots of former Nazis in high ranking government positions
>>3284836
>Was Adenauer's West Germany basically NaziGermany-lite?
If you equate conservatism to nazism, and are historically illiterate, then yes.
